My family loves this place and has been going for 15+ years! Any idea where they are re-opening?

Ever since I was little my mom would get us soup from this pizzeria and take loads of it home with her. It is absolutely the best soup I’ve had to date, that includes soups from around the world and at five star restaurants. I keep coming back to this pizzeria to fill up on soup even though i live far away. They make it from scratch in house. It’s the chicken and rice soup and it almost tastes creamy even though it has no cream. It’s very heathy and I recommend getting the large. Absolutely incredible.

This place is one of our regular haunts. We always get the friendliest service. It’s not a fancy place at all. It shows a bit of age, but it’s comfortable and we’ve never had a bad meal there. Entrees, sandwiches, salads are all first rate. Real nice salad bar. Several TVs to watch if you’re in to it. We’ve eaten here for breakfast many times and there’s no place I’d rather go. Much better than your local IHOP. I believe in keeping the money we spend local. As long as Springfield Pizza is still in business, we’ll still eat there.

Found this little diner by accident, we were at the ups store and it was right next door lol. We decided to try it out for lunch and found it was much more than pizza. My wife had the turkey Ruben and it was all kinds of amazing, I had what they call the hound dog, which was 2 Nathan hot dogs, Chilli, cheese, bacon & onion wrapped in a tortilla… sounds crazy but it was ridiculous Good! The service was great and the price was very good!

This is my favorite home-style bang for the buck comfort food restaurant. It should always be number one in the Washingtonians cheap eats listing because you get great food at low prices. Parking is easy, staff is friendly and attentive, booths are comfortable, and the food is great. The menu is huge but my favorites are the veal parmesan, gyro platter, any pasta dish, the excellent pizzas, and all the specials. Here’s a few photos to let the food speak for itself. It’s very family and kid friendly as groups often meet for pizza parties while still having large booth space for couples and intimacy. Take your $ 30 and have a feast for two.

Good food. Large menu. Never disappointed. Sandwiches and grinders are the best. Has a diner feel with TVs and booths. Good kids menu too.

We like the clientele, much less crowded then other breakfast hot spots in the area. The location is nice the parking is easy and we like the new booths(don’t get me started on the old booths) The food here is okay. Mostly good occasionally somewhat bland. The breakfast buffet is dismal. The waitstaff is mostly rough, sometimes inappropriately loud and overly informative.(So my Dr said…) The more regular you are the better they seem to treat you. This place has a lot of potential it’s just not our first or second choice… We still go back once in a while.

It’s just not that good. I had gyros, my wife had waffles. My gyro meet was seasoned well, but it was dried out. The fries were soggy as well. On top of that, my wife’s waffle was just not good. I can’t pinpoint what was wrong with it exactly, but it was super heavy and lacked the crispness you want in a good Belgian waffle. Service is very friendly and good, but better diner food can be found nearby. I should also point out that while it is true this is a whole in the wall, the place looks more like a converted bodega than it does a friendly restaurant. The way they have it arranged means the entry area has an industrial feel to it. So bottom line – the food isn’t inedible, but it’s not great either and the atmosphere doesn’t have that friendly American diner sort of atmosphere. I would probably recommend Olympians on Beulah and Telegraph Road for a place nearby that follows the same theme(note – no breakfast at Olympians) for lunch/dinner but executes it much better.

Exhausted from a long work day, I walked from the hotel over to the nearby shopping plaza and thankfully found Springfield Restaurant & Pizzeria. There’s not much to be initially impressed with when walking in, but don’t let its basic looks deceive you. I was seated at a booth and had some trouble deciding what to order from their variety of Italian and Greek menu options. When I saw my waitress set down a freshly baked pizza on the table next to me, I quickly made up my mind and ordered a meat-lovers mini pie. There was nothing ‘mini’ about it once it arrived, sliced into four large pieces. With some additional Parmesan cheese and hot peppers thrown on and a side order of homemade ranch dressing(probably one of the best I’ve ever had) for my crust, I inhaled ¾ths of it there and took the last slice to go. My waitress was very sweet and personable, leading to a generous tip from me for such excellent service and the cost was very affordable for such a large serving size. Great place overall!

