Excellent Chinese food at reasonable prices. My wife and I went last night and enjoyed the experience. This is the best Chinese restaurant we have found in Springfield. The dinners for two in the back of the menu offer a wide variety of selections with three courses. The wonton soup was the best I’ve ever had.

Ok I feel really bad about having to give this bad review. But I need to be honest. I have been going to the peacock since I was old enough to drive, I’m now in my 40’s In the past no one was ever able to compete with the Peacock, but now it appears that the new owners have taken over and so last night the food was horrible. On a scale from 1 – 10 and 10 being the best I rate a 1 The boneless spare ribs lacked flavor and most of it was over cooked, dry, hard and difficult to chew, the only thing that was soft was the fat which was connected to the over cooked inedible meat. I threw most of it away as it was inedible. The house fried Rice was undercooked and grainy. Usually house fried rice is moist and loaded with everything but on this day it was mostly hard chewy rice a few shrimp and not too much of the other ingredients. I also ordered fried chicken wings which were not the same. They were small in size, usually they are meatier and slightly bigger, they were also over cooked and dry lacking flavor. One last thing, the shrimp In the rice was also over cooked and tasteless almost like it was freezer burn tasting. Not good at all. I miss the old owners, I wish they never sold the business.

Good food but terrible service if you want take out. They have messed up my order 3 times in a row and do not even apologize when it happens. The last time it happened I had gotten all the way home and then realized they gave me the wrong meal I called them and they argued with me about it and then made me come all the way back and bring the wrong meal with me so that they could check and make sure I wasn’t making it up. Terrible customer service– not worth the hassle when Chinese food is a dime a dozen here. Avoid this place.

Has been my favorite Chinese food restaurant for years. The food has the right flavors and generous portions. I love having leftovers the next day. The Scorpion Bowl always hits the spot. If you don’t know what to get, try the dinners for two or four in the back part of the menu. They come with three courses and are a reasonable prices for a taste of different selections of food.

First and last, ordered for pick up pork fried rice, spareribs and egg roll, the 2 star is for the egg roll which was delicious and nothing else, spare ribs had no sauce or flavor and the rice had not flavor either. If it wasn’t for the duck sauce I wouldn’t have being able to eat it

Had the generals chicken was good but a little too sweet. Was going to substitute chicken fingers for the crab ragoons but it was a two dollar fee. Seems pretty steep for chicken instead of seafood.

I moved to Springfield a few years ago and I have struggled to find a Chinese place that I really love. I have tried four or five other Chinese restaurants in the city and this is the one I keep going back to. It’s the only one I’ve encountered in the city so far that doesn’t have yellow fried rice. I always order the same thing, wonton soup and gen tso’s chicken. It’s good enough for me and my wife really likes it. The portion sizes are gigantic, the containers are always overflowing. Occasionally we will get a batch of fried rice that smells like it was made with forehead grease. Probably the best Chinese place in the city. Just don’t try to order here for New Year’s Eve, the whole city tries to do it and you will have to wait in a giant horde of people for an hour to get your food.

I remember when this place opened many years ago. I think it’s still the same family who owns it. I haven’t eaten«in» for years so this review is is for the food only, not service. Also, keep in mind that this place is «American» Chinese food which is typically greasy and fried(I’m sure they have healthy choices but haven’t tried them). In that category the Peacock’s food is excellent! The chicken fingers are always perfect; the egg rolls are large crispy fried treats; the teriyaki beef and boneless ribs are tender, sweet and salty; fried dumplings are generous and tasty; their homemade duck sauce is so good I once had a friend eat a bowl of it like soup! I’m not talking fine dining here, more like an occasional guilty pleasure. Don’t expect to impress a date here, just expect tasty food! I only order from here occasionally, but when I do its a great treat!

THE best chicken fried rice in the area, bar none! I come from Palmer just for that. The other foods are great too.

This was my first time there and I ordered curry chicken, fried rice and an egg roll. The chicken came with a medley of fresh vegetables and had a very nice subtle curry flavor that I thoroughly enjoyed. The vegetables were cooked al dente as they should be, the only slight disappointment was the fried rice. The rice, while not lacking in all the customary ingredients, was okay just lacked in overall depth of flavor. The egg roll was better than some I have had elsewhere. I would go back as I was satisfied with the overall quality of this Chinese American restaurant.

5 stars. Seriously. I do remain amazed that I’m giving stars to a Chinese Restaurant in the state of Massachusetts. My Boston friends and I have a running gag about how unbearable most of the Chinese food is; I guess it took a trip to Western Mass to find a good one. It’s near my workplace. I had a lunch special, most of which are between $ 7.50 and $ 9… pretty good for a sit-down Chinese place. What I got for that money was simply bananas. Crispy noodles with a giant bowl of duck sauce. An eggroll the size of my forearm. A pile of lo mein that could satisfy Mama June Thompson’s appetite. And to top it all off [literally], two strips of battered chicken! WTF? It was so much food, I almost had to say, «No, stop bringing me food! Enough!» That would have been a first. It’s in an old strip mall, so Peacock is not winning any HGTV contests for décor, as one might expect. But man, sit-down Chinese places are a dying breed, so it’s hard not to like this one.

Love the food and huge portions! I’m giving it 5stars because it is the cleanest Chinese restaurant I have ever been to, no wonder they have been around for 30 years!

Food is good. The chicken fingers were crisp and the beef flavorful and tender. Disappointed in pork fried rice was over coked and soggy. I would of rated one star higher if the service wasn’t so poor. Rude waiter and hostess wasn’t busy so didn’t understand why the service was so bad. I. The future I will do take out and avoid interaction with staff.

I’ve been going here for 20 years or more. I have taken countless friends for their first time visit. It’s unanimous. This is absolutely the best quality, biggest portion, freshest and tastiest chinese food available anywhere. The drinks are very good too. Don’t listed to anyone who rated them less than 5 stars. Go there and judge for yourself. You will easily become a lifelong fan as well. They also recently remodeled and the place looks great. Plenty of parking, as it’s in a shopping plaza. Don’t miss this place!

5 stars? Seriously? On a recommendation from my family we ordered here the other week. Cheap Chinese food at it’s cheapest. I’m a big fan of General Tso’s and honestly am not sure I’ve ever had worse. The Crab Rangoon was cooked well but had an odd flavor to it. I hope there’s better in East Longmeadow.

Best pu pu platter in the Valley. The perfect amount of greasy and more food than a family of three could eat in one sitting. Lunch time specials are really good and an incredible value. Not healthy as another reviewer said, but oh so delicious.

One of the best Chinese food places in Springfield. I’ve been ordering from them for over 10 years. The only downside is their best choices aren’t too healthy. I find the Ginger Blossom is better for the healthier options.
