Health Conscious Natural Food

I went there on several occasions but never gets ready to eat item, finally decided to try a fresh squeezed juice two words almost puke. tastes like chemical, customer service is the worst, donlustert try to even speak with the owner Larry because he doesn’t want any feedback back… lack luster, rude, Very ARROGANT. My best and favourite health food spot is roti road house café on 129 merrick blvd. The best in the neighborhood.

Excellent food, when Iam in the area I will only buy my lunch or dinner there, the patties are very good and the carrot cake is amazing for the reason of no sugar used. With my selection is always the wheat grass.

Just when I thought that i was doomed to shopping at GNC or Vitamin Shoppe I just happened to pass this place. The patties are as good as the reviews say (fish, veggie, soy… havent tried the ackee pattie yet) and I would defiantly come back for the Irish Moss drink and the carrot cakes. I live in philly but I work in queens during the week (Mon-​Fri) and with the options being so limited for healthy food this place has become my home away from home. They have an abundance of teas that it’s like being in a tea museum. Some of which I’ve never heard of before, but nonetheless I stock up on them; as I do with the incense sticks, toiletries and grocery items. I have yet to get a hot plate, but i have been able to try some of the different juice blends they make at the juicbar which are absolutely delicious, my favorite being a Rasta bland and a (mango/​pineapple/​banana) smoothie. All in all this place has a little bit of everything to satisfy everyone who comes in.

I was in need of a health food store and as I was driving by I fell upon this place! I was so happy because there isn’t too many health food stores in Queens for some crazy reason!
I went into the store and saw to ladies behind the counter. I waited until they finished talking and asked for an item I was looking for. The lady looked at me with a screwed face and was like I don’t know what you are talking about… I asked can you ask the other lady please. Instead of asking her the two ladies started to have a full blown conversation with another worked that came from the hot food section! At that point I should of walked out because that was the 3^rd poor customer service I was shown in my short time in the store. I stood waiting and they just kept on talking!
I really wanted my item so I smiled and walking around the store to see if I found the item. As I was walking out the lady said to me is this you was looking for, I turned back and looked. I replied no it’s not and I was about to ask for another item the other lady cut me off and said oh well! I was so pissed I quickly replied thanks for time and walked out!
I was having such a good day and thought omg yes I finally found a health food store but clearly I was wrong this isn’t the store I ever want to go into again! I will keep on searching for a health food that have the items I need and they appreciate everyone that walks through their doors!
I also want to try their parties people was raving about! How about they ran out! What the crazy all around at this store!

When i lived a couple of blocks from Health concious, I’d go probabaly 3 times a week and order a juice usually Green Juice or Rasta Blend, a small shot of wheat grass, a veggie pattie and maybe a piece of carrot cake. It is a bit pricey but still very reasonable on the scale of healthy juice bars. They also sell vitamins, hot plates and much more. It is the gem of the neighborhood. I still stop there quite often.

I love this Place they sell all type of natural foods here… health drinks. vitamins etc… But I only get the fish patties its very tasty…

H. C is a saving grace within South East Queens. With the over saturation of fast food joints ie: Lame Dragon Chinese retaurants, Crown Fried’s, Kennedy Fried’s and Supermarket brands that open south of Hillside Avenue, and all of a sudden can no longer recollect what good customer service is, what merchandising is, and how fresh produce, and fresh meat is supposed to look and smell, Health Conscious serves as a means of detoxification. The business is rather small, but fully loaded. Though they can be pricey, daily, one is able to eat fish and organic soybean based prepared vegetarian meals, some of the tastiest Jamaican style fish and soy based patties (consistently hot, flaky, and flavorful crust), a large selection of natural plant based dietary supplements, fresh roots and spices (sold by the ounce), a decent selection of organic produce, and a variety of organic/​all natural normal house hold food products (pancake mix, cookies, etc.)sans the Gar-​bah-​jay. This place is always worth checking out, the staff is always knowledgeable and friendly, and the fresh pastries are excellent.
