We were at Gringo’s tonight with family… I had the Cozumel Chicken Salad with Margarita Vinaigrette dressing which was all very good. It’s also a beautiful place to have dinner. We all enjoyed our food & being there & look forward to going back again…

Today very weak drinks, basically lime juice with salt! No lunch specials like they used to have. Basically company saying«screw the lunch crowd»! I have been to every location in Houston, and this location is the worst one I’ve seen. Very disappointed in quality of drinks and the fact that certain things have changed. Not sure if it’s worth the expense, since I’ve passed up other good Mexican restaurants to come here. Won’t make that mistake again. The service in the bar however was very good.

Food is very texmex. It is somewhat overpriced. They almost never change the menu so it’s always the same options to choose from. Drinks are good but very over priced. Service is slow. Not worth the LONG line waits.

I have been eating at «The Original» Pearland Gringo’s since 1994 and the food recipes are the same. The food is very good if you can get the server to get it out hot & right the first time. The chips and hot sauce are excellent if you can get the staff to keep them filled properly. Basically, the service sucks! The hostesses are great, but the waitstaff & chips/salsa people are awful! The only reason we come is for the food and expect to have to have it made at least twice to get it right and beg to get more chips/salsa. Maybe if management really got onto the service staff it would be worth going more, but we just grin & bear it to get the food maybe once a month.

The food is good. Has never disappointed. Good service and its a comfortable, family restaurant. They have a bar and also has good service. Overall one of my favorite restaurants in Houston.

This is my second time trying Gringo’s, initially I was a bit skeptical considering that my first experience was not the best. However, this time around was totally different. I had the seafood enchiladas along with re-fried beans and a Corona margarita… two of my favs and they did not let me down! Many would say that a restaurant such as Gringo’s is «just another Tex-Mex» establishment but I like to give credit where it’s due and I enjoyed my experience here and will be back!

At first, the sign, the outside playground, and walking in might confuse you a little bit… Considering the sign has a Vegas feel to it but it’s a Mexican restaurant – not sure how to go by that but I guess it works? If you’re looking for a nice, acceptable, family dinner spot – check this place out! Our waitress was great, attentive and kind, not over-bearing like some. The food was simple, had some flavor, but still had to use the S&P on it. What was the surprise was the tres leches cake! Man, I would easily rate it right under my number one! It was spongey, and not too sweet compared to some. I would recommend it to anyone! Cheers!

Went during lunch and the food was great. They have an abundance of staff on hand. Very professional! Clean and unique environment. I will definitely come again…

I came here with a girlfriend for lunch. Place was busy. Leave your number with the hostess. They text you to your phone when the table is ready. They have chairs inside and outside for you to use while waiting. There is a play area for the kids outside. Our waiter Russell was really kind, funny, and sweet. We ordered queso with our chips while we wait for our food. Chips are crunchy, salty, and hot. We shared a Plata Zapata since we got our fill on the chips. We ordered an extra chicken taco. Lunch was less than $ 20. It was overall a good lunch.

Cons: Hostess staff of 5 weak and unfriendly Sat us at a dirty table Wait staff rude, pushy and lazy 3 Sets of dirty utensils Water glasses left un-refilled, had to ask several times No chocolate milk, but they had syrup & milk but would not make Tortillas dry and stale Waiter would not clear table, said it wasn’t his job, but handed us our check. Pros: Chicken nuggets good Creamy jalapeño sauce good Stuffed avocado good Atmosphere nice Verdict: Everything wrong with this«chain» restaurant is staffing issues for most part. Ok food & price for what it is.

My aunt and I went here for my birthday, based on other people saying the food was good. Hmmm… I wasn’t impressed. I honestly don’t remember what I ordered, but I thought it tasted like frozen food that had been reheated. Nothing special or noteworthy. When the server wouldn’t directly answer which enchilada sauce was the best, that should have been a sign. Service was average. Our server came by and asked several times if we we were ok and we said we were. We decided that we wanted to look at the dessert menu and he informed us that the kitchen was closed. He said he thought by asking if we we were ok, that he was confirming we didn’t want anything else. Strange. Every other server at every other restaurant I’ve been to has directly asked if I want dessert AND told me the selections. Our server was very interested in the game on the screen, so perhaps that distracted him. All and all, this place isn’t just ok. I won’t be back. I’m new to the area and looking forward to exploring other places.

