I took my wife and children to Tin Lizzy’s yesterday for Mother’s Day dinner. We got there about 5:00 pm and we were the only customers in a restaurant that seats probably 150 people. That should have been our first clue. We left about 6:00 and were still the only people there in the restaurant. When our food was brought out, my wife’s dinner was wrong and she told the waitress. The waitress said it was right, she just called it by the wrong name. My wife ate 3 bites of the dish and the waitress came back and my wife told her again it was the wrong dish. The waitress checked what she wrote down and said it was right. My wife didn’t eat any more of what she was served. By the time me and the kids were finishing our dinners the waitress came back and again my wife said that the dish was wrong. The waitress went to read the menu and then went in the kitchen. She came back and said she keyed in the wrong item in the computer. She asked my wife if she liked the dish, my wife stated no-she only had three bites, the plate was still full. The waitress then said, «Well, I guess I’ll have to pay for it,» and then mumbled something else we couldn’t understand. When she brought the check out, she flung it down in front of me and sulked off. The manager or owner came up to the table and asked what had happened. We explained my wife was served the wrong dish. He asked why didn’t we tell the waitress before my wife began to eat. We told him she did and the waitress stated it was the right dish. I don’t think he ever apologized for what happened. He did offer to have the correct meal sent out, but my wife declined afraid the waitress would spit in her food, and by the waitress’s behavior I wouldn’t have put it past her. My wife did state that was our first and very likely our last visit there. He was sorry to hear that and hoped we would give them another try. The waitress never apologized to my wife for the mistake or ruining her Mother’s Day dinner. My only recommendation for this place is stay away.
