Favorite coffee place in the area. They brew their coffee at location and get it from farmers all over Central and South America. You can drink coffee from pretty much every corner of the world. Plus they offer several different options of coffee preparation such as French press and pour-over. Got to try it!

Cervantes Coffee is a hidden gem. This is one of the few roastaries that I know of outside of DC. They have close to 20+ different beans that are aged and roasted on site, sourced from around the globe. Mexico and Kenya were the two origin beans on quick brew today. I elected to try the Kenya. It is very smooth and unlike Starbucks Kenya blend, there is no acidity or burnt afterglow. I love it! In addition to the two daily quick brews and a cold brew coffee that comes out of nitrogen Guinness-like tap, the other blends are made to order. You can pick a pour over, French press, aeropress, and ciphon. Each process to change the consistency and texture. They also have a wide range of espresso. I did not try this time but will for sure. I like that the purest appreciation of coffee here. There are no Starbucks«coffee» drinks that are mostly whipped cream or sugar. This is all organic and just coffee. Very fresh and smooth. The inside is neat as they have a warehouse theme going on and you are sitting in the middle of their roasting. The brightly colored tile tables and soft Spanish music(Shakira, Gypsy Kings, etc) give it a nice touch as coffee is very relatable to Latin America. So it’s a neat industrial– Latin American setting. I would give it 4.5 if I could with the only deduction being for a lack of edibles. They only have a few cookie/pastry options that are very heavy and not my style. I would like to see them add some fresh/organic small bites to component their delicious coffee. Given the Spanish/Latin American theme, some tapas/small fresh made baked goods would be much appreciated. The location is buried in an industrial park so that could be a little better as well. Overall great concept and I love that the Starbucks crowd isn’t here. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Great little, local spot to grab coffee. Starbucks is down the street; do not bother with that place. Trust!

Location is not great, but the beverages are awesome. Is not really a «coffee house» like the ones that come to mind when you hear the term, it’s a coffee roasting place and they happen to seek coffee and food. Well worth the trip, will go again

The ONLY reason why I can’t seem to get myself to give this place five stars is because of their hours are very inconvenient. If I get caught up with work during lunch, I can’t make it there to meet their 2:00PM closing time. However, their coffee is the best coffee around. This is the only place I get my coffee beans from when I make my espresso at home. Because of Cervantes, I have turned a new leaf and said goodbye to Starbucks for good! If you have the opportunity, try all of their different roasts and figure out which one you like the most My favorite is Bolivian-Samaipata for cappuccinos at home Just to point out, do not expect the«Starbucks-ish» type of customer service. The baristas are friendly, but they are also busy doing other things, like freshly roasting our coffee or trying to improve their skills! So don’t be too bitter if they don’t wait on you hand or foot.

I love it here! I’ve been here a few times, and every time I go it doesn’t disappoint. It’s a warehouse, but there’s still plenty of seating inside. The ambience of the coffee shop is lovely. It’s satisfies all of my «local coffee shop» dreams. Not to mention the coffee is amazing!

The only reason I’m giving this place 2 stars is because the coffee was delicious; however, the customer service was horrible. We walk in and a barista walks away from the cash register asking someone else to take our order, she didn’t even bother to greet us. The next cashier who took her place had just as much attitude, he wasn’t even willing to explain the menu to us(we weren’t familiar with the coffee shop). The place is very unique and the coffee was delicious, but they need to work on properly training their staff on how to deal with customers.

Presumably named after Miguel Cervantes, author of the timeless classic Don Quixote, this establishment functions as both a warehouse/roastery and café for hand-crafted coffee beverages using single origin beans exclusively from Central and South America on a roast to order basis. A true wonderland for coffee aficionados, once you select your beans, there are options for various brewing methods ranging from Aeropress and French Press to Pour Over and Siphon. There are also additional activities held here including a tour of the warehouse and coffee making process(a bit steep at 45/person), coffee cupping sessions(akin to wine tasting), and live entertainment. My advice would be to abstain from adding any sweeteners on your initial sips so you can appreciate the rich complex array of notes emanating from your uniquely prepared cup of joe. My preferred preparation is the Cortado since the warm milk helps cut the acidity at just the right amount without compromising flavor. In Don Quixote, the title character is famous for a scene in which he thinks he is going to battle against a row of large giants, when really his enemies are just free standing wind-mills. When I first drove to this part of Springfield to get my car repaired, I found myself surrounded by the towering rows of industrial buildings devoted to home and auto repair. Yet if one looks a little closer, Cervantes is inconspicuously tucked within like a speakeasy that only those in the know could discern. Don Quixote may have had trouble differentiating reality from imagination, but this is the sort of caffeinated nirvana where both can coexist. Pro-tip: No WiFi

Still the best place to get good coffee in the area, but the drip coffee is really hit or miss… last time I was there it wasn’t served hot enough(they swapped it for the other brew, which was hotter) and it just tasted odd on my most recent visit.

This coffee place is incredible and needs attention by everyone in the NCR. Everyone should visit this gem of a place. They roast their own coffee and the coffee is of the highest quality. Why I don’t come here more is a mistake on my behalf. I am currently enjoying the nitro cold coffee and the taste and experience is pure magic. I once came here before a long drive up to the northeast and got three for the road. Yes three. The location is in a warehouse near NGA and Belvoir North off Fairfax County Parkway. The decaf is also incredible. Although I drink caffeinated coffee, I need to let the non caffeine people understand that you should come here and enjoy. They also have classes on «cupping» and how to make coffee and taste it. The aesthetics of the place are cool with nice seating. Not a ton of seating, but plenty to relax. This is a little getaway where you would never expect. Plenty of single source coffee for a wonderful pour over. Just do it!