I genuinely love this place! This location is so much better than the one in Cypresswood. Every single time I go, I always get their Citrus tea for drinks and the Veracruz for the meal. I love teas and hands down, Gringo’s citrus tea is amazing. The Veracruz is also great. Although, it’s a little too big so I always share with someone or end up taking it home. Gringo’s chips and dip can make you full and lose your appetite because it is just pure perfection. In this picture, I tried to stray away from my usual and order the Chile Releno and it was okay. It wasn’t the best but it was good enough. Kinda wish I ordered my usual. However, the only disadvantage is the fact that it’s always crowded, and I’ve never gone without a line. But overall, I highly recommend this place!

I was excited to try this location out for the first time last night. There seems to be a shortage of good Mexican food these days in Spring. The restaurant was PACKED– especially for a Tuesday night after happy hour had ended. We found two seats at the bar however, so we avoided the wait. Not sure if it’s really just the bar area or certain spots around the restaurant, but it was insanely dark– like had to use the flashlight on your cell phone to read your menu dark. We ordered Margaritas and enjoyed the chips and salsa right away as we spent 10 minutes trying to read our menu. Our food took a little while to get to us, but we were happy with what we ordered. I got chicken enchiladas with green sauce that were delicious and my husband got a combo plate that he enjoyed. I will definitely be back as this location is super convenient and the food and drinks were great.

I come here a few times a month with my wife and her family. It’s a great alternative for those who enjoy Chuy’s… There’s free ice cream and a children’s playground outside to make up for the long waits. This place is always Hopping. Try the Tres G margarita!

I feel bad not updating this sooner, but it’s been an awfully LONG week… **** Woot woot for back to school time****** Anyhow, in celebration of back to school, my bestie and I took Frank’s offer and had a celebratory lunch at Gringo’s this past Monday; so huge thanks to Frank Martinucci for asking me back for another try and second chance. I was happy to see the staff was better organized this time around. They also have a new waiting system, where they text you to let you know when your table is ready. 5*s The sauces with the tortilla chips were a little different this time around; Frank later confirmed that they had tweaked the recipes. Also, I asked for a hotter salsa and they brought me the«Bar Sauce»; it was spicier than the other two salsas and very tasty. My friend and I enjoyed sauces. 5*s I ordered«El Pollo Marisco», it was delicious. The chicken is topped with shrimp and crawfish in a wine sauce. The rice, beans, and salad were all very good. And to drink, I ordered the Mango Fruit Tea, it was delicious. 5*s My friend ordered«Pollo El Dorado», she loved it. All in all, we were both very happy and satisfied with our meals. My friend says they have a great dessert called«Chocolate Explosion» or something like that, so I’m looking forward to another visit. To be continued ;)

Yummie! Great service and the food was very good. The citrus lemonade was so good. I will definitely come back here to try a few other things off the menu. They also have complimentary ice cream when your heading out. 8⁄7 here again to pick up my card and have the best soup around. Great service! Don’t pass this place up.

This place is beautifully decorated and in a great location. Sadly the food doesn’t warrant me being a frequent visitor. I have been twice now since its opening and not been impressed. It’s just okay. The salsas need serious help! The red one has no flavor at all. No spice, no heat. Can it even be called salsa? The green one is just plain gross. It tastes like green tinted mayonnaise. Drinks are weak on the liquor and heavy on the mix. They don’t have lunch specials which I thought was kind of weird. So a salad will run you over $ 10. The Cozumel chicken salad was tasty and presentation was unique. However, it just had a small amount of chicken salad on top of a mound of lettuce. Their combination plates also seemed to be piled high with way too much lettuce. I was hopeful the Spring area would finally be getting a decent Tex-Mex restaurant.

Why 4 stars? Because it triggers my nostalgia. — — — More than 10 years ago(wow) I was a freshman at community college, who worked in the automotive department of the Pearland Wal-mart. One of my favorite places to go for lunch was the original Gringo’s in Pearland. Tex-Mex in general takes me back to my days as a Houston youth, but Gringo’s especially was always one of my favorites. This new Gringo’s in Spring… holy crap. It’s like a Gringo’s museum. There’s a huge playground out front for kids, and it’s very necessary. We waited over an hour, and it seems like that’s the norm at this new location. The only thing holding me back from 5-stars is that our server would disappear for incredibly long amounts of time. I realize that this is a newer restaurant, with newer employees, and we visited on a very busy night… but you just can’t ever have your server be completely unseen for 15 minutes at a time.
