The staff appear pleasant until you hang up your first phone call. The customer service was HORRIBLE to work with. My TV was damaged and my furniture was all stained. Their service was horrible and they kept charging my cards without my permission for charges that were supposed to be one time payments — absolute scammers! Currently trying to get back my deposit — stay away! I would NOT recommend this company to anyone who cares about their belongings,

We had a great experience with Interstate until we discovered that our 46″ Sony Hi-Def TV was damaged in the move. We paid for packing service from Interstate but not one of our TV’s were packaged as promised in the sales agreement at the initiation of the contract. They went into and came out of the truck with no protection. When we brought it to the attention of Interstate that the TV was damaged we have received only a letter telling us that we will receive $ 48 to replace the TV. While we did sign up for only the«per pound» replacement fee, I believe that we are deserved of a replacement value of the TV. We paid $ 225 for boxes and packaging of TVs and yet they were not. Multiple emails and correspondence have gone unanswered from anyone at Interstate. I have called customer service and after explaining my position I have been told twice that a «manager» will call me back. Nothing. The packing people, the movers were all great and friendly. The customer service apparently ends when something goes wrong. I would not recommend them, which is a shame since they were recommended to me for their outstanding customer service.

Interstate movers(located in Springfield, VA) were very friendly, careful and professional and made our big move to a new house as smooth as possible. They gave us a competitive estimate and stuck to it. We even asked them to come back and help move a few things from a storage unit to the new house and they again stuck to their estimate(the lower end of their estimate). The office staff was also very professional, responsive and helpful. The movers have a great deal of experience and were able to put complicated pieces of furniture together pretty easily. I’d highly recommend them for large or small moves.

Horrible customer service. Everything was great till I gave my deposit. Five calls over a three week period trying to get the day the truck would arrive was a nightmare. «Lisa» called on a Monday to say it would be Thursday instead of Wednesday. … then calls Wednesday. less than 24 hours before the move to say they didn’t have a truck to move me! Of course. I was extremely upset.. Asked for the owners name.. Was given an Adam… and phone #… he never called back. Now my bank is starting a claim against them for not returning my deposit.

My move with interstate moving has been a nightmare! I purchased the storage package prior to selling my house that went smooth. But when I engaged them for my move that is when the games begun. Their team showed up a day early and I had to tell them to come back. They came back on the day I contracted and the team that arrived to pack we’re grumpy walking though the door. By the end of the day the ran out of boxes and began using my plastic bags to transport my items. Heard a crash in my living room at found a statue giving as a gift was in pieces on the floor. After they finally left I did a walk thru and found items still in kitchen cabinets and closets. Two days later when the truck arrived at my new home the Sam grumpy crew arrive. The crew put dents in my dry wall scraped the ceilings and broke glass tables, punctured leather sofas and broke table lamps. When I began to unpack I found doggie toys in a wardrobe box(you pay extra for wardrobe boxes). My suites never made it to the wardrobe boxes but instead were stuff in regular boxes with house hold detergents from my bathroom. I have many missing items including a 400.00 roomba. I have heard nothing on my claims and this weekend got an alert from my bank that interstate charged 500.00 to my credit card with no notice or explanation on what charge is for. Do not use interstate they are the worst!

This company has some issues with service and integrity. I purchased the staging pkg that included storage and delivery. They went on to charge me 3 times in 1 month w/o permission. I had to dispute and cancel my card, because the sales person could not explain or even refund the charges. They are scam artist and do not recommend.

Original sales team was confident and persuasive. I chose to have some items picked up early in order to stage the house. Of course there is a storage charge which I agreed upon. Issues began when packers arrived for remaining household goods. Packers were inadequately trained and crate for large picture was missing. Plasma TV was turned upside down over and over to wrap it(destroys most Plasma TVs) and was then placed in its special box with a «tip indicator». Packers left several shelves/drawers of kitchenware even though I had asked three separate times, if they had checked all cabinets. And this is an ISO9000 qualified company. Delivery was contractually agreed upon. I called the driver, per instructions, to find out the approximate delivery day(closer than the 5 day spread they had provided earlier) but received no answer. Tried a 2nd time with same result. Finally called the home office only to find out that the shipment would be delayed an additional 4 – 5 days… seems they were hunting for other loads to fill this enormous truck. I moved to my final destination with the new delivery in mind. Nearing the new delivery time, I called the driver with no results. I then called the home office only to find out that they had rerouted the driver once again and that my shipment would be delayed an additional 3 – 5 days. It seems they have been driving my household goods up and down the east coast looking for additional weight to fill the truck. In short… I have had to call them at every turn and chase down where the truck is and if they are going to deliver on time. They do not seem to care about the $ 150+ dollar a day late fee. The cost of a new Plasma TV is $ 979(yep, I took out the $ 110,000 $ 0 deductible insurance) from Interstate. Given that my goods will likely have traveled ¾ of a month and nearly 4,000+ miles in a truck, I will be making a lot of claims. I hope not but having been in the business, I can tell you that the further you truck it, the more you break it. My next stop is to file a complaint with«www.protectmymove.gov». This will break Interstate’s perfect record but they seemed to not care about that either when I informed them. Bottom line, if you are searching for a moving company, look elsewhere.