Still amazing, I rarely have time to come in for a cup of coffee, but I stop by whenever I can get there before they close to grab a pound of whole beans. I drink it every morning at the office. And whaddya know, they stay open later now.

I can ignore the painfully hipster vibe because the coffee is fucking delicious. I respect that they offer pour over, aero press, etc(chemex too? Can’t remember) along with some of the smoothest espresso drinks I’ve ever had. It’s right up there with my favorite — Killer ESP. The only problem was that on a saturday, there were only two people to handle the traffic — not just making actual drinks, but roasting coffee to order. Expect a wait. Lots of seating indoors, one tiny table for two outside — not that there’s much to see as the shop is located in an industrial park. Seriously. It’s surrounded by warehouses, car shops and more car shops. Parking can get VERY tight. I’m coming back to pick up coffee beans because I’m deeply impressed with the quality of their coffee. (Even if it’s so hipster/quaint, it gives me actual stomach pain. No, it wasn’t the two mochas and one americano I drank.)

I came here for a coffee brewing class for a bachelorette party. The staff were all friendly and very informative. The class began with a discussion of how the beans are roasted. I was intrigued to see the coffee beans in their shell(which I had never seen before), the green coffee beans(before roasting), and then the coffee beans after roasting. The owner discussed different kinds of roast: light, medium, and dark and also why certain types of coffee(by region) are usually roasted in a certain way. We then were able to try three different brewing methods: French press, Aeropress, and Siphon. Because I basically breathe coffee, I actually already own both the French press and the Aeropress so I was not expecting to learn too much from those. However, I was surprised to learn the inverted method in brewing coffee using the Aeropress which I will try next time I brew coffee. It allowed the beans to soak in the water a little bit longer before filtering down into the cup so it had a more saturated flavor. Both of the methods highlighted the quality of their single-origin roasts. The grand finale however, and my favorite part, was of course the infamous siphon. The most expensive and time-consuming brewing method that they offer, but also the most delicious, in my opinion. This was only my second time having coffee brewed by siphon, but I loved it again. It basically looks like a chemistry experiment – seriously – complete with a «bunsen» burner like heat supply and glass bulbs to carry the liquids. The flavor that is extracted by siphon is much cleaner and more delicate. They brewed a light roast, and although it was a bit diluted, the fruity flavors that were extracted by siphon could not have been discerned in a different brewing method. I was really impressed and wished that I was able to drink more! Overall, I thought this would be a really interesting class for someone just beginning to get into coffee as it highlights some better brewing methods than just drip. I would love to take an espresso class though, which they said they are not ready to offer yet. Some other cool offerings, besides your typical coffee/espresso offerings, include a cold brew coffee and nitro brew coffee(which looks like beer on tap… except it’s coffee on tap). I told the owner that I had to try the nitro brew coffee! It almost feels like drinking beer, except it has a smooth distinct coffee flavor. It was very unique and something I had never experienced before. I definitely want to come back but it really is in the middle of an industrial park and a bit out of the way for me.

This is a pretty cool place. It was satisfying to see that it truly focuses on coffee and not on food or sugary drinks. It was a breath of fresh air to see a coffee roastery as cozy as this one! Walking in here on a Saturday afternoon, I was glad to see individuals just hanging out alone in this quiet space. It was very welcoming. During that visit, I tried a latte as well as plain coffee from the carafe behind the front counter. My latte had a great flavor; no sugar was needed. The temperature was warm but not boiling hot, which was okay for me. On the other hand, the plain black coffee wasn’t even warm, so it wasn’t as comforting as coffee should be. The taste was fine though. This place does a tour for $ 40, and it includes half a pound of coffee. I think that price is very steep; I’d rather them not throw in the coffee. Having done other beverage tours in the past, my max budget would probably be $ 15. Plus, M. E. Swing in Alexandria does coffee cupping for free. Bottom line: if you’re looking for a great coffee place on a road less traveled, this is it!

This place makes Friday my favorite day of the week, as if it already wasnt. Located near some weekly meetings of mine I make it a point to stop in and enjoy the fresh roasted coffee. Prices are great and the staff is very friendly and helpful. For the bold, try the aeropress!

Absolutely love this place. It is a hidden shop in the industrial district in Springfield. The coffee is the best I have had in the states and is way more affordable than Starbucks. 1.80 or so for a medium and 1.50 for a small of straight black coffee. The business roasts their coffee at the location and is the first thing you smell as you walk in the place. The place has that great /chill coffee shop atmosphere that I could spend all day in. Highly recommend for anyone. Hands down best coffee in the area

Happened onto this place by accident one day getting my husband’s car fixed at a neighboring collision center. This place is the best hidden gem! Had the most delicious Pumpkin Spiced Latte! And I’m a huge fan of Starbucks PSL and this place made theirs taste pedestrian. Wish I lived closer so I could stop here every day before work… They also have some basic pastries… Croissants, muffins and such. Very yummy and affordable! I got two muffins under $ 4! Will definitely come back!

If you need cream and sugar with your coffee, then you best stick with Starbucks. Cervantes is for coffee aficionados. Better than North Side. Better than Misha’s. There may not another nearby«coffee shop» that rivals the source that is Cervantes. Of course, it’s hard to compete with a shop that imports its own beans and roasts its own beans. What’s the most amazing thing?! You can taste the difference between coffee that’s made using the pour over method versus the aero press. Yes, even when using the exact same coffee beans.
