Food is always delicious, the best ponyshoe in town(my opinion). If there is a wait it’s never long. Service is always on point. Good food, good prices!

This used to be one of my favorite Springfield restaurants, but not anymore. I don’t know what happened over the last few years, but it’s not good. The last time we were here we had pizza and appetizers, but the server couldn’t tell our beers apart and made no attempt to distinguish one from the other which is super annoying when there are three people at the table and your beers all look alike so you’ve got to each take a drink out of all of them to figure out which is which. The time before that I ordered the veggie pony shoe and got a hamburger one instead, so I got to sit and wait while everyone else ate their food for them to make me what I actually ordered. Server didn’t seem to care that much. Turns out the veggie shoe is just made up of tomatoes, peppers, and onions(seems like they don’t make any effort to actually make the veggies special for the shoe, they just use whatever is leftover from other dishes). Not impressed.

Ordered queso dip. This is what came out. Chili with no cheese. Second order they made was the same. Greasy and not good. Very aggravating. Took it off our bill to make it right. Greatly appreciated. But still should retrain the cook on this basic item.

We went in for dinner as a family. They had a nice kids menu that included a little pony. The server was fun and upbeat. The atmosphere was family friendly. They offered a large variety of options. I got the Reuben pony and boy was it gooood! I would recommend this for family or friends that want to get out for a casual night out.

Happy hour has great. We got there to watch a baseball game so the prices really kept the bill down. Chilli is great as the wings and pork sliders were too, but chilli is to return for. Craft beer was included in happy hour which I think it varies but Samuel Adams Boston Lager was a good price when happy hour ended.

Love their Pony Shoe. I’ve tried the corned beef but my favorite is the hamburger. The Pony Shoe is a smaller sandwich than the Horseshoe. The Horseshoe is an original open faced sandwich invented at the Leland Hotel. It’s made with Texas toast and some kind of meat(originally ham) with French fries and covered with a cheese sauce. You have to try it if you are in Springfield!

The Dub as it is often referred to by many locals. Is a relaxed Irish themed restaurant and bar. Count on super cheap Coors lite on tap and one of the better horseshoes in town. This isn’t a bar to get rowdy at by any means but it is a nice place to take in a football or hockey game. Being from Chicago I was very happy they played most of the playoff games for the Hawks last year. On my most recent trip to Dublin I had the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant with a side of fries. The sandwich, which is impossible to mess up was good but I was bummed out by the sparse amount of fries I received. It would have taken 2 more orders to fill me up that’s for sure. The bloody marry I ordered was fine but they don’t tarnish the drink with anything, not even celery. Maybe you have to special request that, but where I come from that should be standard. I would say the bill always come in a little higher than the actual quality of the food but I have been fortunate to have the same waiter the last few times in the bar and he is a fantastic server. I hope he stays on because I have noticed turnover in this establishment is rampant. More fries and a better bloody marry could have made my review a little more generous. Also my girlfriend was absolutely shocked that they pulled the loaded baked potato off the menu, which was the only reason why she was a loyal customer for 3 years. I must admit it was one of my favorite menu items as well. If your hungry get the horse shoe and maybe order a second helping of fries.

So much good in my mouth! My friend and I ordered the spinach salad and a corned beef horseshoe and followed that with a slice of the milkyway cake. I’m too full to do much more than to gush on how absolutely yummy everything was. The salad was a perfect combination of flavors-the salad dressing and the dried cranberries offered just the right amount of sweet to go with the savory bacon and spinach-and textures-the crisp spinach and onion and crunchy fried mushrooms were wonderfully off set by the soft blue cheese. My friend and I battled for the last bite! The first bite of the horseshoe was heaven! The cheese sauce was perfection and we almost had an all out sword fight with our forks to get the most bites in! If I ever get to roll through Springfield again, I’m definitely eating here again!

Well, they use to make food fresh. I just took one bite from a hamburger pony shoe, and it was DISGUSTING! I told/showed I only took one bite because of the quality but our server(Ayla on the receipt) charged us for it anyway so I dropped my stars from 2 to 1 star as a review. My wife’s nachos were good. The patty is a preformed frozen patty, clearly from a box. My bloody mary had 2 wrinkled olives just floating in the glass… they used to be skewered. Quality has obviously went down hill. My last review was excellent. Sorry Dublin, but we eat out too often to accept low quality food. I know you aren’t Maldaner’s, but a dine in restaurant should have some standards maintained.

