Went here for taco Tuesday, .99 on tap bud lite and .99 beef tacos. The tacos were awesome! My fiancé went with steak tacos which were also seasoned great but stayed on the grill a bit too long. Great prices, great food! Go here

Hands down the best in Springfield. Truly the most authentic. Love their food and service.

There were many problems with my visit last night. First, it was the worst service ever. I didn’t get a refill the entire time I was there and had my first glass gone before my meal came out. Second thing that was bad is when you order cheese dip to eat with your chips you expect to get it at least 10 mins before your meal. So when you get your cheese dip then your meal 1 min later it sucks. Lastly, the food was very plain. It had just a plain flavor. I went here because of the great reviews on Unilocal but this place sucked.

A great local place for traditional food. Many items are very well prepared. Probably the best selection in town for tequilas.

Very good salsa! Loved the cilantro in it! Beans and rice are very good. Though the portion size might be a little small but was totally full after I ate it! Would gladly do this again!

It’s inexpensive. That’s one thing I usually expect from Mexican food. Food tastes ok. Service is mediocre. Was hard to enjoy the food after seeing the dirty bathrooms. Just kept thinking if the public bathrooms look this gross what’s going on behind the scenes.

We’ve been looking for some good Mexican in Springfield after having our minds blown at place in KC. So we gave Amigo’s a try. Place is small and a bit cramped. The menu was pretty standard. Chips and salsa were ok. Nothing over the top but not bad. Added some Tapatio and gave it an little extra flavor. Rice and Beans we both agreed were better than average for Springfield but still not amazing. My burrito was full of nice cuts of meat but were missing the extra something that I was hoping to find. Price was standard. So Amigos is A-ok in my book but I think we will keep looking for amazing Mexican.

We chose this place because of the reviews on Unilocal and google. We were not disappointed! The food was excellent and the wait staff friendly. Fantastic fajitas and the chili relleno was great also. I will be back for sure

The best frozen margarita I have had in a long time! The service was just okay… nothing special, but the food was excellent! It’s cinco de mayo and the place was busy but our food arrived quickly. The Chile relleno was outstanding… the tacos Azada were wonderful and the beans were nothing short of fantastic! Salsa was pretty good as well but the Pico lacked a little bit. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place!!!

Food was just ok. Service was horrible, had to ask for refills and waited for ten minutes for the waitress to take our order.

Good little hole in the wall Mexican place that delivers great food. I got the Burrito Deluxe and my fiancé got the Amigos Special. Both were very good and full of flavor. When we came in there was a party of 25 ahead of us so service was a little slow, but it was understandable. Could have used another waiter to help out the 2 that were there.

Can’t give this place enough praise! Service is spot on, food is great and they make a mean margarita. If you like Mexican food, this would be my number one recommendation. Just a warning though: the place fills up quick(always a good sign), so keep that in mind when making dinner plans.

This place is a gem! We went for lunch. The prices seemed reasonable and the food was great! Its definetly not authentic mexican but a great tex-mex joint to eat at! You can tell this is a family owned operation and the staff really all works together to accommodate all the customers. The salsa is great, it’s chunky not just a liquid like most other places! I would recommend requesting the spicy salsa and mixing the two together… it’s excellent! We had chicken fajitas, rice, refried beans, chicken enchilada with cheese sauce, beef enchilada with cheese sauce, and a beef quesdilla. Everything was really great. no complaints! We will definetly be back!

I hate to be the«I’m from Southern California, so I know Mexican food» person, but guys, it’s true. I’ll admit we don’t have BBQ that can ever compare with what you guys have here and you’ll just have to take my word on the mexican food thing, ok? I’ve been in Springfield for going on a month now and had been putting off going out for mexican food because I suspected I wasn’t going to find anything as good as what we’re used to/what I can make at home/what I grew up eating. Based on the reviews, we thought this would be our best bet and gave it a try. It was busy when we arrived on a Saturday afternoon, always a good sign. Then we tasted the salsa that was brought out with the chips and we were immediately a little concerned. There’s an awful chain of americanized Mexican restaurants in Seattle called Azteca and this salsa tasted exactly like what they serve — not a good sign. It was overly sweet and had no heat going on at all. The chips were good — thick and crunchy, but the salsa needed a heavy splash of tapatio to have any flavor at all. We’d been out beer tasting earlier so in an attempt to not have consumed all the carbs in the world, I opted for fajitas and the dude ordered the spicy burrito. Our food came out and the first thing I noticed was that the fajitas were drowning in oil. Overall, my food wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t good. Greasy chicken and veggies, served with a side of pretty standard beans and very bland rice and a dollop of sour cream and unnaturally green avocado goo(zero other flavors happening here, I’m not even calling it guacamole). After taking a few bites of his burrito, the best the dude could come up with was that it tasted vaguely like something you’d get at taco bell. Again, a not very flavorful mix of beans and meat in a red sauce. I’d asked for a hotter salsa and they brought out something that was still incredibly mild, but much, much better than what they bring you with chips. We were hungry so we ate our food, but it definitely didn’t satisfy the mexican food craving. Unilocal’s explanation for two stars is «Meh. I’ve experience better.» which is pretty much exactly how I feel about this place. The service was good, the atmosphere was just fine, but the food left a lot to be desired. I’m wondering if they’re capable of doing proper Mexican preparations but have just had to modify the flavors to suit the palate of the average customer in the area? Do I need a secret password to get them to make me a great plate of spicy chile verde or some homestyle arroz con pollo? Who knows, we may try a few more places and decide, yep, this is IT for Mexican food here, but in the meantime I think I’ll reserve Mexican dining for my home cooking or my trips back home every few months.

Good food for great price! First time I went the chips wasn’t crunchy and cold. salsa were off. I love my steak fajita so I gave it second chance. I went back and everything were suddenly better. I have huge plate of yummy fajita for less than 10 buck. Only downside was the Salsa was warm, I think they put in the bottle and left it outside for a while. The services aren’t the best but you can’t beat the price.

From the outside and frankly on the inside it doesn’t look like much but the food is fast, decent, and cheap.

Being the poor college grads that we are, a group of my friends and I decided on trying out Amigos for lunch last Monday. We had heard rumors around town it was the best Mexican food place in Springfield(believe me. this is an on going search for me. Being from Oklahoma, no Tex Mex compares to what I’m used to). What sealed the decision was that we heard Amigos had a cheap lunch menu. And it was true! $ 4.99 Lunch fajitas. That’s all I need to say. 4 out of the 5 people in our group ordered them… and even the 5th person enjoyed the fajitas more than his own meal. Though this was still not the best Mexican food I’ve had in town or ever. I can def say the food matched the price splendidly! The atmosphere was quaintly enjoyable and the service was great and very quick. I can’t wait to go back and take advantage of their happy hour. I hear their Margaritas are the best in town. I believe it with the HUGE selection of tequila above their small bar. Amigos is great cheap Mexican food! Try it!
