Springfield Yellow Cab Co

Just to write about my experiences with Springfield Yellow Cab. I’d say about 90% of the time I get into one of your cabs there is an issue with using a credit card. One of two things happens. The driver whines and complains about you paying with a credit card, their cab company rips them off on the fees, makes them wait for payment, etc. OR they say the machine is broken and either writes the number down and makes me wait while he calls in to someone to run the card, or they take an extra 5 minutes using the manual machine and takes an imprint of the card. Either way, as a consumer, I don’t care!
Springfield Yellow Cab has lost my business. I’ve been using your company for maybe 10 years? Not anymore, I have a small credit card reader that plugs into my phone and it has worked 100% of the times I’ve used it. Your credit card machine works less then 10% of the time. Coincidence? Why bother with this every time I get into one of your cabs when I can just take über or lift? In the event I do need to take a cab and Springfield Yellow Cab is the next one in line, I’ll wait rather than to have to listen to the whining and complaining and deal with the hassle!!!
You guys suck!

Trip from Springfield to DCA was rock solid. Arrived 5 mins early, courteous driver, smart route during rush hour traffic, safely to DCA departures, and zero bs. I’ll choose them again.

I really wish I had read the reviews before getting a cab from this company. I needed a cab from Woodbridge to the Springfield metro and booked a taxi through Springfield Yellow Cab in the early morning for later that evening.
The customer service on the phone was fine, but the driver was 35 min late and the cab REEKED of smoke. Before ordering the cab I had made sure over the phone that they accepted credit cards, so imagine my surprise when I get ready to pay and the driver pulls out a credit card slip to write on (because apparently they think it’s still 1998). Fine, I’m already 45 minutes late — because the driver had to stop and get gas too — so what’s another 5 minutes. As we’re finishing up our transaction, I sign for the amount of the fare and didn’t add tip because I was going to pay the tip in cash. The driver notices I didn’t add tip and starts pressuring me to add a tip amount. Un-​freaking-​believable! This guy is so lucky I’m bad at remembering names, otherwise I would have called the company directly to complain.
Bottom line: if you have a choice, don’t give your money to this company. There are so many other taxicab options in the Northern Virginia area.

Can showed up late, took me to the wrong place, stopped for gas and then made me pay for the entire fair? A $ 25 ride became a $ 50 ride? Fuck this company. I’ll never use them again

I really wanted to like Springfield Yellow Cab because one of their drivers lives in my neighborhood and I like to support local businesses. Unfortauntely they failed to show up on time, so 20 minutes after they were supposed to arrive I just asked a friend to give me a ride.

I’m actually surprised about the bad reviews. I use them frequently, as I travel on business about 6 – 8 times a year. The drivers have always been nice and extremely courteous. Never had an issue with them being late. In fact, they are most often early.

TERRIBLE! UNRELIABLE! DO NOT USE THIS TAXI SERVICE!!! I had scheduled for a pick up to be taken to a medical procedure. I allowed 20 minutes lead time for the pick up. The drive messed it up. My reservation clearly should my address and it showed SOUTH as the direction for my street. The driver’s programmed my address in his GPS as NORTH. After waiting 20 minutes, I called the cab service, they said the taxi would be at my location in 5 minutes. TEN MINUTES LATER… I received a call from the taxi driver wondering where I was located. I could barely understand his English. I had to talked him to my location, I was late to my appointment because of this taxi company.

Left us stranded!!! My group of 4 called for a cab to take us from an address in Herndon to Dulles. We needed to be picked up from the Herndon address about 7:20 in order to make our flight. I called Springfield Yellow cab at 6:00 pm asked if they could make this drive, even though they are located in Springfield. They assured me they could. At 7:05 I called them to let them know we were all congregated at the appointed location and ready to be picked up. They told me they hadn’t located a cab for me yet!!! Finally at 7:30 we made other arrangements. Springfield Yellow cab began calling me at 7:50 — a full 30 minutes past our appointed time. They charge if you are late. but apparently they can leave you stranded with no impunity. I won’t use them again.

Hey springfield yellow cab, can you stop screwing over your drivers with 7% charge on credit cards so I can actually do credit card. The drivers ALWAYS complain about it… it’s annoying.
HOWEVER, that being said. They have the nicest drivers statistically. You’re looking at a ¹⁄₃ chance of a douche driver. Far better than the other taxis in the areas ²⁄₃ douche rates

Let me tell you about these douchebags. My brother is a cancer survivor on full disability. he’s so messed up he can’t drive. He lives in springfield, va. His companion animal, a cat, got bit and has a huge infection. He lives on $ 680 a month plus food stamps. So I find a vet 1.8 miles from his house on rolling road and set it up so I can pay the vet for the cat via credit card (I live in california). I call these guys to order a cab for him (based on google maps, it’s a $ 9.75 trip). I have the appointment for 5 hours before I call. These morons absolutely refuse to take my plastic, insisting that the only way they’ll do it is if he has the plastic! End of the month, he doesn’t have $ 20 to his name. So, no vet, cat not treated, these idiots blew the whole thing.
If there ever was a case for Über or Lyft, this company made it in spades! Never ever again!

While the cab arrived in short order after being called, there was clearly a communication problem. I said «National Airport»; the driver heard «The most expensive route!»
We left Sheey Ford on Loisdale rd, Springfield. I told the driver to take Glebe road. He said «this way faster». I said, «Take Glebe.» He passed Glebe, and took the interstate. I was following the route on my phone, and as soon as he passed Glebe, I saw the miles to the destination shoot up by 3 miles.
At least give the passengers a choice: faster or shorter.
And, to add one point, I don’t see Yellow Cab defending against ANY of these allegations on here or other sites.
I hope he doesn’t spend his .15 tip all in one place.

