Pad Thai was pretty tasty although the the choice of noodles was odd still a thumbs up.

First the good. The service and people are great, nice atmosphere, quick service and delicious food! The staff are excellent and really put on a good show for you! However, I won’t be going back to this place. I ordered a Hibachi Dinner Combo and wanted to split a side of brown rice with my party. The dinner combo’s are supposed to come with fried rice. But if you order a side for some reason they don’t give you the fried rice. Not a huge deal as I assumed it was an ‘upgrade’ or substitution. When I didn’t even get the brown at the end of the meal it capped a good night off. I complained and they offered to bring me an order after everybody had finished. Whats the point after everyone is done and ready to leave? Its bad enough I never got served the side but why take a part of the main dish away from me? Why would you order a side if you are going to get less of the main meal?

I came here with my family last week and it was fantastic! I must say we did have a short wait even though we made a reservation, but we also saw it was really busy so we didn’t mind. Our soup and salad came out very quickly and their ginger dressing is amazing, it’s not too sweet. Our hibachi chef was very well practiced. He interacted with my children and didn’t scare them too much. Our filet was cooked a perfect medium and had just enough seasoning. I would say overall this was one of my better hibachi experiences, I will defiantly be coming back soon!

A very pricy and low quality restaurant that I have ever been in the area. The food were ok, came with a small portion but a big price tag. The Mochi Ice scream was a rip off part, it was the exact one that came from typical Asian store freezer and I was charged for 10 times of the price for it. Not my kind of place to eat sushi… Yikes

Extremely disappointing experience. Arrived just before 3pm today after checking the website to verify lunch was served until 3:30pm. Was ignored at first and eventually brought to a hibachi table with the dinner menu. Questioned if it was still lunch, and was told lunch ends at 3. I informed the hostess that the website said 3:30 and received only a blank stare. We were then left to out own devices for nearly a half hour before we ordered drinks. Eventually we ordered food and the cook arrived less then ten minutes before 4pm. This is also when our soups finally arrived. Never got our salads. The show started and was just some spinning of a fork which he dropped. After that he spun it a few more times and that ended the show. No volcano and the only fire was the start when he was also prepping the table. The food was decent. We got the honey for 2. The scallops were sliced into at least 3 pieces each making them very thin and so it appeared more. After we finished eating it was about 10 mins before someone asked if we wanted a box. It was another 15 minutes of sitting before receiving our desert and having to ask for the check. First time I have gotten fried ice cream with a fork. Finally paid and leaving after spending more than an hour and a half waiting in total.

This is the last time I’m ever coming here!!! At the beginning seems wonderful, my family’s got served with drinks and appetizer. Then after we waited for our chef to come. As we waited for the chef to come we gaze around, we saw other crowds comes in an sat down across from us. The crowd across from us just got started with there drinks and their order. Then I noticed we waited for 20 min for our chef. As we waited again we saw the chef came towards us so we was excited«yes finally», but then when the chef came he didn’t comes towards us. He went across to the other crowd and served them instead. So we was thinking they had reserved the table already, so we ignored it. As we continue waiting and waiting our kids started getting hungry, we looked at the time was 1:30min wait. So we had enough!!! When we brought it to the managers attention he said sorry but did not give us any explanation. Then we told them the people across from us came in later and got served first and that it was wrong, no response. When he/she couldn’t say anything and was quiet, we figured they didn’t reserved a table but got served before us. That was so wrong!!! Because were Asian and we are nice. Yeah right biaatch bye! Never again I’m I coming here!

We enjoyed the grill where the chef out in a show while he cooked a wonderful dish. The atmosphere and food were wonderful. A gem of a restaurant located right at Allen and Cooley that should be missed. Great place to take friends Quiet great food.

This is a favorite of mine. I come here a lot and I love the sushi. The pad Thai is also very good. The only thing I’ve noticed it some of the portion sizes have gotten smaller.

The sushi was weird and mushy, and the tastes were indistinguishable. We never leave sushi on the plate, and we left a lot this time. The hand roll with spicy scallop and the sashimi was fine but it doesn’t make up for the mushy rolls(lobster, Tokyo, fantastic, angry dragon and out of control roll). Don’t go for the mushi here.

I love to go here for great Japanese food. It is a little overpriced, so I visit rarely, maybe 3 or 4 times a year.(I usually visit western mass. 15 – 20 times a year as I have close family here) The spider roll is THEBEST. I get it almost every time. I have only been here once before for hibachi, and it was good quality food, but again, overpriced.

I used to come here with friends for sushi or hibachi, but no more. They like t o lose your reservation if you call ahead. Terrible service. Don’t count on your scorpion bowl to get to you on a busy night, and don’t expect any sympathy if you complain to a manager. Also, just so you know, they«clean» the hibachi grill with a bucket of reused vinegar water and a rag. After all of that, they have the nerve to charge you the gratuity on your large, very unhappy party.

Now this spot is almost on the Longmeadow/Springfield line but this spot for those who like this style of restaurants won’t be let down in any shape or form because it delivers. The service is prompt & ready to serve & if any issues come about will rectify so you’re not left a bad taste. bar is set with spirits & beers & yes the Japanese staple sake. The do multi sorts of cuisine whether be Japanese, Chinese or even Thai & this is all very good, fresh & deserts are very up there as well so no issue with me & if you call with a party for Hibachi style you’re all set.

