Elite Sports Training is a huge warehouse type facility located just north of Xsport fitness on Randall Rd. The facility is new and clean, with a very friendly staff. I came here upon invitation from an acquaintance from my gym, for a boot camp style class he was teaching. The real draw was that the class was free, because it was an introductory special they were running. I was hesitant. I mean, I work out a lot and have tried tons of classes all over the area. however, you often don’t realize you’re in over your head until it’s too late. When I arrived, I was greeted by a young girl that had me sign a form with some basic information. There are some hooks located to the left of the entrance, but I didn’t see any type of lockers, so that can be a concern. The facility is wide open, so you can see your stuff at any time, but if you are focused on training, you can’t be watching your belongings. I brought in my coat and boots but left all valuables locked in the trunk. The boot camp class I took with Josh was tough. It wasn’t the most strenuous workout I’ve ever done, but it ranks up there. Also, I will say that I have never had such muscle soreness as I did in my traps the following two days. Josh had us start out by doing some foam rolling and stretching to loosen our muscles up. Our group was only four women, so we paired up and started out with a «crab walk» and«bear walk» type of race. OFCOURSE my girl(little sis) and I smoked the competition. and I was just getting warmed up. We went through sets of vigorous exercises including wall sits and what Josh called«Kane county jail» push ups(don’t ask).finished by a handful of grueling rounds of tug of war. I was absolutely exhausted and dripping sweat, but it was the kind of workout you leave feeling like a BAMF. Loved it. The downside to this facility is definitely the turf that blankets the entire training area. I completely understand, as a prior die hard softball girl I can see this facility is mostly rented out for baseball and softball indoor training. There were several groups of kids working with their coaches on the day I attended boot camp. If you’re here for a boot camp and doing a lot of work on your hands(push up/burpees etc), you can expect to finish with very sore palms. At the end of my class, I actually had two turf splinters. Fortunately, that is the only negative thing I can say about this place. Once I get to take a swing in the batting cages, Elite Sports Training may be bumped up to 5 stars in my book.
