The pizza is pretty good but a bit pricey for the quality. The best part is the little store. They sell locally bottled wines, and this was quite a nice surprise.

Good place. Good people and food! With the snack shop on the other side there are a lot of options for drinks etc. We got pizza and breadsticks, it was all good. If you’re passing through its a good place. Or if you live here!

Oh the Barn! Great pizza, always made fresh. Plus there’s the store next door for snacks and smokes. There’s not a lot of seating inside, but it is a cozy little spot. I’ve enjoyed tons of pies here with friends. It’s definitely worth the price.

We didn’t have pizza, but sandwiches. They weren’t bad, however many of the items listed on this menu weren’t there. They have mini tacos, but no salsa or taco sauce for them. The ambiance could be better also. The sandwiches weren’t bad, but the mini tacos were over-cooked.

At one time this was my favorite Springfield pizza. It’s still pretty solid and they load the toppings. I definitely like the fact that it is a local small business as well. I had rather poor dine-in service with a skinny brunette employee a few years ago, but haven’t seen her since so I presume ownership realized her bad attitude combined with bathing in perfume was running off business. New competition in the area presents a unique challenge– you risk alienating your loyal customers with any radical changes, but can’t rest on your laurels either. Where The Barn seems to fall short is the crust– most likely brought in frozen, although they bake it correctly. They also no longer(at least as of yesterday) have the round sausage which were about ½″ in diameter and full of zest and flavor. Instead now it is messy sausage crumbles that look similar to Cassano’s but I found very bland– almost flavorless. It’s still a solid pizza, but not as good as it once was on its own merits. Toss in that new competition and I would only recommend for the die-hard loyal.

We were in Springfield today and needed a place to eat. I saw that The Barn had some decent reviews, so we thought we’d try it on our way out of town. Upon entering, you could tell it was your«hole-in-the-wall» pizza joint. It’s on the lower level of a large building; on the left side is the pizza joint and on the right side is a mini mart. You sink down in to the booth seats; there are TVs all around the eating area with a different sporting event on each one; and laminated menus on the tables(some were just pieces of paper). We ordered breadsticks and a medium veggie pizza with all the olives on one side :) The breadsticks came out fairly quickly and there were EIGHT(8) of them! A meal in-and-of-itself! They were good, not spectacular. They had something like a garlic crumble on top and they came with one of three types of dipping sauces(butter, cheese, or pizza sauce). The pizza was ready shortly after and it came out on foil and looked like a thin crust pizza. When bitting into the pizza I quickly realized it wasn’t really thin crust pizza, but soft and chewy. Both myself and my friend felt like it wasn’t homemade pizza dough. The pizza was good, but, again, nothing special. Coming from larger cities, I didn’t feel like The Barn pizza was anything special and I could take it or leave it. Next time I’m in Springfield, I’ll try a new place. Pics to come soon… NOTE: if you want to leave a tip on the credit card, you need to let them know PRIOR to them processing your credit card. Otherwise, the signature sheet will not print with a tip line on it…

I was recently at The Barn again and I still love it, but I want everyone to know that you can’t leave a tip on your card! Our server was really nice and when I realized that I had no option of leaving his tip on my card I was glad that I saw the ATM in the adjacent grocery store.

Well, we were in town for my nephews rodeo and since I have an addiction for hometown pizza, I jumped on Unilocal. What did I find? The Barn. They have a decent website that does a fine job of describing their items. I called them up on a Friday night and a very nice lady took my order and told me only 20 minutes! ! That is super quick for a weekend night. From our hotel, It took me about 15 minutes to get there and on the way, I had to stop at an ATM to get cash as I asked the nice lady if they took plastic and she informed me their machine wasn’t working, They have a very handy drive up window and with every large pizza I received a 2L of pop(which she got out of the cooler!) and even gave me some paper plates upon request. My order was ready and hot when I got there and the nice lady was even nicer in person! The pizza: The crust, while tasty is neither thin nor thick. It is somewhere in between which in my own personal pizza wants can be a no no. It. It was done properly which can be a problem with to thick a crust. We ordered the Super Cheese & Pepperoni(which if you want to sound like a local, call it the ‘Super’). Super Cheese? Sure. Plenty of what I assume is 100% mozzarella which, while delicious, turns rubbery pretty quick upon cooling. I prefer a mixed cheese of provalone and mozzarella that stays a little more pliable, but it was still good. The sauce seemed to be straight out of a can. Not bad, not good, just sauce. Super Pepperoni? Maybe not. I felt it was an adequate amount but not what I would call ‘Super’. The kids got a ham, sausage and pepperoni. The little sausage balls went rolling everywhere but they ate it just fine and it received good reviews from the tweens. And then the most unique of items on their menu, a deep fried calzone called the pizzaritto. I had to have one! My oldest nephew and I ate most of it. It was very good. I would love to have one fresh while eating in, as I am sure it would be even better. When I started writing this review, I had the stars at 3. I wish they would let you give half stars it really need 3−½. I will change it to 4. The kids got up this morning and ate the rest of the pizzaritto and a few pieces of the pizza cold. The next morning cold gives them another star, as does the kindness of the staff. All in all, I will go back on a later trip the rodeo, but I will still keep hunting for the perfect pizza of Springfield. If this is the best they have to offer, it is fine. But if their is better, I want to find it. BOILITDOWN– you like medium thickness the it is PERFECT. If you are more of a thin cruster, then move on. The topping was almost plentiful and it was done enough to suit me which is a difficult thing without me saying ‘nice and brown on the crust’. Free pop is a good thing and the staff is very courteous. I will be back. thanks for reading! As for out my adorable nephews videos at youtube search killer facemyer !

As pizza goes… not too bad. I don’t know if I would say it’s the best pizza in Springfield, but I’ll certainly go back.

This is easily the best pizza in Springfield, probably the best pizza in the world. The owner, Dave, could not be friendlier and is right there in the trenches working with his crew. The last time the six of us piled into the intimate little dine in area he bussed our table and brought around samples of a new pizza for us to try. The world would be a far better place if there were more businesses like The Barn — where people know you and remember you and care about you, and serve an excellent product. If you’re a meat eater, the Super Cheese and Pepperoni is outstanding… but you can’t go wrong with any of their many offerings, including sandwiches, appetizers and deli items.