I had the great pleasure of introducing my niece Lexie to Japanese food. She really enjoyed it. This restaurant is staffed by courteous and well-trained servers who were very helpful in helping Lex to make a selection. The interior is nicely done without being tacky. My Teriyaki tofu was excellent, as was my miso soup, and Lexie really liked her chicken with mixed vegetables. Only one caveat — the service was a bit leisurely.

I’ve always enjoyed dining at Tokyo with large groups of friends, but there are definitely a few areas that could be improved upon. 1) The food is always tasty, especially hibachi, but the portions are noticeably smaller than the portions at other hibachi restaurants. For the amount they’re charging, they should up the portions. 2) I’ve never been terribly impressed with their service. If you go in with a large group they will only split the check if you keep tabs on everything you order and write it down for the waiter. Everything seems to be a bit slower, and food never comes out at the same time. Their redeeming qualities are that their sushi, and all food for that matter, are quite tasty. I also enjoy their beverage options, but they need to work on servicing their customers better.

Went out tonight with my wife to celebrate my birthday and decided to try out tokyo. We came in on a sat evening around 6pm, got right in and seated right away. We ordered drinks, my wife had wine and i had a lychee martini which sounded tasty, well it ended up tasting a bit like non cherry or grape flavored cough syrup. Wouldnt order it again. We started off with the sweet heart roll and a rock and roll maki as an appetizer and they were great! The sweet heart roll consisted of spicy tuna and avacado with temura flakes w rice wrappend in rice paper and fresh tuna… it was easily one of the best maki rolls we’ve ever had! Finally we split a dinner. We ordered the thai mango chicken w white rice. This is where the evening came to a screeching halt. While she and I both expected this beautiful rice bowl with chicken pieces and sauce in the style of say a generals tso chicken we got a plate of plain breaded fried chicken breast sliced into strips, a pile of mashed potatoes with some pieces of asparagus and a bowl of what we assume was the mango sauce. We also then had a seperate bowl of white rice on the side. Yup double starch at a chinese place. We both looked at each other like wtf is this? I honestly thought they brought us the wrong meal until my wife tried the sauce. This looked like a dinner that could have been served out of a hospital cafeteria. Generic, disjointed, uninspired, medíocre fare for $ 13 …wouldnt have paid more than $ 5 if it wasnt for not wanting to spoil my birthday by complaining, not that i could have even had the chance as my waiter all but disappeared by this point and we had to rely on the occasional passing server to get us more cocktails and had to physically walk over to their togo counter to pay my bill after waiting so long to pay. My recommendation here is sit at the bar or sushi bar and stick to sushi and drinks you know or possibly go for hibachi as it seemed like the crowd there seemed to enjoy themselves. Myself…probably wont be back there for anything more than a sushi night. *this was my second visit here. The first was also good sushi but an overcooked and mushy pad thai. Again nobody comes by after food is served to see how it is so either eat it or not. Disappointing

Every time I go to Tokyo it always seems to be a long process that starts as soon as you walk in the door with my last visit being no different. We walked into the door around 6:45 on 7÷30÷2014, there was no one at the host stand and we had to wait almost 10 minutes to be sat. We were led to some dining room annex area where there was no silverware, soy sauce, or table settings on any of the tables; within the next five minutes, three more tables were sat in our section without us even being greeted by our server — being in a quadruplely sat section you should know your in for a LONG haul. The server came in and didn’t know who to help first so he went according to the table closest to him to furthest… guess who was at the last table??? Me. I tried saying that we were here first, however he just kept taking the drink orders and came to us last. When I asked him what was going on with the service tonight, he said they were understaffed… shocker. We asked to place our entire order in at once to save him(and us) the time of having to wait for him to come back, however he said he couldn’t do that? We ordered some sushi apps and Chicken Katsu — After about 20 minutes, the Chicken came while the sushi was mysteriously absent. I asked the server where the apps were and he said the kitchen was backed up because they had to deep fry some stuff… odd because none of our rolls had tempura in them. The sushi finally came out when we finished the Chicken dish, it was falling apart and didn’t look like it had been prepared correctly — it certainly wasn’t worth the price of $ 15/per roll. I asked to speak to a manager to be told that there wasn’t one on duty… I have given this place a few chances in the past but this was the last straw — I will not be coming back to this place again. The only reason I am not giving a one star review is because the Chicken Katsu was very good.

i was pleasantly surprised by this place. from the outside i expected just a well maintained place but the inside was very nicely done. it has a warm modern design to it with dark woods and tile flooring. the host was friendly and we were helped by a friendly waitress. we got several dishes all tasting great and priced well for the portions. the party next to us was having a hibachi meal, which seemed fun. i would recommend this place.

My favorite place for sushi, they have a great selection too. Also a cool hibachi place to where they put on a show, the hibachi food is great too. The service is off and on, sometimes good sometimes bad, but never great. It is a little pricy but worth it.

OMG! We had so much fun at this place! Went with my daughter and grandsons for dinner one night. I had no clue what to expect when they asked for seating in the«Mongolian» Room, but I was in for a real treat. Flying, frying eggs, Saki squirting dolls, Saki bombs for those old enough(and willing) to consume them. Enough food to feed a small… no, medium sized Army, no, Navy… No… Army. Well, both Services were represented so we will leave that alone and just say there was plenty of food to go around. Our Chef was fun, funny and entertaining. He had us laughing from the moment he walked up to the last grain of rice that we were served. The cost was reasonable and worth every single penny we paid. If you’re looking for delicious, fun, FUNNY, entertaining, Mongolian Grill, this is the place to go. You won’t regret it.
