We had the beef and pork bulgogi and it was delicious! The staff was attentive and helpful while being super nice. High recommendation!

My family and I ate here today for the first time. The beef and pork bulgogi were very good. The platters of meat come already cooked to the table as opposed to cooking everything yourself. The sides were good, especially the cabbage and cucumber kimchi. The service was impeccable. Our waiter was named Min, and he took care of us like you wouldn’t believe. I will definitely be back!

One of my favorite restaurants in Springfield! Interior is not much although it is clean. It is also in a strip shopping mall. The young lady serving me was very nice, as well as being well travelled! Had seafood pancake it was huge and delicious! The dipping sauce complemented the flavor very well. The steel Korean chop sticks were difficult to use. They made my fingers hurt after a while. The Korean mackerel was a delicacy! Fishy fish taste was perfect with the glaze and the dipping sauce! Holds up well as a firm fish. Great presentation. Watch for bones most are near the head. The skin crackled when moved, it was so crisp. Ban chan was really good as well. Their were several of them without being overbearing in terms of decision paralysis. I must say that the Kim chi was the best that I have had in some time.

Okay, let me start out by saying this isn’t our first time eating here. It’s probably been our 6th visit but it will be our last. The food was good like most times we’ve gone, but this evening we experienced a VERY disturbing owner to employee interaction. When we arrived there was one other table being occupied. By the time we received our food I would say 4 more families were seated. So it started getting a little more busy for the ONE waiter named RAY doing all the work. The owner was humiliating him in front of us and other diners. As this was happening 2 families that were just seated got up and left. We would’ve done the same thing if it was prior to us getting our food. My wife even asked to speak to the owner that was humiliating Ray the(Employee) to tell him how Ray was handling the pressure in such a professional manner, remaining polite and calm after being yelled at so loudly in front of everyone — she shared with Ray that she just wanted to tell his boss what a great job he was doing, and he said no it’s okay. What humility on Rays part, I have employees that work for me and at no point would I every act that way and definitely never in front of customers!!! Good food but at what cost? The only downside to the restaurant here is the carpeting. Once that has been repaired, I’d be more than happy to give this place a 5-star rating. The service is impeccable. I was well looked after. The appetizers were delicious and more than sated my desire for kimchi. My waiter made certain that I was taken care of. The main course was wonderful. If one leaves here still hungry, that is no fault of this excellent restaurant.

The beef and pork bulgogi is always on point. The banchan is very basic but still very delicious. Bibimbap is very good wish they offered dolsot. It’s a very cozy and relaxing atmosphere.

Had this last night for the first time. The meal was fantastic. I had the chicken bulgogi, it was well priced, and well cooked! Almost every meal comes with a serving of 8 appetizers that come in little bowls and are endless. We really enjoyed the potato dish(whatever it was! Lol) I will definitely be back and probably get the same thing again! Yum!

It’s been a lot of years since I was last in Korea so this was a treat. I had the Dolsot Bibimbap and it was delicious and I am stuffed. All the flavors were just as i remember, not«Americanized» at all. Also the service was perfect. Ill definitely be going back.

Stopped in for lunch. Sparse décor compensated by friendly and attentive staff. Had the pit bilgogi. Very tasty. Will add it on to my short list of take-outs. Remember, eat local. Franchise restaurants sum.

I went to Soo’s on the recommendation of a Korean lady who has lived in Springfield for quite a few years. The atmosphere is pretty standard, and the restaurant is clean. My friend and I were greeted by an American and seated. The waiter was very knowledgable, friendly, and really charismatic. He has spent time abroad in Korea, so he really can bridge the gap between the Korean staff and American customers. I think he is probably also seen favorably by Korean customers since he was observing polite cultural habits common in Korea. He was well versed on the whole menu and was able to make suggestions to my friend who has never eaten any Korean good. I would give them 5 stars but they did not have grills for the table(possibly not their fault since I don’t know restaurant laws in Missouri). This will be on the top of my list any time I ever come back to Springfield!

Healthy, delicious food! So glad we tried Soos. We were served more than enough food. In fact, my husband and I shared an order of bulgogi and both had plenty to eat. Very tasty. Good service. Very sweet waiter. YES! We will go to Soos again!

