Saw the reviews, and shot over for a Sunday dinner. My wife wanted a Steak Kabob and a skewer of veggies. I saw the only option to get the veggie was order a platter. I told the guy I just want a skewer, and not the whole platter, because it was going to be to much food, and to just charge me for the skewer. This was a shock to him. He said they couldn’t do it, and I would have to pay $ 10 for the platter. I was baffled that they were turning away a $ 35 dollar order over a stupid veggie skewer. I don’t care if these guys have the holy grail of kabobs I’ll never go back. If you can’t think outside the box, then you’ll not get my business. I shot over to Flame Kabob, and low and behold they hooked it up. Save your money and go to Flame.

Came here and ordered P-2, Never tasted something so horrible in my life. Their rice tasted like they cooked it inside a bathroom drain. Tasted horrible! Their staff are rude! Never ever coming back to this disgusting location.

Absolute best kabab place in the DC area. Not just the food but the customer service. The salad served with the food has dressing on it unlike all other kabab joints in the area. Chicken kabab is very juicy and delicious. Chick peas are amazing! Tried lamb Karahi today it was good too!

I’ve passed Kabob House many of times before always wanting to walk in and try their chicken kabob today I finally did and oh my sweet kabob God is was the best!!! I witnessed the cook put my order in the grill which assured me of freshness. Everything about this meal was amazing from the rice to the chickpeas to the salad and the naan bread was soft and warm and it instantly made me happy. I dipped the bread into the chick pea sauce. I am full and content, but I only ate half my plate. I think I will share the rest with my son, or eat the rest in 3 hours. P. S. Can anyone tell me what that delicious green watery sauce is that is on the tables??? I wanted to put it all over my food!!!

Authentic and delicious! Baklava is huge and so tasty. Nan is fresh made. Unilocal messed up my pick up order but they had it ready to go in under 5 minutes. Polite and friendly. I will be back!

I had the shami kebab cooked perfectly! with fresh Nan bread clerk with a side of rice and salad. The clerk gave us a sample of their homemade chicken soup! It was Devine just the right amount of spicer a to give it an authentic flavor.

Some of the best kabobs I’ve had in the area. The fact they still use charcoal makes the food that much better. The meat has really good flavor and the bread is awesome.

Overall a good experience! Ordered the a1 for 10.99 and the a6 for 12.99. In the future will only order one for two people to split its enough for two people to be satisfied! It’s comes with rice, naan and a side choice. I personally like spicier chutney/food in general(but afghans don’t usually have spicy food, so no blame) also the chicken was a bit on the Salty side. Another plus is the service was quick and friendly!

Afghan kabob, rice, Kurma and salad. You can’t go wrong. For about the same price as a McDonalds value meal, you can get some amazing fresh Afghan food in a clean, well lit and friendly restaurant. As with most kabob places, you order at the counter and then have a seat til they call you. Go up choose your side, get your food and sit at one of the many tables. I’ve only had the Shami kabob(ground beef) and it is really good. The spinach, pumpkin and potatoes are good but I do not recommend the chick-peas(garbanzo beans) as the taste like they came out of a can and are usually undercook and a bit hard. It is more of an Indo/Paki dish, so I don’t hold it against them. The service is really good and the owner/manager is really talkative and a nice guy. They have complementary chai(black or green tea). I recommend it after your meal to clean you palate and help the food digest. It’s also really good for you. This is a solid restaurant for either lunch or diner, with a group or by yourself. I usually go for lunch with my daughter. My only complaint is the hallway leading the the bathroom looks downright scary. It’s dark and packed full of boxes and storage items on both sides of the wall. The bathroom could use a facelift also.

the one star is based on the customer service experience. I placed an order online and paid online. my coworker went to go pick it up and they said that it wasnt ready yet because they dont check their emails for the online orders. He brought the order back and the orders were not correct. They gave me something that was cheaper than what i paid for. When I called in, a very rude phone representative told me that I was stuck with my food.

