This place is a great dive for cd digging. I wish it was bigger and I could go more often.

Soooooooo this store was different. Lots of cassettes, some 8 tracks, CDs, and LPs. The gentleman behind the counter was polite, he was on the phone most of the time I was in the store. Some new vinyl, mostly used. The used records were really used! Nothing I looked at was in great shape and everything had premium prices. I left empty handed…

I come here every now and then to check out the used CDs and browse the rest of the store. James is a hard working man and a good person. His prices may be a little exorbitant to some extent but he has to compete with the digital age somehow. I will definitely continue to support his business for years to come and I would recommend others to check his store out.

I LOVETHISPLACE! It’s a bit pricy but love the vibe and I love their collection. They have everything I need from antique to new. Btw. Their posters are amazing. I would buy 10s and 20s of them but I’m a poor college student… I like how the workers are always so chill and nice. Thank you for opening such a great place in this boring town… LOL but yeah LOVEIT

I grew up around this area and used to visit this store almost every other day to listen to new/used cd’s and talk with the owner about music. You can tell that the owner is passionate about music and enjoys working at an independent record store. If you are looking for a place to buy records(even quadraphonic), new and used CD’s, rock memoribillia, or just to get some musical direction, visit James @ MusicTown. —-the store always has some great classical rock music or newly released music playing in the background. My favorite music store by FAR! Check it out!

Nowadays you can fire up your computer and download just about any song you can think of and be listening to it in a matter of seconds. That’s great, but what if you LIKE leaving the house? What if you like the sights, smells, sounds and feeling of flipping through CD’s and records, looking for that right music for the right time? It seems to me it’s back to your indy record shop(if you still have one.) We happen to be blessed with such a local shop: Music Town. They can’t beat Amazon on price or sheer inventory, but they have soul. If you’re a regular, you’ll be greeted by name and given personalized recommendations based on your interests. Best of all, you’ll be given the chance to sort through hundreds of albums, picking them up and asking, «What about this one?» You can go to the local artists section and find CD’s that never have and possibly never will make national release. And you can have interaction with actual, breathing humans to talk about music, the arts and life. Don’t get me wrong, music lover’s are a lot better off with this new, emerging model than we were when brick and mortar shops were the only thing around. But it sure does feel great to have options, and Music Town is the best in its class. Let’s keep this gem alive and never forget the value of locally owned and operated businesses.