Great dishes with good flavor. Very basic but very good. I haven’t been there in a couple of years but I used I stop by to pick up the sushi rolls they have. They were always cheap and very simple but the thing that kept me craving it was the sauce that comes with it. I think it’s soy with a wasabi and maybe some ginger? I can’t quite figure it out. Will go back next time I’m in Springfield.

I am very picky with asian food because I’ve been to Southern California and Texas for top-notch Korean food. Soo’s satisfies my spontaneous asian food cravings since I live in the middle of nowhere and there aren’t any good asian places to eat around here. The food is good and price is fair here. We ordered the Galbi, spicy octopus, and tofu soup. Portions were decent and service was fast. I recommend coming here if you like korean food l.

Here’s how cool Soo’s is: I went here once and the table from hell was nearby(you’ve probably sat near them before) and by golly I didn’t care that much. Just order the bulgogi and your choice of beverage and you’ll probably leave happy.

Often my husband and I say«Let’s go eat somewhere we have never eaten before» Sometimes its a disaster… but this time was a resounding success. Soo’s oh Soo’s… you have magic-ed your way into my heart with your delicious everything. The restaurant itself doesn’t look like much but the staff is amazing. Our server took the time to explain what everything was — and to ensure that all our food was vegetarian. My box of yum came with house soup and several sides. Two things I learned: 1. Apparently I dont hate cucumbers as much as I thought. Theirs were delicious. 2. Kim Chi isn’t disgusting. I love trying new things. I love Soo’s. Definitely going back soon :)

Five stars because«As good as it gets!» seems to pretty much accurately define Soo’s. It’s worth saying that I’m not exactly an expert on traditional and genuine Korean food, but I found a lot of delicious parallels between the dishes at Soo’s and my all-time favorite Japanese cuisine, from sushi to tempura to marinated meat dishes. If you’re hesitant to dive into traditional Korean, consider these footnotes on things you can try first. What I liked about Soo’s other than the stellar service(our waiter seemed to materialize out of thin air every time we absentmindedly voiced a question or comment) and the dim, clean, comforting atmosphere was the variety of dishes we received by default. It wasn’t a gratuitous amount of food, necessarily, but as a newbie to Soo’s, I appreciated the opportunity to try lots of different things. I quickly decided to order the combo box, which is sort of a sampler of things: steamed rice, an 8 piece California roll, veggie tempura, fried mandu(a meat-filled wonton, basically), kimchi, and marinated cucumbers, PLUS a main dish, which for me was beef bulgogi. For $ 12.95, that wasn’t including soup, salad, and an array of side dishes brought out to our table. Holy wow. All of it was super delicious. I feel like if I point out one particular thing at a time this review will turn into a novel, so I’ll just say my favorites: the soup and salad(both incredibly light but packed with flavor); the mandu; and the beef bulgogi, which is well-deserved as the Unilocal reviewers’ apparent dish of choice at Soo’s. The bulgogi here has a little bit deeper flavor than what I’ve had at Koriya — Koriya’s is sweeter and brighter, but both are crazy good in their own way. I will say that I’m not a huge kimchi fan right now, but I blame many episodes of Andrew Zimmern’s «Bizzare Foods» for making the kimchi experience weird for me. I’ll also warn that the broccoli that comes as a side dish is cold and marinated in vinegar, so proceed with caution if you’re not a vinegar person. Overall, Soo’s provides an incredible casual dining experience for a pretty good price. Even if you’re new to Korean cuisine, you’ll find more than one thing here that makes you a fan for life. Edit: forgot to mention the tiny complimentary appetizer they bring to every table. I didn’t catch what it was called, but it was basically a piece of warm crab-filled sushi and drizzled with a lightly spicy sauce. It was magical and I want to eat one every day for the rest of my life.

I never really gave much thought to Korean food before, but one of my friends that spent a semester in Korea wanted to go there one day for lunch. I was definitely glad he was there once I started looking at the menu. There were some items on the menu that just looked a little too adventurous for me. Based on his recommendations, we ordered mul mon du, jap chae and beef bulgogi. All it took was 1 bite of the mool mon du to know I was going to love this place. Next was the jap chae… judging by the looks of it, I wasn’t too sure. They are clear, rubber looking noodles, so I was iffy. But, it was amazing! And then the bulgogi! It’s still the best bulgogi I have ever had. As usual, it’s served with the never ending sides… enough of them to completely fill your table. I’ve tried many more Korean restaurants since leaving Springfield, found some good ones, too. But I have never found one that can beat Soo’s.
