Blackjack Steakhouse

We visited for a Valentine’s Day date. None of the appetizers really appealed to us. We tried the lobster orecchiette au gratin instead, and really enjoyed it. It had nice chunks of lobster, and was quite delicious. He had the duck with mushroom risotto, he really like the duck, and we both loved the mushroom risotto. The risotto was cooked perfectly, creamy and perfectly flavored from the mushrooms. I was torn between ordering the NY strip or the queen cut of prime rib, at the server’s advice I opted for the prime rib. It was a good size, but not a lot of flavor. I should’ve ordered the strip. It was served with the house risotto, which is asparagus and red pepper. I didn’t love it but our server was kind enough to bring us another side of the mushroom risotto. His dinner included dessert– a delicious peachy thing in a little glass.
The service was ok, could have been more attentive but not bad.
The restaurant itself was cozy.
Ample drink, beer and wine selections.
Overall our experience was good, we’d visit again.

Went to their 1^st anniversary party. Food tasting and wine tasting. The food and wine was great.

Had dinner here last night. was pleasantly surprised. food was good. staff was a little overwhelmed. my ny strip was cooked perfectly although I didn’t taste the house coffee rub that was supposed to be put on it. But overall we will try again

Great steakhouse right here in Springfield. The queen cut of prime rib was huge and delicious. The sides of red skin mashed potatoes and assorted veggies were also good. Nice beer list with many local breweies represented, I had the white lion ferrocity ipa.
Parking was close and safe. After being greeted by a friendly doorman we saw that restaurant was clean and well decorated. Service was a tad slow but our server was very good (I think they were short staffed last night). The manager, who was also very friendly, checked up with us on our visit to ensure everything was good. Good to see a manager so involved with everything since he was helping bus tables and deliver food all night.
Overall very good experience and we would return for sure.

Beautiful restaurant! Food was very good. I ordered the prime rib. Yes! My waitress was wonderful — fast — relaxed — no errors.

DT springfield really needed some type of steak house, and this place is a great addition. The food is quality.

Not a bad spot I’m sure there some great tasting things on the menu 5 star worthy but I can only rate the filet which is good not great. The filet is served with fried onion straws and a gravy based sauce. Again good not great. The service is warm and welcoming. I would go again and order something other than the steak

Had dinner with 5 people. 4 people had steaks of different cuts, I had seafood. Mine was very good. Nobody was happy with their steaks. I figured they were all a bunch of complainers so I tried a piece of each. I tried the tenderloin, prime rib, strip steak and the rib eye. They all were over cooked, chewy and bland. They are using poor quality select meat or frozen cuts. If the place says steakhouse the steaks better be good and they just weren’t. Service was very good, wine was great, risotto was awesome, scallops tasty, even the coffee was good. None of the steaks were good. Won’t be returning.

This has a beautiful atmosphere. It’s very romantic. The food was fantastic everything was so good. We will definitely be going back. Strangest thing is the furthest part of the restaurant is where my grandfather and grandmother owned a restaurant many many years ago. So It was a little strange for me to be in that space again but did put a smile on my face.

i stopped in Thursday for lunch with my daughter, they have an amazing lunch menu there 7 for $ 7 is a must try i had the chicken pot pie it was wonderful my daughter had the pulled pork sandwich she loved it! The portions were big and filling, our server was great food came out fast and delicious. what a deal $ 7 dollars for fresh gourmet food…

My wife and I had dinner there 11÷14÷15. It was our first visit, we were seated at a table for two at the back of the place. The table was really small. The décor is rustic/​minimal. I ordered a New York strip, medium rare, my wife had the smaller cut of prime rib, medium. The meats were cooked perfectly. My baked potato was good and the veggies were good. My wife’s prime rib was mostly grizzle/​uneatable. My steak was real good. The waitress was friendly and efficient. The Prime rib was the low part of the dinner until the bill came. We did have starters. I had a cup of the house soup my wife had lazy lobster. Both were good but pricey! The bill, including a 20% tip came to $ 100.00. That seemed expensive but the place was packed, so it is popular.

I had the filet mignon, cooked to perfection, onion straws that are usually clumped and soggy at other places were perfect and the fries were actually hot when the plate arrived. My partner had sea bass and risotto, no complaints. The cheese cake, omg, huge portion, homemade and better than La Florentinas ! Came here because of the
coupon but will definitely come back!

Had dinner here tonight with girlfriends, everything was amazing. Our service was exceptional. Drinks were perfect pours! I got the beef Marsala and the steak was cooked to temp and sides (risotto and veg) were delicious. The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly! Will be returning.

The steak was tasty but one in our party did not get the medium well she ordered, it was red. And the waitress was nice and accommodating but we waited an hour for our meal. Also crowd got rowdy at one point, people were yelling and no one broke it up. Won’t go back.

I was in Springfield on business and came across this restaurant online. Being from Chicago I have more than my share of great steakhouses including Gibsons, Maestros, The Palm, Ruth’s Chris, Ditkas, Gene and Georgettis I could go on and on… but I wasn’t in Chicago and I was craving a nice bottle of red wine and a great steak. Thank heavens for Blackjack Steakhouse. The wine list is well rounded and very affordable. The owner Michael had previously owned a wine bar and is very knowledgeable without being greedy. I tried about half the menu and a bunch of wine and everything was solid. Do yourself a favor stop reading this and go to Blackjacks NOW.

2^nd time here, this time, to celebrate our Anniversay. Both times have been exceptional. Good food, great service, full bar with great drinks. Ask for Meagen, her attentive service and exceptional menu knowledge is awesome and fun. If you are near downtown Springfield, this is a must visit restaurant.

We had an excellent experience at Blackjack. The food was superb — I had scallops and my husband had filet, and we both really enjoyed our meals. We didn’t order dessert because we were full, but the desserts we saw delivered to other tables looked outstanding. The service was excellent, too. They were very attentive, particularly the owner. He greeted us at the door and visited our table a couple of times. He clearly cares about his customers and his efforts didn’t go unnoticed. We will definitely go back!

My son and I had a very positive experience here. We found a parking spot directly in front of this downtown establishment… we were greeted at the door by a fellow sitting at the bar…“welcome to blackjack steakhouse!!”. decent crowd for a Thursday night. Everyone here is very friendly including the owner (?) and our server. I had a fancy manhattan… potent and tasty but smallish for the price ($ 12.50!). the French onion soup was very good. made perfectly. I had the rib eye… delicious and it came with excellent garlic mashed potatoes and a very nice vegetable medley. My son had the large prime rib. huge slab of beef… he said very tasty and tender. enjoyed his baked potato and veggies. no room for dessert. Don’t be put off by the slightly «dicey» neighborhood. Worthy of all carnivores support!

Food was excellent ! Front of house staff not so much.

Some of the touches are a little out of sync with the restaurant they’d like to be, but other than that it was a solid move from the Italian that used to be here.
Cocktail (Manhattan) was good, maybe a little orangey. Chicken tenderloins were an enjoyable appetizer. I’d get Cajun if ordering again. Avoid the honey garlic. Burger was excellent. Mud pie was highlight. Waitress was top notch though kitchen was a little slow.
