This is a very interesting place. I call it my local dive bar and love it every time I go there. The bartender is great, she has made us some of her specialties and our norms on point each time. We have had many fun conversation with the other that come in and frequent the place. They have karaōke the most nights and that turns into a blast.

OMG – This place is so much fun! I was there for a fundraiser to «End Endo,» and I had a blast. The band, «The Scavengers» were really awesome, but the highlight was our bartender Tanya. So much fun, and really cared about this event. The place doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it’s got a lot of heart. I’ll be back.

This place is very intimate. Kind of split in two sections, one side designated more for regulars and the other side for newbies. They have free pool on Sundays which is nice. The music is a little loud which makes me seem old but it’s almost impossible to carry a conversation with anyone. The pitchers are decently priced and there are a lot of TVs that play a variety of television. The bartenders are pretty awesome! Very friendly! It is located next to a laundromat which makes doing laundry a lot more fun! There is also a liquor store and a 7 – 11 within walking distance which is awesome. There are a lot of weird people that stop in but… it is a bar…

Shooters was an unexpected blast! Total dive bar — but clean! Great live music on a Saturday afternoon courtesy of a bluesy-classic rock retro-y kinda band called the Scavengers. Interesting, diverse crowd, not expected. I think that had a lot to do with the sexy bartender, Tanya Linda. My kind of good time girl. I was surprised at how much fun it was. I plan to back. Lots of fun and very welcoming.

Shooters is one of those great hole in the wall dive bars that is off the beaten track but worth the drive! One main reason why I visit Shooters is Tanya Linda, she is by far my favorite bartender of all times because not only does she serve them up fast with a smile but she also introduces the newest drinks to us! Tanya also brings in great bands and honestly what more can you ask for in a bar than excellent customer service, excellent drinks and excellent live music? Top notch bar!!!

So glad that I found my favorite bartender Sandy is still slinging drinks with the best of them. Chill spot. Low key. 3 pool tables and a fun night of karaōke. I will definitely be back

Cool place, they serve drinks stong as fk. Friendly bar, cute german shepard while I was there. 3 pool tables, next door to 7 – 11 for munchies. I will say this though, Its scary as shit to walk in. I pulled the shortest straw so I had to open the door and peek in. Clean, Friendly establishment. As they say, don’t judge a book by its cover. ohh… P. S. Oh the karaōke was fun there too! P. P. S. The redhead bartender can sing, don’t let her fool you to think she is bad!

Shooters Was a perfect Venue for our Tribute Band. «Stone Temple Tribute» Tanya the Bartender helped us get the ball rolling to reach out to local folks and beyond. We were well received. I can’t leave out the specialty drinks Tanya made exclusively for our show. Thank You Tanya!!! All the local folks and Shooters!

Shooters is the dive bar of my dreams. It is unassuming on the outside, but on the inside, the drinks are well priced, there is always parking, there are multiple pool tables, a juke-box, and TANYA is one of the best bar tenders I’ve encountered in my life. The customer service I receive pretty much determines whether or not I will bother coming back to any establishment, and Tanya has made me a full-fledged Shooters fan!

Unexpected great time at a hidden dive bar! You have to look hard to find this one but it’s worth it. As soon as we(nervously) walked in we were immediately set at ease by the friendliness of both the patrons and the smile of Amanda, the bartender. Plus, they have Karaōke on Wednesday nights! Great service, inexpensive good drinks, open pool tables,…hmmmmm,…we might have to check this place out again,…

This is a dive bar without question, exactly what I was looking for at the time. It doesn’t pretend to be anything more and I like that. The only negative thing I will point out is their stated hours do not seem to be correct … every time(including today) I come by in the early afternoon they are not open 1 pm this time) so I am not sure when they really open. But if you need a place to get a drink without the commercial hype and prices, this place will work — pretty much the only one in this area of town.

