Great food at a reasonable price. The tacos are great but my favorite is the poke. The perfect finish to an awesome lunch are the cocoloco cookies.

Exactly what you would hope a local food truck would be. The food is delicious, unpretentious, and affordable. Would highly recommend.

Nalu’s is a local staple of the community. Providing moderately priced Hawaiian and Tex-Mex fare from a small camper in a surf shop parking lot. It might not sound like the makings of a good dinner, but with the revolution of food truck dining sweeping the nation(or has it swept already?) Don’t let its appearance fool you. Nalu’s provides a delicious lunch with a quaint ambiance. It is literally at the entrance to the Anastasia state park, so if you want to have a little to look at while you eat, just hop in your car and take your lunch on the road. Within two minutes you can be overlooking a gorgeous sandy beach with the warm ocean air. The only drawback of this place is their steak. Just skip it. The fish and chicken options are amazing, their steak is overcooked and dry. I can’t really blame them, I guess I just hope too much, I mean, steak from a food truck? One can dream. TL;DR: Great food, local flavor, nice location, skip the steak.

We were happy to find this food truck. All 6 of us who ate there enjoyed the different dishes we got. They even have several vegetarian options for those who don’t eat meat. They also provide several sauces so you can customize the flavor(spice) to your liking. There are a few picnic benches so sit at as well.

We stopped there few times and had burritos, tacos and poke. The place is good and a reasonably fair value but no where near deserving of the hype. Poke was fresh and rather small serving in a styrofoam cup. Burrito wasn’t really fish loaded but beans loaded, and tacos heavy on cabbage side. No bad, just not really stunningly great either. Manu looks really promising, though, and they just about hit all my favorites. I imagine they do really well with surf shop near by and 808 vibe.

Great little food truck located right near the St. Augustine Lighthouse, Alligator Farm, Anastasia State Park, etc. I had the Baja Fish Tacos with beans and rice — delicious! Service was friendly and quick. There are picnic tables right next to the truck. For a nicer seating area, I walked over to the table on the back side of the parking area, next to the Surf Station building. There’s a wooden fence partition decorated with mermaid art, and there’s a bit of shade in the afternoon.

My favorite lunch in St. Augustine. It’s always a tough choice between the Ahi Burger, Baja Fish Tacos, and the Bay Bomb burrito. The Bay Bomb is usually my favorite post-surf meal — fresh, delicious, and hearty. The Ahi burger and Baja tacos are my favorite for the typical hot Florida afternoons. Add a side of avocado, a splash of hot sauce, and a chilled green tea and my weekend is complete!

Best food I’ve eaten in the state of Florida! I had ahi burger, my partner had tropical tacos and both were freaking amazing. The fish was fresh, the flavors were perfectly balanced. Couldn’t possibly have been better. Excellent value.

A Flagler College alum wholeheartedly recommended Nalu’s to us, so of course we had to check it out on the way into St. Augustine. The Tex-Mex menu is pretty extensive, with sea creatures and land mammals and veggie options, but since a growing line was forming behind us, we quickly decided on the specials of Baja shrimp tacos and tropical shrimp tacos. They were around $ 9.50 each. You place your order and then just wait until your name is called. There isn’t much seating, just two picnic tables behind the truck. Even though you’re sitting in a parking lot, handpainted pieces of wood hanging on the fence add charm to the dining area. It did look like most folks were toting their orders away from the area. The tacos were quite impressive. I was satisfied with the amount and size of shrimp in the tacos, cooked perfectly too. Instead of lettuce, there was cabbage. The mango pineapple salsa was lovely. There’s a little kick to the tacos but nothing a spice wimp such as myself couldn’t handle. I opted for the rice and beans side instead of the chips, and they were pretty delicious as well. Maybe a little expensive and I wish Styrofoam containers weren’t used, but I certainly wish I lived closer so I could try more of Nalu’s menu items!

If you are camping nearby this spot must feel like Nirvana. However, I made a stopover off of 95 and did not feel impressed. For a food truck, I expected either unique flavor or generous portions. Neither was true. Not bad but nothing special. I had the poke and the tuna was fresh. Not crazy with the use of undressed cabbage which added a slightly bitter flavor to the dish.

Great little roadside place. We asked about the name, and the owner said he used to live in Hawaii and named the place for the Hawaiian name for ocean waves. We had the fish tacos, and I loved how fresh his food was. We did have to spice it up with extra salsa since we lived in Houston for 9 years and love our food with extra kick. The owner referred to it as red sauce, but in actuality it’s pretty close to the pico de gallo we were used to in Texas. We would definitely eat here again if we were in the area.

