Laketown Barber Shop

We were here for the Route 66 Mother Road Show, drove in from Southern California… my wife said my hair was getting to long so we were driving by and saw Laketown Barber Shop and stopped. Absolutely the best most professional hair cut I ever had.
George did most of the cutting old style, scissors, comb then trimmers. Just a really professional hair cut. When we come back next year I will be stop there again…

I’ll keep this short and simple.
I’ve lived in Springfield for most of my 23 years of life. I’ve received hair cuts at many places around the city, but I’ve been disappointed most of the time. I found this during a Google search just a few months ago and I thought I’d try it.
George is the owner and only employee there. He’s been cutting hair in Springfield since the 60s. He’ll give you a buzz if you want, cut you toddler’s hair, or give you a classic vintage cut, which is what I was after. The shop epitomizes vintage in every aspect, from the cash register to the chairs and TV. Almost every customer going in has been going there for years, and most are over the age of 50.
Tell George exactly what you are going for. He’ll offer you some spray and clean you up nicely at the end. A very friendly, old school atmosphere.
I really think this is the best place to get a classic men’s cut in Springfield. And you cannot beat the price; expect to pay $ 12 cash, but be sure to tip the man. No plastic accepted here. Appointments are not necessary. I don’t think he would even take one.
