I love this place. They have bad for you food — deep fried fish, chicken,.etc — but they also have a grilled fish filet. Chili, tamales & salads too. Grilled fish is available at lunch. I had the fish filet blackened Yummo! You get a large green salad and 2 sides with a dinner. The coleslaw is finely chopped in house with a very. thin /light creamy dressing. The green beans are seasoned with a smoked meat but not greasy or salty. I was so happy to get quality clean food in this little bar and grill. My companion had the whole catfish dinner along with house. cut fries. Both were excellent. The catfish only had a light transparent coating. The service was spot on, helpful friendly and efficient. Homemade desserts as well. We had dinner and 2 bottle beers for. $ 28.

This is one Springfield’s home grown great restaurants. Very much out of the way but well worth the discovery! They have specials every night.

Just visited for the first time since the change in ownership and remodeling. Great experience. .very nice selection on the menu. .arrived at 4:15 and dinner didn’t start till 5… they opened the kitchen early for us and that set the tone for the evening… great food(horse shoes with home made fries are very good… plus chicken gizzard dinner a nice surprise) and everyone was very friendly… great little bar with good food and staff.

Typical Springfield tavern with typical menu. Service is sketchy but the food is pretty good. Chili and horseshoe are a solid(but unhealthy) choice. A bit tough to find but a good choice on a day when you could care less about eating healthy.
