The food was very flavorful. Menu was diverse and there was a wonderful drink selection! Service was excellent. We were a larger group and Lorraine readily accomodated us! This restaurant offers a casual typical Italian atmosphere. While it was quite busy while we were there, we still received excellent service from Lorraine and the wait staff. The food was delicious. I enjoyed the bacon chicken alfredo pizza!

Riverside is my favorite spot downtown to grab some pizza and a drink, whether it’s a family outing for dinner or to enjoy the nightlife with some friends. The menu has something for everyone and the food is superb! Pizza connoisseurs will leave more than satisfied! The friendly and attentive wait staff makes the experience that much better, Lorraine always welcomes you in with a warm smile and delivers hospitality that is nothing short of exquisite!

I should have listened to some of the Unilocal reviews. I called over 3 days ago to talk to the owner. Did talk to Ken the Manager who said that the owner would call in a few days. Seen a review that a Unilocaler had to call several times before they were reached. I could have bet I wouldn’t hear from them since many of the stories sound alike. We go to Arcada for shows and frequent the bar beforehand. Most shows are at night, staff is good to excellent. The day is another story. Speaking of Lorraine. A really nasty person who pays attention to the not sober loud and dirty looking man sitting at the bar. I was wondering why no one was at the bar! She made a mistake by not putting all the ingredients on the ordered pizza. It came out and she didn’t notice, of course she is too busy being abrasive and rude. I couldn’t get her to come back to the table, because she was not working, but fooling around. I went to the pizza maker and asked what happened that there were no ingredients on the pizza. He had to round the elusive Lorraine to see what happened. She promptly without saying anything, snatched the pizza and took it back. Not coming back and saying what would be done, she goes to the drunken man and starts complaining of how dumb she is and that she forgot to add the ingredients on the computer. Really loud, making it sound like(wow they said something bad). How immature of a server to be so crude. Need to grow up and Steve the owner needs to see these complaints on Unilocal.Forget it, friends who frequent your establishment won’t be back either. You are losing lots of customers, wake up! Lorraine, you need to find something that is not in customer service. You are a rude, self centered person who needs to grow up. I wouldn’t have tipped you one cent. I wish there was an option lower than one star. I usually only write a Unilocal review for great service and if it’s bad I just know not to order again. Unfortunately, I could not let this one go. After having to return the first pizza that was delivered to us due to it being made incorrectly & having an actual puddle of grease sitting in the middle, this is what we received as our replacement(see photo). After asking to speak with the manager multiple times, we finally got a call from the owner, Steve. When we spoke to the owner he stated he saw the photo and«it wasn’t that bad”/“You should have slid the cheese back on and it’d be fine». I asked Steve if he would accept a pizza like that for his family or coworkers, especially after already having an issue, he told me that the pizza«didn’t look bad, I would have gladly ate it» …seriously? I couldn’t make this stuff up if even if I tried. I’m in shock that a business could be run at all, let alone successfully, when the OWNER doesn’t even set the bar high. Also — After 3 hours, I had to call EAT24 myself just to get an okay for a refund and we ended up without a pizza. Which is fine by me, if this is what they think pizza is suppose to look like. On customer service alone, I’ll never recommend this place to any friends or family. They clearly don’t hold themselves to much of any standard at all when it comes to their quality of food and service.

Went here on April 15, 2016 for a family member’s birthday party. We arrived around 4:30 pm while things were still on the quieter side. — Thin pizza was excellent — we had cheese and sausage. We would def get this again, even possibly for carry-out. — Nachos — «okay to decent». Weren’t bad by any stretch, but weren’t the greatest I’ve ever had. Kinda pricey($ 12 if you ask for beef or chicken added, otherwise $ 10), but they do give you an entire large bowl of them, even my family and I couldn’t finish them all. My only complaint is that the chips themselves looked/seemed«greasy»(even the chips without any cheese or condiments on them). Perhaps the chips were just made that way, but hours later I felt it in my stomach… Again these weren’t bad, but I probably wouldn’t get these again. — Service was very good. There seemed to only be one waitress(black hair, cute) who was running around with her head cut off — serving tables, serving the bar, answering the continuous ringing phone, and bringing the orders to the back. She worked her tail off. Eventually, another bartender or two came in for their shift, but the first hour or so this waitress was clearly overworked, but did pretty well considering. We did notice a «help wanted» sign on the window, too. — Actual place was decent, historic. The acoustics isn’t that great so if you are in the dining area with family and you have a few loud rowdy people at the bar, it becomes very loud. A minor nuisance for somebody like me — but — if you are older, or taking the kids out per se, this may not be the best place to try and converse with your family. :) Overall, the pizza was great and for that alone I’d return, or get carry-out. I can’t speak for everything on the menu, but they seem to have good food. **NOTE — for those coming here who are going to or coming from ARCADA across the street, please see my review for Arcada for pertinent information you will NOT see anywhere else. Long story short, you are being ripped off BIGTIME on ticket prices at Arcada, and the owners are very shady…

