Burdett’s Tea Shop & Trading Company

This place is absolutely charming and very quaint! It’s good for small groups (4 – 5 people max). They have soups and sandwiches and of course (go figure) TEA!!! Everything was Reasonably priced and we even ate cake bites for dessert. The staff were also very friendly which I think is very important.
I would like to also add that almost everything in the restaurant is for sale, so if you genuinely like anything on the walls, you can happily take it home at a low price. Overall a good experience, and I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Great tea shop!!! Love the ambiance. Great food and service. You have your choice of bread on any sandwich. There’s two freshly made soups everyday. The scones are to die for and the desserts are amazing! My two favorite sandwiches are the Vegetarian and the Sweet Water Valley. You can have them customized to your liking. Just ask your server!
Did I mention the retail portion? This tea shop features wonderful whimseys all year round. I purchased a beautiful Belsnickle to add to my Christmas decorations. There are wonderful items for every room of your house. I also purchased a family rules sign for my wall.
This is a great place to stop in and enjoy good food and conversation. I go there all the time!

A very cute little place! Very good service and tons of tea variety. The food was so-​so. I had tomato basil soup, which was a bit acidic for my taste. The veggie sandwich had raw mushrooms (yuck), white bread, very little cheese, and no condiments. It did come with a side of vinegrette but I prefer mayo and mustard. Overall, it was a little pricey for what I got. I will probably return for tea and dessert.

Burdett’s Tea Shop is the women in my family’s favorite place to eat lunch after a morning of yard sales and antiquing. We make excuses to come to Springfield before 2:30 pm just so we can stop by.
The shop is adorable, full of pretty gifts and decorative items available for sale. The dining room is small and a little cramped, but it’s cozy and clean. It looks and feels like your great-grandmother’s dining room.
The chicken salad jumble plate with fruit tea is what I usually order. The prices have gone up since we started visiting the shop, and if the food wasn’t so tasty, I would think it wasn’t a very good value. I think it costs about $ 9 for a scoop of chicken or tuna salad, a scone and four puny little crackers with your choice of two side salads. The chicken salad is the best I’ve ever had. It’s a perfect pasty consistency — impossibly smooth and not at all chunky. The broccoli salad is so good that I usually ask for double portion of it instead of a second salad. I just wish they’d give you more crackers. Crackers are cheap! For almost $ 10, you’d think you’d receive enough crackers to eat a scoop of chicken salad with, but no.
But it’s ok. I still love you, Burdett’s.

While it seems to have a clientele of ladies and their daughters enjoying an afternoon together, gentlemen don’t be afraid to stop by. The food is good, the service is personable and it’s a great place to relax and enjoy lunch without the quick pace of most afternoon meals.

Amazing quiche, quaint atmosphere! Amazing tea! Only open 11 – 2:30 so come early because this place fills up quick! My fiancé (a non– quiche lover) loved it! A Must! scones were delisious, perfect for a brunch or early lunch!
