Pizza was ok. Service was top notch! Great AC. Maybe I could have ordered thin crust? A bit doughy for me. But still ok.

We love going to Red Rose and visit quite often but were VERY disappointed to hear that our favorite waiter no longer works there! Neil you will be missed! You always made our dinners an enjoyable experience…

One of my favorite restaurants. You have to try the house salad and pizza. They have the best cannoli ever !!! Yum. All around good restaurant.

Love Red Rose! It is on my work’s regular rotation of places to get lunch from. The pizza and salad is delicious. It is a little more expensive for pizza than regular places but completely worth it. The sauce is so on point. It is a thicker style crust but still light tasting. Free toppings are mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, and mixed peppers. We usually like to add some onions or fresh tomato, which is not too much extra. My only complaints are that it is definitely greasier than necessary and a little saltier than necessary(even when we didn’t have salty toppings). I had pizza two days in a row(obsessed haha) from Red Rose and another place and I found they were equally tasty but Red Rose was much greasier. Even better than the pizza is the salad(tomatoes, cukes, red onion, croutons, black olives). Get it with the dressing on it! It is very parmesan-y and delicious. Dining in has always been great service. Great atmosphere and spot for large parties and kids. I recommend calling ahead if you want takeout. They usually have a lengthy wait.

On our drive back to NYC from Vermont, we decided to stop by Springfield for dinner. My cousin was searching for a place to make this stop worthy. We decided to go to Red Rose Pizzeria. Upon arrival, we glanced inside the restaurant to see that i’s very popular and packed. There was a 45 minute wait and a lot of people waiting to be seated. I was so excited as we waiting on the side for our table. There were pizza’s being brought to tables and as it passed us, we were practically drooling. These pies were huge! Like it could probably feed a 20 people(A PIE). The wait was about 30 minutes I would say and they call out your name. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, ensuring that our meal and experience was pleasant. The restaurant was beautiful, very Italian. There were chandeliers and bright lighting. It was a loud and very family-oriented dining experience. They also a bar to keep you occupied while you wait, just saying! You can also watch the pizza getting made from the kitchen with windows. Great for kids to see! We started with their salad which is veryyyy parmesan-y and large. For a table of 6 we had a small pie(half cheese and half mushroom and sausage) and 2 pastas(meatball marinara and mushroom). We were stuffed at the end. Seriously. We took the 2 leftover slice to go. The pizza was great but based on personal preference, the crust was too thick, but had great flavor. Very cheesy and saucy! Just the way pizza should be! The pastas were huge, great for sharing with the table.

Red Rose is a great restaurant! My family has dined in, but we usually order take out. They make a great pizza. It’s a medium to thin crust, great sauce, and they use the good Italian sausage. The margherita specialty pie is great. They make a semi serious issue about cutting in squares or triangles, which I think is a Western Mass thing. The dining room has an old school Italian restaurant vibe. It gets packed in there, and when it’s nuts everyone gets a little chippy, but the food makes up for a lot. Haven’t ordered from the bar, it looks kinda meh, but we usually only get a glass of house red, which comes pretty quick and goes great with everything there. It’s a Springfield icon, like Forest Park, the Student Prince, and the hoop hall. If you are out this way, it’s a must try.

Red Rose has the BEST pizza ever!!! My recommendation: go the Red Rose, order a pizza the size of your house(with their default peppers and pepperoni topping), house salad, and pitcher of BBC Steel Rail Pale Ale — you can thank me later! The pizza is fantastic for take-out as well.

Despite trying to become a regular, I was again put off by my experience at Red Rose. When I called at 11:15 on a Tuesday to order a pizza, they told me it would take 45 minutes. When I said oh I’m sorry I can’t wait that long they told me oh we can do it in 20 – 25 minutes. I find this strange but went with it. There was a long line to pay and then there is no area to wait after you ha e given your ticket to the pick up window. The hostess scolded me for accidentally walking toward a private function room while I was trying to find my way back out. I know this place is a Springfield institution and all, but I can’t take it anymore.

We were a group of six starving after a day long conference. The reception was really friendly and helpful, the wait was going to be quite long due to the large attendance for the conference, but many left didn’t want to wait, so we got in quite quick. Service was exceptional!!! Waiter was very attentive and friendly. The food came fairly fast as well. The food came in generous portions, especially the salad, it was huge!!! Spicy Buffalo Wings were okay. The specialty pizza was delicious, except it could be less salty to be more enjoyable. After I had two slices, I had to chug down a whole glass of water. The mushroom sauce spaghetti was a good portion size, I found it a bit too sour, but others did like it. The price was very good, as in the end it came to less than $ 10 each person before tips, and we each got a really good amount of food. Will likely be back if in town again.

Best pizza in Western Mass hands down. The house salad is a must try as well, perfect combo with the pizza. Staff is friendly and Angelo is the man behind the scenes!