Ended up at Riverside after a show at Arcada. Not wanting to drive to other late night pubs, I made the quick decision to come here because we were hungry campers. Would not have been my first pick in lovely downtown St. Charles, but at 11pm on a Friday night, it was open and conveniently located across the street from the theatre. The good — they had pizza! In addition to alcoholic beverages. They don’t call it Riverside«Pizza and Pub» for nothing… Menu has your standard bar/pub offerings and LOTS to choose from although we couldn’t try any since the kitchen closed right when we arrived.(go figure). Entertainment did not stop at Arcada but continued throughout the night and it was free! We walked into a lively & somewhat inebriated crowd. Although I had a good buzz going myself, I couldn’t help but notice one woman trying to sit on some guy’s lap and«make-out» sessions were continuous… Heads-up — this is not your 20 something crowd, more like 40 something +. Comfortable amount of inebriate-rs, oops. I mean patrons ;) Seemed like a place where locals like to hang out. Most were seated at the bar. We sat ourselves at one of the many open tables. Cozy place with a definite pub feel… they also have a section upstairs. A Server from the bar came over to us fairly quickly and as soon as we inquired about the menu, we were told the kitchen just closed.(11pm, fyi). I had the munchies and missed dinner, so I was happy when he told us only pizza slices were available… that’s always music to my ears… We each got a cheese slice(around $ 4 per slice if I had to guess). Two drinks + 2 slices = $ 20. Pizza was decent, not bad. Little greasy. Crust was thicker than your average thin. Although it was satisfying, slices were on the small side… I probably could have eaten 2, and at $ 4/slice, they could’ve been more generous. It did start to get busier as the night went on. I had to flag down a waitress to get our check, otherwise service was friendly and drinks and slices arrived quickly. If your looking for some free entertainment(haha) and late night snacks, this isn’t a bad choice… we briefly spoke to one guy who happened to arrive after the concert — otherwise, I imagine more of a hangout for locals. I wouldn’t go out of my way to return just because there are SOMANY fantastic dining establishments in this vicinity(and pizza joints). They just close way too early. Super convenient spot if you need to park yourself somewhere after a visit to Arcada and it happens to be before(or after) 11pm — or plan on pizza with your drinks.

Not much to say about riverside. Quality was good mostly, until one, apparently busy night when wait times were longer than usual. Rather than give an honest timeline, reverted to their usual 45 min to an hour. My wife called to complain resulting in the Unilocal review from Katharine P. Tried to give them another shot tonight and they actually refused to deliver to me. And when I asked why a manager got on the phone and proceeded to tell me all of the reasons WHY he wouldn’t deliver to us. Including my wifes Unilocal review. A+ work Riverside.

The pizza is consistent and the toppings are generous. I prefer the deep dish and Chicago style to their thin crust. They are always on time and deliver with a welcome smile. It is good enough for me to bypass the local chain pizza(like Lou Malnati’s).

They have good pizza but bad customer service. I called this past Thursday to make reservations for four for Saturday and was told they don’t take reservations on the weekends but I should have no problem finding a table at our 5:30 arrival time. When I got there at 5:15 it was packed and what do my eyes see? A reserved sign on two tables. When I inquired, they said they take reservations for parties of 8 or more. Then 5 minutes later I watched them put another reserved sign on a table that couldn’t hold more than four people. When I asked about that, they just stared at me. Take out is your best bet here. The guys working hard in the kitchen deserve your business, not the people out on the floor.

My wife and I stopped in to get something to eat before a local concert. We went upstairs and were seated at a table. Soon, a waitress came over and told us that we would have about 30 minutes to eat because a group of 70 was coming in. There were no signs posted and we told the waitress that we thought our money was as good as anyone else’s. Rather than make an issue out of it, we went to another local restaurant and ate. This was probably our last visit to Riverside. It’s too bad to. We had spent allot of time there prior to this.

We went on a quiet Sunday night. Service was great. You could hear the nfl game on tv. Lots of beer specials. We ordered a thin pizza half pepperoni and half sausage. The pepperoni and sausage weren’t overly flavorful and didn’t overpower the flavor of the pizza. More on the bland side. The crust was not super thin, but not a thicker hand tossed variety either. It was crunchy and delicious, even crunchy down to the center pieces with a light dusting of cornmeal on the bottom. Pizza was pretty good. We will add it to our list of places to dine out.

Waitress took our order and then abandoned us. 1 hour 35 minutes still no food. As we were walking out I asked waitress why she never returned to which she replied«I wasn’t your waitress, I was just helping out». I have had some bad dining experiences, this maybe the worst. This place sucks. Would have preferred to just throw my money in the front door and keep walking.

Walked in, was never greeted or acknowledged. Stood there like an idiot for about 3 minutes & decided to leave. Apparently they didn’t want my money. That’s ok. Went to El Puente a few doors down & had a great cheap meal there instead.

Been here a couple more times since my last review it continues to be the best pizza place in Saint Charles. The soup Here is top notch place is clean people working here a great too. The older Spanish guy working there is a great employee. I highly recommend meatball and pepperoni pizza and Tuscan soup.

We’ve only been here once, for lunch, a weekday in the summer. The upstairs wasn’t open, that was a bummer. The waitress wasn’t very nice and clearly was bored, that was a bummer. The macaroni and cheese bites were so hot they took forever to eat and then were just okay, that was a bummer. We just got a plain cheese pizza, it was beyond greasy and not as good as a Jack’s frozen pizza, that was a bummer. Maybe it would be better to go when it’s busy, the action may improve the ambiance. And maybe a pizza with toppings would be a better idea too, I wanted to like this place, but I just didn’t.

My mom says you judge a restaurant by its salad. Well, the salad here is great and the Chicago Style pizza outstanding, plus they have Coca-Cola. The people are really nice and the atmosphere pleasant. All this adds up to 5 Stars for me.

Family get together at a new and hip pizza place in the heart of St. Charles. Staff was very accommodating to our need of three high chairs. They had originally set up four high tables with stools but after we told them what we needed, they had three or four staff members reset our tables. My wife and I knew we were getting pizza, so we ordered a 14″ thin crust sausage and pepperoni. It was cooked perfectly, very cheesy, spicy pepperoni, hearty sausage and a tangy sauce… everything a Chicago thin crust pizza should be. They have a great selection of beer and wine as well. Even though we live in the far north suburbs, I can easily see us making the trip out to STC again to eat this delicious pizza!