As I sit here in Union Station, I stew. Having just missed my 5:30 am train to NYC, I have about an hour to kill before the next available train and I’ve decided to take this time to try and figure out what went wrong. I guess my first mistake was calling Springfield Yellow Cab 24 hours in advance to schedule a pickup time that would allow me 45 minutes to take an easy, 30 minute trip. Big mistake. After going downstairs and seeing no cab in sight at the scheduled time, I figured I could give them the courtesy of a few extra minutes before calling in to ask for an ETA. After 3 or 4 minutes, I called in and was told «Our driver is running just few minutes late this morning». And here I thought the idea if pre-​scheduling of a pickup time the day before might prevent any need for ‘running’, silly me. Little did I know just how much running would actually be involved, literally.
I’m giving them 1 star for balls. After the driver eventually showed up 15 minutes late, he ran his meter while we idled in the cash toll lanes, he ran red lights, he ran stop signs … and I ran for my train, only to watch it pull away as I ran up the platform. Finally, Amtrak ran my credit card for an additional «no show» charge and reservation change fees.
If you’re thinking about using Springfield Yellow Cab, don’t walk away — RUN!!!

Did not make scheduled time. Did not call to let us know. Scheduled a pickup to be driven to the airport for 6 PM on a Sunday night. At 6:05 PM, I called them to check on the cab. They said, without apology, that they were trying to get me a cab. I would have expected that they would have notified me prior to 6:00 that they were not going to make it on time. I told them to cancel the reservation and had my wife drive me. At 6:06 PM, we received a call from Springfield Cab and they indicated, non-​chalantly, that the cab was on the way. My wife asked how long (5 minutes would have been OK). They said, 15 – 20 minutes. You would think in this kind of business that the company would understand the importance of time, especially when someone has arranged for a ride to an airport. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I will not allow them to fool me again.

This Springfield Yellow Cab was at the head of the line of taxi cabs when we arrived at the West Falls Church Metro station. We had a nice chat with the driver about the hybrid that he was driving as an independent. Our trip to the hotel was a bit faster and cheaper than the evening prior.

This is THE WORST company… I made arrangements 4 days prior for them to pick me up at 4am for a flight. The night before my flight, I called to confirm and they said I was «all set.» At 3:45 I called to make sure a driver was on the way and I was told there were no drivers available and I wouldn’t be accommodated until 4:30 or later. I don’t even understand how they are still in business.

Due to me being hit in an auto accident which resulted myself w/​a broken leg & a totaled car, I reserved a cab ride online @ 9:30 am the day before to pick me up in w. Springfield & take me to my dr. in Burke, a 4mile ride basically! 9:35, i call them to ask why isn’t my cab here to take me to my 10:15 appt!
What I was told: «We cannot find a cab to come to your location»! I call back @ 10am, the same answer even though I made reservations the day before & I only live like 6miles from the Springfield metro station. You mean to tell me it’s that damn difficult to make abt a 10 mile trip?! Glad my dr. didn’t charge me for a no show!
You would’ve thought I was calling them from Orlando, like im that damn far! Springfield yellow cab=simpletons! Unacceptable!

I have never had a worse experience than I just did with a cab company. The man answering the phone was rude, dismissive, and didn’t care what I needed. Then I had to wait in the car for 20 min while the driver called the taxi company to authorize my card, and borrowed my pen. Worse experience ever, I will never use them again… I’d rather walk home.

I’ve only used them once as I usually drive to the airport, but I have to say I am really, really confused with the poor rankings. One has to question why a person uses them for four years, has a bad exprience & gives them one star.
The ONLY negative was the estimate on line was $ 30 & it ended up costing up $ 40 (Burke to Reagan).
No problems at all with the dispatcher — the driver arrived within 5 minutes of the estimated time. We say the driver pull up, so he didn’t have a chance to call.
When he got there, he immediately hopped out, opened the door for us, used a towel to wipe the seats (I guess to get dust off as they were spotless) & opened his trunk. When he saw us with bags, he came at got them promptly
This was the cleanest newest cab that I’ve taken in quite a while in this area. The driver was very courteous, professional, and a good driver.
I will definitely call them again the next time I use a cab in the area.

I lived in Alexandria for a year. I never rely on Springfield Yellow. I try to call Alexandria Yellow but being on the other side of the bridge. I can take there cab. Every one own there own cab. by doing that their heating there own company. To many hot head and jude mental. They chose who they pick up. People in wheel chair hard time in getting around. Some are very helpful but over all say in Arlington County and they have a good amount of company in cab easy to pick witch cab to pick you up.

First review: I did not have any issues with this company. This is my first time using them but the dispatcher was friendly enough and the cab driver was nice. They called when they were out front. Prices were the standard cab fare for the area.
Second Review: the first time I rode with this company I would’ve given them a 4. This morning however I had a completely different experience. The cab driver showed up and didn’t even get out of the car to open the trunk or anything for me to put me luggage in so I threw it in the back seat. Then, he tried scamming me by telling me that the metro was backed up today and that he should probably just drive me to the airport. Well, I checked out the metro status and knew he was lying so I just had him take me there. That cabbie just lost this company a customer.