This is a place you can easily miss if you don’t live around the area and even if you do(like myself) it can still be overlooked but boy am I glad I was just driving for fun one day until i came across it. It’s a little hole in the wall place that serves an array of food you’d NEVER imagine. Another thing you may not expect is how good the food is. I was born and raised in NJ so I’ve been around the best pizzas most of my life but this place is up-to-par! I am SO happy about it too because I’ve complained for years about there not being a decent pizza joint in Northern, VA(I now know of 2) but the menu is impressive with dishes ranging from Greek food, to Italian food, to comfort food, BBQ, Steaks, Chops, Seafood, just about everything and they are good about customizing things for you with no additional charge. The staff is the best I’ve come across, they are warm, open and friendly and they always seem to have a good time actually working there. They seem to have smiles on their faces all the time and they are really helpful. I feel like I am eating amongst family and friends when I come here because the regulars who eat there are also very friendly. It’s a nice little place and good for EVERYONE I highly recommend this place. My personal recommendations: White Pizza Veggie Supreme Pizza Meatlovers Pizza Beef brisket sandwich Chicken tenders Chili Cheese Fries Calzone Steak and Cheese (anything with grilled chicken in it since it’s to die for, it’s like a charcoal grilled chicken) Turkey Reuben(oh my Goodness) Chocolate Torte Plain sugar-free cheesecake Yes it’s a lot of recommendations but I’ve got a list of things to try and those are what I’ve had so far and I can attest that they are amazing. They also have a breakfast buffet on weekends and lunch buffet during the week! Everything is also very affordable too. This place is phenomenal.

My grandmother-in-law took us here for breakfast Sunday. She has been coming here for 20 years. Hole in the wall. Don’t be put off by simple, out-dated décor. Great prices — Almost everything on the breakfast menu was under $ 10. Good breakfast(haven’t tried anything else yet) BEST sausage links I’ve had in a long time. Clean Friendly, attentive service. Family-owned and operated. Beats a chain any day.

Been coming here since I was a little kid and now that we live out of town it’s a must for when we return for a visit. Maybe a little bit of nostalgia but the food is consistent and great and the service is great. Note: I have yet to find a ranch dressing that is better anywhere. I repeat: anywhere. They make it fresh in-house so if you get lunch/dinner make sure to add the salad bar and try it.

They have incredible pasta. They have incredible pizza. They have incredible burgers, subs. Their steak is not too bad. I’ve been going to this place since I was little. My family brought me to this place as a little kid. I used to hate it as a kid, but now as adult, it’s amazing. It’s a must when in the area. Staff is very friendly, never had a problem with the food.

We’ve only been here for breakfast, so I can’t comment on their other offerings. Also, if you want a deal, DoubleTake Deals offers $ 15 for $ 30 at the restaurant, which is how we discovered them. It’s a very casual diner atmosphere, and they seem to have a lot of dedicated clients. At times, they seemed a little busy with two waitresses running around the entire dining room, but they never did a terrible job. The food was decent. I had the french toast my first time, which was really delicious. On our second visit there, I ordered the Greek omelete, which I didn’t care for as much and had me wishing I stuck with the french toast. However, I am not a big egg person, and I typically do regret ordering an omelette. My husband, an egg lover, didn’t find his omelette to be impressive, but instead rather ‘basic.‘ That being said, I think if you’re looking for the basic breakfast essentials in a diner style format, the Springfield Restaurant & Pizzeria will fit the bill. The pricing is reasonable, as well.

One of the best Caesar salads I’ve had! We got a discount for staying at the Holiday Inn which is across the street. The employees where very friendly as well.

Great American diner. Nothing really original on the menu, but they have all of the diner classics, plus some Greek and Italian food. The prices are very fair. Usually very busy. Lots of TVs to watch football on. Every TV has a different game, so be careful where you sit if there’s a particular game you want to see

I really enjoyed this place, and after reading the other reviews, wanted to provide some QA to comments. — Service has always been attentive, and if anything, too much so, as at times I would dine by myself and just want to enjoy the paper or my book — The Food is high quality most of the time. I have eaten there a dozen times since moving to the area a month ago, rehabbing my house and without a kitchen I needed a reasonably priced«Go to» Place. — The desserts are STELLAR. — Pizza was very good. — The ambiance is unpretentious, they are not trying to be romantic or blow you away with their modern décor. — It does NOT smell like stale smoke. My family joined me last week and I brought them(in laws, wife, 2 kids) there. They enjoyed it so much they went again without me for breakfast and raved about how good it was. My review was initially 4 stars — I added the 5th after they took such good care of my family, strangers in a strange land.

Went here on fathers day for the all you can eat brunch and paid 16.95 for cold and nasty food. Very disappointed and will never come back here again. The staff was very attentive but the food was horrible.

I love this place. It’s a piece of Americana. Great place for casual lunch or dinner. Staff is very friendly and attentive. They offer a salad bar and standard American restaurant offerings plus fresh pizza. I love their tuna salad sandwiches on rye. Ambiance is very casual and family friendly. The booth seats are kind of worn and some have broken springs so be careful where you sit. One of my favorite«greasy spoons». :)