What is there to say about Red Rose except that the pizza is the best in the world. They are huge, so watch how much you order. Very traditional Italian style. Where other places charge like $ 2.00 or more per topping, Red Rose still charges like .75 even on their huge pies. Haven’t really ventured past the pizza but I’ve never heard anyone complain about their meals. They have a glass front pizza making area where you can watch them throwing dough and making pizza. The house salad is so good. I cant explain it, but we love it. Every time we go we can’t wait to go back. It’s a huge restaurant but it’s still always crowded, but definitely worth the wait. A must try!!!

We like to come to Red Rose Pizzeria for a delicious affordable meal. We always get a salad which is served family style. It is consistently good. We have only had pizza because it is sooo very good. Have never had a bad experience here. Very family oriented. Should really go more often.

If you are looking for authentic Italian family style then this is the place for you. For one, their pizzas are a hit. Like out of the park. Delicious. I have never had a bad one there. In addition to that, their Italian dishes are just as good. I recommend their lasagna or the chicken parm. Its a pretty standard menu but the quality is something else. If you are doing a hockey game this is a great stop before hand. Heck, if you are downtown for any reason what so ever, this should be your first choice for places to eat. Don’t miss out on it!

Being new to NE, I’d never heard of Red Rose Pizzeria(apparently, it’s a local gem, as you’ll read by the other reviews). When everything else was closed on July 4, Red Rose was open. So we walked from the fireworks area to get a bite to eat. My first impressions were lackluster. This place looks like it’s been in a time warp for the last 40 years. Chandeliers hanging from the ceiling? Cafeteria-style dining room? Cheap casino-esque carpeting? I was already dreading my meal. The whole dining room was packed, noisy, and chock-full of every type and variety of human being you can imagine. We were initially seated somewhere between two tables of small children, but Jamie(thankfully) asked if there was a more quiet area to dine. We were showed to the lounge/bar. Apparently, under normal circumstances, you can only order food if you are seated at the bar, but not if you’re seated in the lounge(which has tables and chairs). These are usually reserved for parties and events. However, I’d assume due to the large influx of people for 4th of July, they allowed us to sit and order in the lounge. Our waitress was the bartender, and she was very polite, helpful, and did a terrific job. A couple of draft beers were ordered, and came out right away. We started with the Caprese salad($ 8.99), and the bartender also offered up some warm bread. It was pretty great, the mozzarella was fresh and the tomatoes tasted like they were home-grown. After finishing that, we ordered a medium«house» pizza, which comes with pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, and mixed peppers($ 16.00). This is one huge pie! and definitely delicious. Their crust is definitely top-notch. Red Rose cuts their pizza in squares; I got about 3 squares in and I was stuffed. We took home more than half the pizza. All in all, about $ 50 was dropped for a dinner for two, which is a bit on the pricey end. But, given the quality of the food, I’d definitely be down for another Red Rose evening. Assuming, of course, I don’t have to be seated in that wretched cafeteria. Here’s to redecorating! PROST!

A huge pizza restaurant located within a 5 minute drive off of I-91, making this a convenient rest stop if you are looking for a sit-down meal after a long drive. It was busy on a friday night, but we had no wait and were seated immediately. Although we were famished, I’m glad we read previous reviews and only ordered their small-sized pizza. which is definitely a large by NY standards. Even with two of us sharing, we still had leftovers! Pizza was great. It even tasted good when we ate it cold the next day… but the service was terrible and disappointing. We were initially greeted by a friendly waitress, who we then saw again only when she brought us the bill. Pizza was served but we had no plates. After staring and drooling at the food for some time, we finally decided to help ourselves and found clean plates by the bar. Water was not refilled and when asked for refills, only one of us got it. Even though the restaurant was busy, there were plenty of staff around. so I’m not sure why the service was so bad.

One piece of pizza will normally do it for me, but that’s not really an option here. The small is about the size of a delivery place large. The large here will feed an entire neighborhood. The crust is very good, and they don’t skimp on the toppings. The house salad is about the size of an olive garden salad and just as good. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere of the place almost out does the food and service, but go for that, and look around in amazement.

The family and I went here on a Sunday got seated right away. The place is very nice and clean on the inside. Kids loved being able to watch them make the food. We had linguine in clam sauce, this was very good. We had a medium pepperoni and a small Margherita pizza. The medium is the size of most pizza shops large pizzas. The pizzas were amazing, cooked perfectly. Would recommend to anyone in the mood for an awesome meal.

Look. Red Rose is an area institution. I don’t deny that. A lot of people swear by it, and I know people once native to the area who look forward to dropping in on their visits. So stipulated. But honestly, it’s a pizzeria. It’s the only one I’ve ever known where you’ve had to wait a half hour for a table, barring the upscale Bertucchi’s of the world. And the pizza just never has thrilled me. It’s more the New England-standard thick-as-a-quilt Greek-style, rather than the New York/Italian style they pretend to have, and I’m unimpressed. If you judge it by restaurant standards instead, sorry: it’s too crowded, too raucous, too low quality. It has all the ambiance of an Outback Steakhouse or an IHOP. Too pricey and too busy for a pizzeria(and there are too many good pizzerias in Springfield). Too raucous, cramped and low-brow for a restaurant(and there are too many good restaurants in Springfield). I don’t *hate* it, but I’ve no need to patronize it.