Best fish taco and ahi tuna burger I’ve ever had hand down. Entrees are very filling, the soup is also great too. Everything is made fresh to order, all of the sauces and salsas are amazing. Make sure to get the coco loco bar for desert.

Quick and relatively cheap without skimping on quality. Easily above some of the cheaper competitors in town, i.e. Burrito Works and Chiptole(yes I went there). I’ve tried a few things on the menu and they’re all good so I’d say there is no going wrong.

This was a pleasant find after a visit to the St Augustine Lighthouse. They’re located in the parking lot of a surf shop and there are a few seats around. The people were friendly and accommodating, even to newbies. We got the Baja Fish Tacos and one of the specials, which was Steak Spinach Wrap. Both were incredibly tasty! We also got rice with the tacos and tried both their red and green salsas with chips. The rice was not what we expected, in a good way. As for the salsas, I preferred the green one a little more, but my dining partner liked the red one on the spinach wrap. So glad that we went away from the historic downtown area to try something different while visiting St Augustine.

Nalu’s is perfect is you’re going to or coming from the beach as its right between downtown and the beach. Get anything and it’s delicious, I usually go for the lower tressels tacos or any burrito. They’ve got cute little picnic tables outside the foodtruck to sit at while you wait for your food or to eat but I usually like to bring my food to the beach. I recommend you bring cash so you can tip the guys that work there cause they’re really nice!

Stopped in after exiting Anastasia State Park I have driven by this place several times and decided to drop in and try them out. We ordered two beef tacos just for a snack turns out it was an excellent choice the presentation although was in a styrofoam container was very appealing to the eyes. The taste was fresh make sure to get plenty of napkins they are a little wet but not soggy. They offer several bottled hot sauces which were tasty as well. I will definitely stop in again and try a few of their other offerings. I can see why this place is so popular so they earn a solid 3 stars.

I had all intentions of just camping out and grilling food over a fire at Anastasia Island State Park in St Augustine, Florida. However, after a long drive my boyfriend and I discovered a little trailer on the corner of Anastasia Blvd within walking distance of the campground. The sign read: «Voted best fish tacos on the beach, 2014 St Augustine, FL.» That seemed promising, so we gave it a shot. Little did we know(despite my skepticism of advertising) how true this really was. I had the Baja Fish tacos. Absolutely divine. The Mahi Mahi was fresh and perfectly seasoned. It was not only the best fish taco, I’ve ever had, but one of the best meals I have ate in awhile for the price of 8.75 which came with rice and beans. It was so good, we ate there for lunch the next day. It made an equal impression on my boyfriend. He even asked if they shipped to Indy. No such luck. Highly recommended. The food came quick, the staff was pleasant, and the price was right!

It’s Nalu’s. Therefore 5 stars. Best mahi mahi burrito’s; and fresh minced salsa. Will always be a St. Augustine staple.

I was in Anastasia State Park for an event, and asked a friend of mine from the area to recommend a good spot to eat. Without hesitation, she recommended Nalu’s. I convinced my group to drive to Nalu’s(we were already at another restaurant) and I must say I was disappointed. The fish WAS fresh and cooked well, but everything else was sub par at best. I ordered the pier right tacos and a side of salsa(almost $ 11). The salsa came in a little plastic container where restaurants put their sauces in. The flavor of the salsa was alright, but definitely not worth the price! The rice that came with my tacos was flavorless and sticky, the beans were hard, my chips were soggy, and the tacos did not have much flavor. The guys in the truck were great, but I think I would have gotten a better taco somewhere else. We left hungry. Cute little taco truck, but unfortunately I fail to see what the hype is about. Edit: I paid a $ 1 extra for salsa, when the meal was supposed to come with it anyway. I didn’t receive any salsa when I picked up my order, and when I asked for it afterwards I got two(there were three of us).

Nalu’s is a roadside stand next to the Surf Station on the way from Saint Augustine city to the beach. It’s nearby the Alligator Farm, in case you are going there for the day. And usually it’s next to a water ice(snowball) stand, but that was closed when I visited due to an illness in the family. Nalu’s is not fancy and does not have a lot of offerings. It’s good, but it’s not amazing so much that you would be dying to go back. Still, there aren’t a lot of great options after O’Steen’s and Nalu’s is always pretty solid. The fish is not fishy, the tacos are pretty good. It’s a great post-beach option, that is for sure.