People who give negative reviews probably aren’t used to going to true dive bars. I have been in some bad ones being a Texas native. This is what this place reminds me of a typical Texas type dive bar. Cheap drinks and friendly people for the most part. Good place to sing karaōke which is the main reason I go. You want fancy stay away from here because you wont find it. Words to the wise make sure you take everything with you when you leave otherwise it will be gone.

Don’t let the shady exterior fool you, Shooters really isn’t that bad of a place. If you live in the area and need a good laugh though, a fellow stand up comedian and I host a comedy open mic every Thursday evening at 9:30PM. It should be noted this isn’t just random barflies signing up to tell jokes: comedians from all over San Diego have been regularly visiting and trying out new material, as well as polishing older stuff, so there really are good quality local comics, performing for free. Check it out! Edit: Since I posted this review, the comedians in San Diego had a comedy awards show, as voted on by other comics in the local scene. Shooters Cocktails actually won for«Best Open Mic», beating out the local comedy clubs as a favorite spot for comics to work out new material. Every week we average around 15 – 20 comics from all over San Diego(and some out of town pop ins), so it’s always a blast.

Had a co-worker recently invite me and the wife to Shooters Cocktails. After getting the address and the meeting time, we departed out and a short drive later, ended up in a ghetto-ish part of Spring Valley. When we hit up the 7 – 11 next door for gas and a few dollars for the bar, our opinion of the area did not change much when we saw some hood rats and questionable characters hanging out in the store parking lot. We next proceeded to the bar across the street. Well, it was definitely a dive for sure and not much to look at. At around 10 pm, the place was nearly empty for a Saturday night but once the DJ came in and got the karaōke going, people started to filter in. After scanning the scene earlier at 7 – 11, I was a little worried about what kind of people would show up and was not in the mood for trouble but the crowd, to my pleasant surprise, turned out to be quite mellow. There was a very interesting mix of people inside… average Joe’s like myself, biker dudes, rocker dudes, old and young people, and even a few cougars as well! Me and my co-worker engaged in a few games of pool while waiting for the karaōke to begin. The pool tables were pretty old and beat up and look like they have seen their better days. The 8 ball was completely missing from our rack. Probably some tweaker stole it at some point during his or her visit to the bar. One thing about karaōke is to expect to hear some very bad singing during the course of the night but everyone of the patrons that participated that evening could actually sing to some degree. Some were even quite good. I really enjoyed watching this one dude get up and belt a few Metallica songs. He definitely had a voice for heavy metal. I drove that night to the bar so I couldn’t indulge in the alcohol but I did settle for two Corona beers which were ice cold and served by a very friendly bartender. This place is a dive, pure and simple and is located in a sketchy and dark area of Spring Valley but besides that, I had fun here and would come back to chill on a Saturday night for a few hours of pool and karaōke. Recommended if you like dive bars and hole-in-the-wall places.

I was scared to death when I read all the terrible Unilocal about Shooter’s. It sounded to me like a rat hole from hell. Admittedly, the immediate area Shooter’s is located in is not the most desirable. But the bar is not that bad; the parking lot was not as empty as the previous Unilocal would lead you to believe. Most neighbors in the trailer parks nearby seemed to be asleep in their double wides when I was there. It’s true-the drinks are reasonable and stiff. The nice female bartender that served me was pleasant. There seemed to be a group of regulars that everyone knows and that hang at Shooter’s. This cast of characters were not diabolical and actually came up to the stage where my friends were playing a secret show. The singer in the band allowed 2 of the regulars to jam on his guitar and do a little Eric Clapton karaōke. The vibe at Shooter’s is more down home than down and out. Now that may change when the natives get drunk and riled up on a weekend night or during some big football game. The stage that was set up in Shooter’s for bands and karaōke is right there in the face of all the drinkers on the bar stools but it does make for some«intimate» performances. For what it is and does, Shooter’s is an authentic, affordable place to hang out. BTW, if the trailer over yonder the fence is a earthquakin, looks like some Spring Valley rednecks might be doing some baby-makin! Must be where that Shooter’s name came from?
