I thought this would be a great hole-in-the-wall and with the reviews took a chance. I can only speak for what I had. Biscuits and gravy with eggs and bacon. The eggs(sunny side up) were so undercooked that the egg white was still runny. The bacon was also lifeless and undercooked. The food was flavorless. My goodness how do you make gravy that has no taste?! I never add salt and pepper to my food, but even caking it on this still left it bland as flour. The coffee cup was dirty. It looked like eye shadow was smeared on. The prices are very good, but I have to say even with low prices they are charging too much. Read my other reviews. It takes a lot to not earn a good rating from me. I’m kind of disgusted that I ate any of it because I’ll probably be sick later.

Great place to eat. Prices are so amazingly low for the food quality. First time here try a horseshoe. If you don’t know what a horseshoe is the locals will tell you. I had mine piled with hash browns bacon smothered with cheese sauce. Simple looking establishment but don’t let that fool you. Their business is the food. Friendly, courteous, and on time. Also not too far from Route 66 or Lincoln’s Tomb.

OMG what a wonderful place to eat. Best value ever, more food than you can eat at half the price of everyone else. I had a horse shoe which is eggs sausage toast, covered in gravy and hash browns 7.50 as of 8−2−15. I am attaching a picture but there is no way to explain the glory which lies beneath the mountain of hash browns. Sausage patties the size of hamburgers, eggs perfectly cooked covered it white gravy made by a master chief. Wife had an omelette perfectly prepared with ham and cheese 4.75 with toast. She added hash browns, a waste because I could not eat half of my hash browns. This place is a clean, well run slice of Americana. millennials twits who love duck tongue confit and worry about the treatment of cows should drive by, and pay a fortune for exotic food marketed by twit bankers.

Looking for a place other then the chain places while driving through to go to Branson… Very diner/divey in all the best ways. Very cheap and yummy breakfast… Eggs cooked perfectly and omelette was excellent. Pancakes were just average, but huge portions. Coffee and service were A1

I love this place! I eat lunch here all the time. It is really good home cooked diner food and its pretty cheap. You can eat here for less than it costs for fast food and it tastes way better and takes just about as long to get your food. Plus the waitresses are always friendly and smiling. Id give it 10 stars and two thumbs up!

I love Ritz’s. Its about the only place in Springfield that will allow you to customize your potato. Either hash, onion rings, or fries it is all good. The price is very good too for the portion size and they have a drive thru window for the lazy people(like me) to call ahead and pick up their order.

My mom and I used to come here when I worked downtown, and she still goes there(because she works only a few blocks away)! LOVE their breakfast, their burgers and most of all, their horseshoes. I miss horseshoes so much :’(

I have family in Springfield, so when I’m in town visiting and I get the chance, I like to try new restaurants in town. Unilocal hasn’t let me down yet, but this time it was my grandma that introduced me to a new place! Awesome! I wanted to take grandma out to lunch with my dad and wife and sons. My dad said that she liked Ritz’s, so away we went. The boys had burgers, onion rings and mashed potatoes which they really enjoyed. The wife, an OK looking chef’s salad. Me and grandma had pony shoes(smaller horseshoe — if you don’t know what that is, Google it with«Springfield») — hers ham, mine grilled pork tenderloin. It was tasty(with hash browns — my fave compared to fries or tater tots) and all but the cheese sauce was excellent. The cheese sauce had that slightly gritty texture of not-pure-cheese and wasn’t all that flavorful. It was good, but not Charlie Parker’s level. The kicker though??? My dad had the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich($ 3.50? are you kidding me? wow!) that looked absolutely amazing. It’s his favorite thing here, and he says it is fantastic. I will be back to try it, no question. Nothing fancy here — everything is utilitarian, no atmosphere, just a simple sit-down, eat, get out place. The wait staff is great and helpful. The place has the character of a small-town joint that doesn’t offer great food, but good food at a great price. Don’t come here, though, if you’re on a diet! Some cute waitresses if you love the jeans-and-t-shirt look(which I do!).

four and ½ stars my friends, breakfast or lunch you cant go wrong. Now with two locations to serve you! Lets break it down… Breakfast is can’t miss here, do your self a favor and get the breakfast shoe. But Matteo whats a breakfast shoe? Glad you asked my little friend. Take toast, then add meat(Ham works well here) top that with eggs any style then pile some hashbrowns on top of that and what do have?? A delicious mess?!? But wait theres more! On top of those hash browns they pile sausage gravy my friend and thats a fine way to start any day. Lunch is solid all the way around, you cant go wrong. I’ve had half the menu and never been disappointed. Just decent diner food at a great price and the service is spot on. sometimes the food comes out so fast it catches you off guard. I wish it were open late night to fill the void that was Mr Teds.(rip)