I’m always on the prowl for the best kabobs in town. There are various types — Pakistani, Afghan, and Persian to name a few. When I’m in the mood for saffron rice, I go to Moby Dick House of Kabob, but most of the time, I opt for Pakistani or Afghan style for the more seasoned meats, rice and sides. My favorite part is actually the side dishes as they are usually stewed and melt-in-your-mouth. I think my favorite kabob places are still Arlington’s Kabob Palace(KP) and Ravi Kabob House(RKH), but Food Corner Kabob House(FCKH) comes in at a close second. They offer the best value meal due to location. Their sides are probably the best of all three kabob joints, offering stewed eggplant, chickpeas, spinach, okra(!!!), potatoes, etc. You can tell they cooked their sides with lots of love; everything is extremely flavorful and seasoned perfectly. With each order, you will receive complimentary chicken and vegetable soup and I’m sure you’ll find it very comforting. We ordered the palau(lamb) entrée and the shami(beef)/chicken combo. All combos come with nice and crusty lavash bread(vs naan at KP and RKH) as well as salad. The accompanying sauce is similar to a creamy mint chutney. If you ask, they’ll give you the usual yogurt sauce, too. The reason FCKH isn’t ranked #1 in my book is the meats are not as moist as they could be. I don’t know if it was a fluke and I should pay FCKH a second visit, but I found the chicken and shami on the dry side. I would advise that you order the shami in ground form(think kubideh) vs chunk form(what we ordered). The lamb was probably the best in texture. All the meats were seasoned well, though. Palau usually comes with a chunky meat(lamb) sauce, but we opted for stewed eggplant and okra. Both sides were very delicious, but the okra might be the winner. Everything is made to order and the staff are extremely nice. They gave me a lot of recommendations. Prices are very reasonable, definitely cheaper than the aforementioned kabob joints with no extra charge for lamb vs the other meats. I will be back to try other dishes. FYI: There are two other locations in case you think Springfield is out of the way. It’s in the Brookfield Plaza Shopping Center, which is off the beaten path, but the center houses one of my favorite Korean restaurants in the DMV, Kang Chon; definitely not a center to bypass if you’re in the area.

Love this particular Food Corner Kabob! I always call ahead for pick up. The guy always tries to flirt with me and asks the same one liner: are you Afghan? UMMMNO, this has to be the tenth time you have asked me this, shouldn’t you recognize me by now?! Despite the bad face recognition i. d and weird pick up lines used by the cashier, I always get extra chutney and gyro sauce for being ‘almost-Afghan’. The food is always consistently good and plentiful. Two people can easily split the entrée and be satisfied. I stick to my usual order of Chicken and Shami(beef kabob) with a side of spinach(I prefer the Pakistani chick peas to the afghan version so the spinach is the way to go).

I would have given this place a 4-star, but due to certain circumstances I had to go with a 3-star. Upon entering the business, I was greeted by one of the employees who had just returned to the restaurant and was following behind me into the restaurant. I ordered the Salmon Kabob with the eggplant side dish and one baklava. The food was delicious and had spectacular flavor. The customer service was also expeditious and very friendly. Now to the downside, which is the reason I gave my rating. The employee was checking each to-go container to see what food was which since the exterior had not been labeled. When checking the food, the employee touched the bread with his bare hands which had not been washed since entering the store, and he did not have any type of gloves on. This entire incident was the reason why I went down in my rating. If the employees can practice extra protective health measures then my rating will definitely go up the next time.

I drive by this place every single day on my way to work. After 5 years I said to myself let me give it a try. What a big mistake. The place was empty during lunch time and I now know why, the food has no flavor and what really pissed me off the portions are so small for the price they charge I would never go back and I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Love this place! I was heart broken when the kabob place in Springfield mall closed down but this kabob is delish!!! My husband doesn’t like kabob and its a bit pricey but I gladly make the trip out to Springfield for this piece of heaven. White sauce and naan on point! I also love the ability to call in my order and just pick it up. I think they have online ordering but don’t quote me on that. One of the guys who’s been there for a while is very nice and recognized my brother and dad whenever we go. Not sure if that means they eat there too much or the guy is just a people person(I’m leaning towards the latter). On that note please don’t ever go away!!!

Better quality, quantity(serving size), and prices than the popular Moby Dick franchise. Really enjoyed the Salmon Kabob($ 12.95), Chicken Kabob($ 11.75), and Chicken Sandwich($ 6.75). The first two come with salad, rice, bread, a side dish, and a spicy green dressing, which is why they are a little more expensive. Check out their menu( ) and place an order conveniently online(carryout only) via GrubHub( )!

There is nothing quite like the satisfaction divined from the perfect mix of hot rice, rich spinach, curried lamb, sweet carrots and plump raisins melding into magic in your mouth… already salivating from the enticing scent of this delicious dish. It takes some practice to crowd all of the ingredients onto a tiny fork(or scooped into delicious, store-made, authentic nan), but oh my God it is so worth it! You will never know what it’s like until you try it. Quabili Palau… with the«standard» sides of spinach and curried lamb. Food Corner’s kabob is some of the best I have found anywhere as well, but no room for that on this visit. Try and enjoy!

My family and I have been coming to Food Corner Kabob House for a few years now. The original manager knew my family, but he passed the restaurant to another family member(perhaps his brother) and that’s when we sort of stopped coming… The new management doesn’t have the same… I don’t know… finesse? The new cooks and staff aren’t as nice. Over the years, the portions have become smaller, but I don’t know if the prices have changed. But, the rating and remainder of the review will be based on the food. I really enjoy all of their vegetarian sides, chick peas are a family favorite. I always order the Chicken Kabob platter and the chicken is always flavorful, fully cooked, and guaranteed to please!
