I took my golden retriever for a self serve bath today and I had the best experience! The girls working there are so sweet and helpful! My dog was way less stressed with me bathing her rather than a groomer. I’ll definitely be going back!!!

Such an intimate, organized, and customer service oriented store.
We were in and out because associate went above and beyond to help us and dig through the back to find what we needed (led light for an aquarium) and it was opened and little damaged and she offered discount which we were glad to take because we just needed the lamp. Wonderful store.

Fort Belvoir, VA
Dropped by unleashed, and was impressed with the attentive staff. Manager Amber absolutely gets 5 stars; she helped me pick out a new dog food, and even helped me load my car (I bought SIX bags b/​c the price was so good!!). I’ll be going back :)

There’s no way to prove it, but I believe 100% that my dog got a skin infection from the rubber curry when I used their dog washing station. The vet bill cost me $ 1700! I’ll shop here again, but never use the dog wash again. I’m not sure what their sanitation process is between dogs, but it obviously wasn’t enough.

Friendly staff and cheap place to bath your dog. Small selection though and the hairbrushes in the bath section always have hair in them. Also, went to a Halloween costume contest. 2 of the 3 winners were the manager’s friends. Boo!

It’s hard to find a local dog wash that cares about ‘cleanliness’…I know… hard to imagine but most place ‘smell’ of wet dog, or have dog hair flying all over the place. We needed to find a dog wash on a Sunday afternoon and after one google, I found Unleashed by Petco. This is Petco’s ’boutique’ store, where they tout all natural retail products. The big draw was their $ 10 dog self serve dog wash. This location off Rolling Rd was close to our home. The big drawback is that it was right next door to a big Giant grocery store, and parking was quite the challenge.
The staff was helpful, the tubs were clean, they had towels and products for our use, and the price was in our budget ($ 10). We did have some challenges with the water temp, it kept toggling to either too hot or too cold. They also have these towel racks that hit you in the head because they are mounted too close to the tub.
Other than those slight annoyances, everything was nice. We’ll certainly be back.

A great pet store that offers an alternative to the ginormous pet-​marts without sacrificing product variety and service. Unleashed offers a variety of pet foods and treats as well as a self-​service dog washing facility.

Unleashed is smaller than your typical pet store/​PetSmart, but they have a good selection for dogs and cats. My coworker was able to find a dog food here that she thought was out of production — of course her dog’s favorite food! She’s ecstatic she can get the food here and so is her pooch. I’m a cat person and I was able to pick up my cat food here as well (not sold in grocery stores), and they had a great selection of all natural foods — the products you’d find in the over-​priced-​all-​natural pet boutiques, but without the boutique attitude and pricing. The staff here is great and there have been a couple times where they didn’t have a product on the shelf, but quickly offered to look in back for it to see if it came in that morning’s shipment.

I like this store a lot. I have been in several times. They are very convenient, if you live in Lorton or Newington. They have holistic products. The staff is helpful. They have the do it yourself doggie bath, which is so cool. The only downside is that onetime the prices were wrong. Otherwise, excellent.
