So yes this is also a very bias opinion. I go to and work at this university. Have for six years now in total and wanted to contrast the opinion from so many years ago. Education: This place is first rate. The professors are some of the best in their fields, the class sizes are around 20 students, and coursework current. In my time as a student here I’ve been taught by retired FBI Directors, Judges, and professors that hold one if not more doctorates. Classes are challenging but also fair. I really can’t say enough about the education here. Life: Drury has a large extracurricular activity catalog. There are tons of groups of various sizes, purposes, and commitment levels. You really can find a group or hobby that fits almost any interest. We recommend them to students to help them adjust to campus life. We also have a thriving Greek organizations but in contrast to the first reviewer who was a student of mine the groups only make up 27 percent of the student body. A large amount buy by no means a most of the campus. We have an outstanding Campus Recreation office and they hosts intramural for tons of sports. Administration: Dedicated to see you graduate and being a good thriving individual in your next adventure. I had to giggle a little at the first review and think back to an 80s Evil Dean character. If you want an honest answer yes you will be ticketed for violating policies and the process is designed around learning outcomes. Plus I challenge you to visit the university website and review their community standards. I’m sure you will find the policies fair and very similar to that of any university or community for that matter. I can honestly say its not a violation factory but when you are working with people who are on their own for the very first time boundaries are often tested. Overall and in a very bias way I am proud to be a Drury student and Staff member. This university has given me a sense of pride and accomplishment that I can take with me the rest of my life and an education that promises to make that life an interesting one.

Great university. Not only are the professors & administrators interested in your academic life, but also your life outside of school. There is always someone there to help any way they can. I highly recommend this university!

I am a current student here and am pleased in some area’s and not so pleased in others.(great way to open right?) haha ok, seriously here is the completely biased opinion. 1. Education Level– amazing, the teachers are informative and for the most part have their acts together, it is a rather liberal school from an educators standing, but the majority of students are spoon fed conservatives. But with the tuition rates and prestige of «private school» its expected to be flooded with silver-spooners. 2. Administration — evil… for the most part you will be fined for anything they can think of. They spend more money on unattended SUB and SGA events then on dropping tuition. The orientation week is also a HUGE expense that is really only benefiting freshmen. Also in the last year they have shifted blame of almost all incidents to a student group of some kind. Specifically if any drinking violation was done within one mile of a greek memeber the hammer falls on the entire Greek community. Things are slowly getting better, but it really killed the social life. 3. Social Life — Used to be fucking unbelievable! now not so much. Before some over-eager freshmen decided to starve himself then try to finish a whiskey bottle(yeah… seriously) on the third week of school Drury was THEPLACETOBE besides downtown. It was almost packed every weekend and wednesday night with students from all colleges in the area. Now, after the idiotic freshman ruined it for everyone, things are SLOOOWWWWW. Security walks around the party areas every 30 minuets(leaving all other places of the school unpatrolled by the way) confiscating any hard alcohol or glass bottled beers, 21 or not. Personally i enjoy nicer beers… and they don’t come in cans. So i just kinda shy away from Drury, as do A LOT of people these days. But it is slowly coming back. The retrospect of the situation is slowly creeping in administrations eyes«Hey… we forgot 50% of our appeal was being a wet campus, guess we should let these kids drink in a controlled environment again instead of driving them out to house parties and bonfires». 4. TUITION — ridiculous. expect to pay 15 grand a semester w/o scholarships PLUS fines for parking, glass bottles, being a minority… you name it. 5. Greek Life — Most of the campus is greek, mainly because the greek life here is nothing like any other school. The greeks have better GPA’s then the non-greeks and the fraternities have HUGE mansions ONCAMPUS. Sorry girls, there are no sorority houses, you can blame an alumni for that one. 4 fraternities, 4 sororities. 6. School Spirit — almost non existent. nuff said. 7. Student Orgonizations — SIFE is really the only worthy one to mention here, its huge at drury. take the football player/cheerleader mentality and combine it with the FBLA professional drive and you’ve got DRURYSIFE! they are great at what they do, but if your not in SIFE(aka not a football player/cheerleader) you will most likely think they are just a bunch of tools who are full of themselves(in some cases is true). 8. Intramurals — SHIT! absolute shit, referee’s dont care, the guy who runs it is borderline retarded and we only get 4 sports a year, football, soccer, volleyball, and basketball. They recently cut out softball because there«wasn’t enough time»… actually the guy running it just has to concept of time management and his inefficiency cuts into Drury intramurals. My advice, take 1 credit at MSU and take advantage of their intramural system. That’s all for now. Oh yeah, Architecture and Business are huge here.
