Overpriced and uncooperative sandwich Shop. Sandwiches have fancy names and recipes but are basically tasteless. I ordered a chicken sandwich without Prosciutto but they told me that I had to give 24 hour notice. However, when I got the sandwich, I just opened it and took off the prosciutto. I guess the chef was trying to impress that it is a secret recipe. The spreads on sandwiches eaten by friends who had accompanied were sloppy and bland. To reiterate, no special taste. House specialty Milk Shakes with Alcohol. No thank you, I’ll pass. Unfortunately I have to give it a star to post the review. Save your money, go to Billiards at Springfield around the corner, famous for good sandwiches for last 30 years.

My husband and I are foodies and love to try new places… this is the BEST burger in Springfield. Upon walking in you are greeted and seated at a natural wood table. You’ll see bar and tons of hanging lights. The server brings a sold bottle or pitcher or water to the table so you can pour yourself water whenever you want as much as you want. My Jamaican burger was seasoned so perfectly — not too spicy at all but the combo allowed you to taste all the flavors. The fries are very crispy. We had the salt and vinegar fries which were again not overwhelming but in no way lacking flavor. The service was great, the business was clean and professional. I highly recommend Black Sheep! It’s worth every penny!

Décor is great, service is very good. Food is ok but pricey for what it is. The shakes are very good and creative.

I’ll start with the positives: — Friendly staff — The fries are good — They make shakes with Andy’s custard And now the negatives: — My burger was quite charred and dry. — I did not care for the bun — My «foodie» burger lacked the promised«carmalized» onions. The onions were sautéed but not carmalized. — They used way too much of whatever soft cheese was on the burger. I’m most disappointed in the fact that my burger was charred and dry. This is a burger restaurant, after all. The burger should be moist and flavorful. I fear that the attention is on style over substance here. I’m sure many are very impressed over the style. I’m just not. I’ve had far better burgers in Springfield. Black Sheep shows promise, but ultimately has too many flaws to be worthy of the hype. Suggestions: — buy better buns — get more creative with the sauces — You have presentation of the burger down pat. Now work on improving preparation and you have a winner with staying power.

I have heard rave reviews about this place and have tried to eat here a couple of times but there is always a wait. I ordered the blackberry pie shake and the ugly burger. The blackberry pie shake is made with Andys custard. It was delicious. I loved that it was actually made from pie and not just blackberries. The burger was great but I was a little full from the shake so I took half it home. Surprisingly it reheated well. We also had the smoked fries. I am not a fan of those so I will not order them again. Service was great and attentive. The ambiance and décor is modern rustic and I loved the vibe of the place. It is pricey for just a burger and fries but as an occasional treat, I think it is worth it.

Very nice atmosphere and food. Can’t make a reservation so be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes for a table at all times. If you sit at the bar you don’t have to wait but be prepared for cold outside air to hit you every few minutes from the entrance. I had to wear my coat the whole time. Milkshakes make it so worth it.

After all the hype, my wife and I braved the Friday night crowds and waited an hour and a half for a table. Atmosphere is pretty cool, well laid out with a nice bar upstairs. We sampled a couple craft beers and were overall pretty disappointed in the beer selection, although I must say we like fairly hoppy IPAs or double IPAs and Springfield isn’t the most IPA friendly town anyway. They seemed to carry the same old Springfield local brews just like everyone else and nothing really creative outside of the local brews. After getting our table, my wife and I ordered two different burgers, my wife ordered The Foodie and I ordered the Bleus Brothers. Nice size burgers. Good presentation. The meat was very good, fresh and great quality, but I have to say the buns were store-bought, almost Wendy’s like buns which really didn’t pair well with the burger. On top of that, after a few bites both my wife and I had to get a side order of sriracha just because the burgers were so bland… the sauces/ingredient pairings did nothing for us. Overall, very disappointing burgers. Instead of pricing these burgers at $ 9.95, I think these burgers should be more like $ 12.95-$ 15.95; spend a bit more money on actually having a bun that pairs well with their 100% steak burgers and then have a chef better prepare some sauces/ingredients that make these burgers unique.

Oh, black sheep… I finally get to review you… I have tried to eat at this restaurant three other times. Yes, three. One time, I even got so far as to put my name on the list and stand with my butt cheeks touching somebody else’s dinner table. I felt really uncomfortable with that so I left. This time, an early dinner was on the menu. We got seated right away at a table in the middle of the restaurant. next time you visit, be sure to avoid this table if at all possible. I get the artisan handcrafted authentic woodwork local source whatever… But our table had a three foot long crack in it that makes me feel like I’m going to lose my french fries. I immediately started with an Elvis milkshake… With booze of course. Holy moly, this is something I’m going to crave forever. This milkshake was delicious. I could have sat and drank four of them, if they hadn’t been almost $ 10 a piece for regular size pint glass full of boozy goodness. I ordered the Blues Brothers burger, which sounded good in theory. I’m a huge fan of blue cheese, so that’s probably why I was a touch disappointed. The blue cheese completely disappears on this burger, only to be overwhelmed with a giant bun. I ended up taking the bun off and just eating the burger. Honestly. Their sweet candied bacon or whatever it is absolutely made this burger. They need to serve just a cup of it as an appetizer. Maybe they can make it pretty like a bouquet or centerpiece or something, but it needs to happen. The tables are very close together, which is a huge downfall to me. The servers were bumping into my chair and my purse all evening… A coat rack and purse hooks would do wonders in that place!