We are all from Illinois originally and when we come into town we HAVE to have horseshoes. We choose Dublin Pub based on a previous good experience. This time was disappointing. After an hour the waitress came to the table feeling horrible. She had forgot to place our order to the kitchen. She assured us the manager was making this a priority. We later find out he is the one in the corner chatting with friends or family. When the food came out the fries were cold. Needless to say we will not be back and go to Darcy’s Pint instead.

Great beer selection, Cobb salad was exceptional. Shepherd’s pie delicious and hot. Our service was quick and friendly. My friends had pony shoes, and said they are second to none.

Good place for a Shoe. My affinity is for Darcy’s but Dublin Pub is great for when you want to bust the wait. It’s typically more mellow than Darcy’s and the horseshoe options are awesome. The staff is courteous and quick to serve.

Stopped here cause the reviews were Ok and kids eat free that night. First service was great, quick. Food was ok. We ordered the pony shoes. One burger with pepper jack cheese sauce, one buffalo chicken with white sauce. The burger one was ok, the bread was hard to cut, the burger had no flavor. Fries had no kind of seasoning on them just the cheese sauce. The buffalo chicken was ok also, the chicken was deep fried piece of chicken very little franks on it but it was enough. Our kids ordered the burger pony also. They loved theirs. Guessing all the cheese sauce was awesome to them. The cheese sauce is good. I thought the prices were good for what you got. Would we go again yes if in town. What we didn’t like the bathrooms were gross and falling apart. Also we sat outside it was nice but was surprised you could smoke by the tables(yes I know its outside).

Went here on a recommendation from friends who used to live in Springfield and was not disappointed. We heard from everyone go to D’arcy’s Pint, but of course the wait was well over an hour which just won’t work for us with little kids. Headed over to the Dublin Pub and found a wait as well but much more manageable. The host was so friendly and quick he got us in within 10 minutes which was great. I was a little under the weather so i didn’t actually order anything, but my nephews and sister in law enjoyed their food. Kids had toasted ravioli and fries, sister in law had a horse shoe. Everyone was happy. Quick, nice, good atmosphere, friendly staff. Would definately go back!

This is our favorite place to go for a late dinner. After 10, appetizers and pizzas are half off! We love their artichoke dip(order with dublin chips instead of tortilla chips). Pizzas are pretty good too. Good drinks, good service, delicious food.

This is my 2nd time visiting here. The place was not busy, but it took over 10 minutes to seat us because they said they couldn’t find the children’s menus. Once seated, we noticed the children’s menus were on the main menu. WE ordered an appetizer tray and everything was cold on it. I figured that maybe someone else had ordered it and then not wanted it. When our meal came 10 minutes later(2 hamburger horseshoes, 2 chicken finger pony shoes and 1 pot roast horse shoe) we all noticed that each one was cold. The serving sizes were huge, the cheese sauce was delicious, but I just wanted to head home and heat it up to make it edible. Truly a disappointment after taking the kids to see Santa at the mall.

Eh ok. They were open late and I was working till 9, so that is the good side that they at least have a limited menu available late. The down side is that the few things I tasted were a notch or two below a national chain version of say a AppleKnee’s type quality of food. There were some rowdy guests there, which certainly didn’t bother me, but at one point one of them said something so off color I think I even heard the devil say«Dude!!!» Probably a nice family spot after a baseball game when you want burgers and beers.

Very ok. Ppl bragged about their food so I figured I would visit while in town. Had the monte cristo, very average sandwich. Their fries were undercooked and unsatisfactory. Was not impressed with the service either. Bartender was very awkward, did not know how to hold a conversation. Also horrible music, played the top hits station way to loud. Terrible atmosphere. I’m not trying to listen to ludacris while eating at 6 pm. Need to narrow down menu. Just make what you are good at, don’t try to do everything.

I’m in town visiting family, so I’ve got to get a horseshoe… well actually a pony. I don’t have THAT big of an appetite. Darcy’s is closed on Sundays, so we went to Dublin Pub. It was REALLYGOOD! Also, it wasn’t crowded at ALL. We got a table right away and the service was quick! If you want the original sauce, they have it. But opted for the jack! Yum! Yum! I miss this in CA!!!

Ponyshoe with grilled chicken and white cheese was delicious. I was pretty happy the large quantity of tvs to watch the game and the service was great. My total bill for two draft beers, a side salad, and my ponyshoe was $ 22.90. Pretty good. All in all a great out of towner’ experience into the world of horseshoes.
