Came here on a Wednesday night for the ½ sushi and bottle wine. Did not disappoint. Really enjoyed both. Ambiance is ok, very bright inside. We will be going back on Wednesday again! Great Deal!

My husband and I hired HyVee to do a Taco and Pizza Bar at our wedding on April 23, 2016. We were so happy with the food and with how professional the staff was! My guests couldn’t stop talking about how good the food was and how nice it was to eat something they really liked! HyVee’s Catering Manager, Jennifer, was the sweetest person! She was so nice and super easy to work with. She made our experience with HyVee so great! We would HIGHLY recommend doing any type of event catering with HyVee! Thanks HyVee for feeding our guests AMAZING food!

Over the last three months during my multiple visits to SPI I’ve spent a lot of time at the Hy-Vee. The grocery store! But this visit I ventured into the Market Grille three times and never left disappointed. Visit one. Lunch with mom. We shared their version of the Monte Cristo with sweet potato fries. Sweet potato fries could have been crispier, but otherwise, delicious. And for the sandwich. HUGE! We shared half of a half and took the rest home. It was a Tuesday and they have half priced specialty cocktails so I gave the cucumber gin drink a try. It was heavy on the gin, light on the cucumber if you catch my drift! Visit two. New Year’s Day, Mike and I entered the grocery store part with all intentions to get a hunk of meat for his new smoker. A mimosa caught his eye and the next thing I know, Bam, we’re sitting at the Market Grille bar! We enjoyed chatting it up with the bartender Tami, and a bottle of champagne later, we finally headed back out to grocery shop. Visit three. Sunday Brunch. We meet some friends for my last breakfast before leaving. I thought we had to get the buffet, but you don’t have to. I say that because I can’t eat a ton in one sitting so there is no way I would ever get my $ 18 worth out of their buffet. If you enjoy a buffet, this is a good one. All the breakfast food and also all the salad bar, Asian, Italian, etc. that’s offerings out in the grocery store too. My two eggs over easy, two slices of bacon, hash browns and one piece of toast was just right. This experience wasn’t perfect as Mike didn’t get his eggs, I got the wrong kind of toast, and the bill was incorrect, but we worked around all of that and still enjoyed our meal.

I had the Nachos. It was just a side dish but everyone else I was with had some amazing looking sandwiches. They even have an extensive drink menu and a buffet. Our server was nice too.

Not good service. This was our first time at this restaurant and most likely our last.

This place is a joke. Here’s what we ordered. Pepperoni pinwheels and firecracker shrimp appetizers. The pinwheels were pretty good according to my friend. The shrimp was funky, and not in anyway good. Frozen, breaded, deep-fried nasty. For the main course we had the 9oz filet and the spinach artichoke pizza. The 9oz filet was 5oz of fat. The server suggested we should order it butterflied next time. Um, that does not magically make fat and tendons disappear. But ok. The pizza was no better that low cost freezer food. Edible but not enjoyable. The server was nice. Just had to throw that in here. Just go anywhere else or buy some groceries and make your own dinner. It will be so much better. I promise.

It’s hard to find something this tasty and affordable in Springfield but the Hyvee restaurant is surely a great place to start. I have eaten here now 3 times and each time the food has been delicious, the prices are fare and the atmosphere is more than acceptable for a grocery store. On one occasion the wait staff seemed to all but forget my table but eventually the manager came to apologize and assumed the duties of our table. Tips: come on deal days, half priced wine and Sushi is a great date idea. The Mac and cheese burger is a personal favorite of mine. Avoid the fettechuni Alfredo, it’s boring bland and a little watery. I will come back and you should to.

It was ok. Smaller Sunday menu. Asked for bacon instead of ham for my skillet. Waitress said no problem. But when it came it had ham so must have been a problem in kitchen. Husband couldn’t eat his biscuits n gravy as way too spicy. The Hy-vee in Bloomington IL has much better breakfast. Also waitress never asked how everything was. And manager never took time to check with customers.

Only reasonable salad bar in Springfield with decent selection if you can get over grocery shoppers staring at you while you graze a salad bar.

Thai Peanut Chicken Sandwich was very good. The Blackened Shrimp Tacos were excellent! Our salads were fresh & the service was great. The Sangria was good as well.

Breakfast was very good. Eggs were perfect along with French toast. Menu is simple and basic breakfast choices. No fancy sauces and crazy concoctions of blended ingredients. Clean contemporary atmosphere.

The food is good. The service is terribly slow. Took forever to pay. I had to complain to the front before my payment was processed. Fine place to eat before grocery shopping. I wouldn’t suggest it if it was out of your way.

The food was good. Not $ 16 for a philly cheesesteak, a ½ cup of mac & cheese, and a soda good but still tasty. The service was the worst part. There were about 6 tables with customers and that many servers walking around. But it still took about 15 minutes to get the check and pay. Like another post said, the prices are higher than the quality of the food and service

Thai Chicken peanut sandwich was my order for my lunch visit. I found it to be pretty tasty and had a unique tangy taste to the peanut sauce. Pretty reasonably priced, overall a decent lunch experience. Phil our server was good as well.

Had breakfast here last Sunday, $ 18 per person, included buffet and cook to order eggs and pancakes. We waited over 35 minutes for 2 eggs over medium, the buffet was constantly out of items which was odd since the restaurant was not busy. Food and service were not good. Maybe they were having an off day but for the price I wouldn’t return to find out.

Stopped for breakfast and was a terrible experience . Food extremely grease, toast and eggs soak in butter or whatever they use . Husband found a hair on the toast complain to the waitress and her respond was«do you want another toast» Never, ever coming back to this place

Stopped in here with my son and granddaughter for dinner. Our waitress was divine. Very personable and accommodating. I’m handicapped and she was very gracious. The dinner menu is quite expensive. We easily spent $ 60. We chose to experiment and try the buffet. Their pot roast was so delicious and tender! Their white cheddar pasta was very good and the chocolate cheesecake was very rich! Because we went through the restaurant to get the buffet, they let us take to-go orders home. The only two complaints I do have are the prices are quite high(but the food is quite good) and there was a very loud, annoying bartender who kept singing and yelling the whole time we were there.

The ambiance of Hy-Vee Market Grille is outstanding. It feels nothing like being in a section of a grocery store, but rather feels like being in a very chic, stand alone restaurant. Although open for only a week, we have dined in four times and sat at the bar for appetizers once. For a new restaurant, the wait staff is attentive and does not seem overwhelmed. They are quite personable, as is the manager. As for the food, everything has been excellent. From the hickory smoked ribs, burnt ends, and pulled pork to the bone-in pork chop with roasted garlic and onion demi to the southwestern grilled chicken salad, everything has been top notch. The must have appetizer is the jalapeño, maple, bacon wontons, which are a perfect mix of spicy and sweet. Wide selection of beers on tap and in bottles along with a great wine and drink list.
