My favorite place for hibachi over Benihana any day! I love their fried rice with some ginger sauce on top. Their soup and salad are also delicious… Did I mention that have a huge sushi menu too! Definitely one of my favorite restaurants to go to monthly! Reasonable prices and the cooks do a great job entertaining! I’m so happy for this location close to my house!

Dining at Shogun is always a great experience for me. Personally, I like going a little earlier in the day when it’s not so busy. Also, the lunch items are just about the same portion for a cheaper price! The chefs are always nice and funny, and they always make it fun– no matter what time of day it is. I live for the ginger dressing they put on their salad. Whenever I go, it’s one of the things I get most excited for! Only downside I have when coming here is that the waitstaff is sometimes not very energetic and/or nice. I work in the restaurant business, so I understand that the job isn’t that always that great, but it helps the customers when the waitstaff has a better attitude. Overall, though, I love this place!

My fiancé and I went here a few days ago for our first and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food wasn’t bad at all but the customer service was terrible. We have never been treated that badly before, from getting our order wrong to being laughed at for having a food allergy. My fiancé didn’t know that shrimp came as an appetizer for our meal. It was our fault for not reading the menu better or stating the food allergy at the beginning of the meal but the way we were treated after words was the issue. The woman at the front desk laughed at my fiancé when he told her about his shrimp allergy. All she said was«there were only 2 pieces.» Appalled, we left the facility with our food to go. On our way home we called who we thought was the manager who also laughed at us and said if we ever come back there to eat there we should avoid doing that again. You’re right. We will avoid it because we will never come back. Then on top of it we called another location and spoke to their manager and she laughed at us too! She asked us why we went to that location. I’m sorry, but what kind of question is that? Why would you say that about another restaurant in your establishment? We were excited to try this for the first time and it was a unfortunately a really really poor and dirty dining experience. We definitely will not go back.

Ordered chicken fried rice and sushi. The rice was undercooked and it was hard and dry. The chicken was flavorless and although the sushi rolls were big, unfortunately they were dry, flavorless, and we ended up throwing it away. What a waste. Not ordering from this place ever again.

Great deal with their coupon! $ 36.95 dinner for 2 filet and shrimp with all the works. They give better portion sizes than their competitors. I also like their ginger dressing much better than the competition. I made reservations and we were seated on time. I recommend calling an hour ahead or have sushi at the bar while you wait. One side note; they could work on giving the place a deep cleaning and maybe new carpet. Other than that, the food and service was good.

First time trying this restaurant. Just walked into the door after calling and speaking with someone that said we could be seated with a large party of 8 right away and hostess refuses to seat us because one person is not here yet but on the way. Wow, must be nice to have so much business where our party doesn’t matter. In fact, she kept telling us how many people she had in the restauant so I guess we didn’t matter to her. Very rude and not very good in customer service at all. If I could give negative stars I would. Not friendly like the type of person that should be greeting customers. The hostess could basically care less if all of us just walked out and went somewhere else. I know this because I told her that and she still would not seat us. Good luck with this place with the service you provide! Poor owner is probably wondering why nobody is coming back! UPDATE: 5 minutes later We finally got seated and the hostess came to the table and said she needs to take the table away because one person ran out to the car to grab the gift for the birthday we were celebrating! Unbelievable! Then the manager came over upon our request and everyone was so frustrated finally left! The manager didn’t even try to get us to stay. 8 people!

It wasn’t as clean as I would’ve liked in terms of the carpet and restroom. In terms of food, the chef dropped a piece of meat on the table a few times and still put it on my husband’s plate. It should’ve been thrown out. When the chef rolled out the cart of food and supplies, I noticed the bowl of eggs was sitting on top of the white rice. My first thought was any germs on the bottom of the bowl from the counter are now on the rice. Overall, the food was average.

Great food and lots of it! We have been there several times and it’s always been good. I love their Woo Dip Har and Cashew Chicken. We haven’t tried any of the Japanese or sushi… just the Chinese.

Not one bad experience but three… While waiting for carry out sitting at the bar the manager got into a shouting match with a customer! Something about her being part of the new management team and she was saying how the customer was just causing trouble. This was more of a foreshadowing of what’s to come more than a bad experience. My wife, daughter and myself ate on the Japanese side for a special occasion and were completely underwhelmed by the service and the ability of the chef and his skills as an entertainer. We kinda laughed about it and said we wouldn’t come back. Tonite I gave it another try and here’s how it went… Sat with a nice group of people and I look down and there was a dried up cooked onion on the table that I scrapped off and threw on the floor and noticed the floor had ALLKINDSOFGARBAGEONIT! The waiter took our order and brought the wrong soup. He forgot to bring the fried wonton crackers also. The chef makes his appearance and starts his show. Then our salads came. He did the onion volcano … THREEWHOLELEVELS! He tried bouncing the egg on the spatula and dropped it. ANDTHATSTHEWHOLESHOWFOLKS! Thank you STCLAIRSHORES! SAVEYOURMONEY!

Went here with family that have been before, my first time being at a place like this so was excited to try it out. I must say that I was undrewelmed… there were 2 chefs, not entertaining one finished way before the other… it was all our people on both sides… I found the rice to he enjoyable, the rest was just grilled«meat»…the bill was way more than I would want to pay again!

Lunch prices are great value. Glad to have a location in SCS as driving to Troy or Sterling Heights can be a drag. Friendly staff & nice change from boring lunch options.

Seating was no problem. Sushi was three and a half stars, as well as the overall food. They were a bit overpriced for what they offered. I didn’t like the fact you had to pay extra(2.50) for fried rice with your meal. I wouldn’t go back just because there are similar places with higher quality sushi and dinner for similar price.

Well I was very satisfied. Chef was really good. Not as theatrical as at Benihana, but good. Staff very friendly and food pretty good. I’ll be back… And so close to home. My fav is the dbl fried rice w/extra garlic.

Great interior. Staff is decent, both locations however have been disappointing. We’ve given it a chance serval times and each time it’s been an epic fail. It’s not a place that makes you feel comfortable. The food is low end and there are way better Chinese food places by each location. Wongs is the best in SCS. Leongs 21 is the best in Macomb County. Don’t waste a penny in this establishment if you want the truth, there it is!

Have been here several times with pretty solid results all around. The sushi is ok, the hot dishes are nice, and the hibachi is good. Prices, décor, and service are all fine, just don’t try anything new or really exciting. For example, last time I got hibachi, I ordered the swordfish, which came out dry and bland. Everyone else ordered the usual surf and turf combos(sirloin and shrimp, filet and scallop, etc) and they were all tender and tasty. Again, play it safe, stick with old standbys, and you shouldn’t be disappointed.

Can’t go wrong here! Typical hibachi. We usually just get sushi. Good pricing, but it can get pricy depending on what you order. 99% of the time you can find a groupon or livingsocial deal that you can use at any of the locations. This is a fun place for the whole family, I always love seeing a first-timer watch a onion volcano go up in flames. Classic. Not too many sushi places on this side of town so it is nice to have good, friendly, clean, consistant sushi place in the neighborhood! Never had the Chinese, we keep wanting to try it but the urge for sushi always wins! :-)