Stopped by with a group of co-workers. Got there at 11:20 and the place was about 75% full with a steady line of people building up. So getting here early was a good idea. Dinning room is a bit cramped but they do offer a variety of group sized tables and booths. I went for the Blues Brother burger and a side of maple smoked fries. Two 4 oz patties cooked medium well, candied bacon, avocado, mild blue cheese made for a killer flavor combo. The avocado was a little more firm that I’d like but overall the burger was excellent. Maple smoked fries were also very good but after the burger I just didn’t have any room for them. Others also said they really enjoyed their burgers. Can’t wait to come back and try some of their other burgers.

WOW! Awesome food, awesome drinks, awesome environment! We had habanero pickles, the boss alcoholic milkshake, ugly cheeseburger, good yogi, and salt and vinegar fries. It was all beyond delicious! We had to wait about 20 minutes because they were packed, but they have a great waiting area upstairs that serves drinks. Service was very friendly and fast. We will be return customers! The only downside is they are pricey and our burgers were slightly undercooked.

Amazing burgers! The Uglyburger was to die for! Got the Willie Vanillie milkshake(non-alcoholic) it was a great vanilla shake made with andys frozen yogurt! The Baahd sauce was not bad, at all. I’d definitely come back!

Very nice place! The service is 5*! The atmosphere here is very exciting. The food however is a bit generic. Definitely recommended if you’re just looking for a nice place for some grub and drinks with a long time friend. Their shakes are to die for! — Marc C.

Loved it. The burgers are great. The buns were just the right consistency and fresh. They have a few sauces you can pick from for your fries, but that’s where I knocked off two stars. Their fries were frozen. I’m shocked. A place that outsources to local places like andy’s(their shakes) and their menu screams«ALLNATURAL» and they fries are frozen?! Service was fine, well paced. And the burgers came out quick, which is a plus. I’d come back for a burger and a shake. But fries, forget it.

I had the knife and fork and it was huge! Really good. Also had the salt and vinegar fries and they were good as well. You have to add fries with your burger because they don’t come with it. Atmosphere is really great and the services was super fast! We will come back forsure. We came in the middle of the day on a Tuesday so you might want to expect a wait.

I couldn’t believe how busy this place was on a Monday night, after having the food though, I completely understand-it was great! The service was fast, attentive, and friendly without being rushed. The burgers were great, I got the Foodie and my friend got the chicken Bijan we shared each and both were very good, cooked to perfection and good flavors. The only reason I gave it four instead of five stars is that it is very loud, the music is loud, it’s an open kitchen so them hollering at each other, and the other customers talking slightly louder than normal to be heard by each other add to the general din. The volume is not conducive to conversation, I was sitting next to my friend at the bar and had to keep asking her to repeat herself. But if loud is your thing-hey, you do you. Will definitely try a shake next time.

I am not the type of person to try new things(I eat my burgers plain) but when we stopped in to this place I decided to give something new a shot(how different can a burger be!) The burgers were soo good. I ordered the Foodie! And loved every bite. The atmosphere was great the music was on point and then the food was amazing. DEFINITELY, EATHERE!

Atmosphere is almost everything, and this place has it. Being able to have well thought out variations on burgers and fries in a location that tends on the hipster side is something that I’ve been missing since moving here. The gourmet selection of their hamburgers simply cannot be beat in the area. Fries are terrific(I highly recommend the truffle mayo). But the crowning jewel is their offering of tipsy-milkshakes. You simply must try one. If I was to offer any recommendations, it would be to reconsider the names of the milkshakes.

Great atmosphere. Friendly, positive staff. Excellent food. I have eaten here twice in the last week because it was so good. First time I had the Yankees Reuben. It was absolutely delicious. Lots of Reubens I have tend to be dry but the meat was succulent. The buns are fresh baked and compliment the burgers perfectly. The onion rings are possibly the best I’ve ever had. They are more like thick cut onion straws, I guess. Second time I got the Mac and cheese chili waffle. This is definitely a unique enter and filling for sure. It is macaroni and cheese that they have made then poured in to a waffle maker and cooked until it’s golden. Then covered with chili, onions, and more cheese sauce… It is just amazing… Add a Bloody Mary and you have a damn fine hangover cure.
