Awesome environment; quiet and not a lot of folks around to annoy you. Vietnamese sandwiches are great! Will definitely come here again.

I love this place. I eat here probably twice a week. The food is always fresh and tasty. I have tried almost every dish on the menu. I highly recomend the Wonton Soup, Spring Rolls and Verm Bowls. A+++

Sandwiches are decent if you can’t travel over to 1960, but the soup is nothing special. Spring rolls are also blah. Service is so, so sweet. If you want soup, head next door. Otherwise, these sandwiches are better than Datpho and the people are wayyyyyyyyy nicer.

I tried their combination sandwich, a beef stew, and a Vietnamese coffee. Very disappointed.

Wow! I’m new to Houston, so I was looking for a place to have some coffee and study. I stumbled upon La Baguette so I figured I’d give it a go. When you walk in you see a clean, quaint dining area and a counter full of French pastries. There are flowers on each table and the walls are covered with French art work. Then you see the menu – and this may seem out of place initially – but there are Vietnamese dishes and drinks along side the French pastries and breakfasts. A very nice Vietnamese woman greeted me as I walked in the door and offered me some Vietnamese coffee. I obliged – it was very strong but still sweet. Perfect for studying. An hour or so later, she brought out some curry chicken and vegetable soup with a warm baguett. She said I looked hungry, and she wanted me to try it. The soup was perfect – thick and just the right amount of curry. Based on the great food I had and the incredibly hospitable owner, I will definitely be back again. She told me that she recently let go of the old staff and is running the place on site now. Next time I come, I will try some pastries and bubble tea.

This is probably the closest Vietnamese sandwich shop near my house which is good. However, I often forget about it since I rather have a bowl of phở next door than a sandwich, but if I had a craving, this place could hit the spot for me. This shop is owned by the same family as the other La Baguette shops in Houston. I used to frequent the one on Milam street in Midtown before life in the ‘burbs, which is owned by the sister. So definitely a mom and pop business in Houston. You can get your usual banh mi here and I always stick to combination or the meatball(xiu mai). They also have FRIEDBANANA! And Banh tieu! And egg rolls. I think they also have more desserts on the weekend that are more traditional Vietnamese and also French goodies. The owner lady is nice. I came in to get dessert, fried banana, with my toddler son and she gave him a chocolate Nestle drumstick. :)

Vietnamese sandwich shop in the Spring area? Sweet I’ll check them out. I had the combination bánh mì and café sua da(Vietnamese Iced Coffee). This place wasn’t bad considering the area for Asian food, but I’ve experienced much better down in the Houston area. The iced coffee wasn’t that great here, but if you’re in a hurry, it’ll satisfy you. Probably won’t be back unless I’m too lazy to drive all the way down south and if i’m craving some banh mi.

Good place to have Vietnamese sandwiches in Spring. The combo sandwich is ok, but I like their BBQ sandwiches better. I haven’t try any other dishes yet. A little bit overpriced($ 3.50) compared to those in Houston(with a better quality). I heard that they have sandwiches in the same shopping but haven’t try them yet. If it’s Dat Phở, I don’t want to go there. PERIOD! I give this place a 4 stars for the quality in SPRING. If it’s Houston, I might give them 3 stars.

This is a new Vietnamese sandwich place that opened in a shopping strip that already has a sandwich and phở restaurant. I don’t think this was such a good idea on everybody’s part. This was probably the second-least extraordinary banh mi I’ve ever had. The baguette is an average size. There was way too much soy sauce soaked into it. There was only ONE slice each of cucumber and jalapeño. Really? And probably only 1 – 2 strands of cilantro. There was a good ratio of pickled carrots to meat, however. What really put me off was that the sandwich maker prepared the sandwiches with her bare hands. I’m not in the sandwich business but I’m pretty sure she should have been using gloves and that her hair should have been pulled back or covered. Excuse me, but I really don’t know where your hands have been and I’d rather you not make my meal with your mystery hands. This place just opened and I wish them luck. However, I doubt I’ll be returning. :(
