HAPPYHOUR till 6pm! Nice selection of beers, well drinks and a decent house Cabernet. Full discounted starter menu with a very friendly bartender. He sent the couple next to me home with a bag of frosted dog treats(might I suggest cat treats?) They were a little slow on a wintry Thursday night so the pastry chef came out and greeted the guests. I’ve taken large groups here in the past during lunch and dinner rush and the service has been good but not great. When things are slower, Old Boys shines! Tonight I ordered the wings — move over Buffalo WW the Old Boy rules the neighborhood!

In town for business in Grand Rapids and stayed in Spring Lake. Had the perch sandwich and it had a good light batter on a well baked brioche bun. I tried the Imperial iPa and oatmeal crème pie brews. IPa was less hoppy than west coast style but had a good flavor. Great experience and I got to leave with treats for my puppy!

We visited Old Boys Brewhouse on a trip to the nearby PJ Hoffmaster this summer. We like beer tasting and were hungry. The building is a little odd in relation to the roadway. It might be a little tough for some to find. The atmosphere inside is cool and very dog themed. Dog loving kids would love this place during the day. Lots of pictures of dogs, paw prints and even two of the biggest rawhide dog chew toys you’ve ever seen. The beer was great with a variety that anyone will be able to find something they love. The food was great and not a typical brew pub fare but a little elevated. The service was good and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They were very on top of what was on tap and the palate that their specific beers would appeal to. If you are anywhere in the area I would highly suggest Old Boys Brewhouse as a stop to make for great beer and equally delicious food!

This place is cool! We put our dogs picture on the wall with all the others. Looks like a really cool atmosphere in the summer, outside dining available. Bloody Marys were phenomenal, along with the Mac n Cheese. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was delicious. I really wanted a good chicken salad but $ 15 seemed a little steep. Everything else was priced well.

The beer is pretty darn good. It’s not Founder’s, or Sierra Nevada, but is the best brew pub in town. It is a lot better here than any of the other new brew pubs that just moved into town. Old Boys has been around long enough to refine their beer. Their deck is on Spring Lake and is beautiful, but the inside atmosphere is less than desirable. I feel like I’m in a inexpensive ski lodge, with the cement floors, hard chairs and bad acoustics. I hate the menu because all the meals have dog names and you have to read every ingredient to figure out what’s on the menu. Too cutesy for me. The food is good. I like going here to enjoy the deck and the beer and a bit of food.

Good food, good drink, but incredibly loud. Get the pretzel stick appetizer, you won’t regret it.

Old Boys’ Brewhouse is an outstanding brewery tucked away at the end of the street, just down the road from the bridge to Grand Haven. It’s worth your while to find your way here, because they have a terrific wharf-like venue, an excellent atmosphere that is just cordial enough to be comfortable in jeans or dress pants, and they know beer! I arrived by bike and found a bike rack on the southern edge of the ample parking lot. I was greeted warmly, and promptly ordered up a Summer Wheat. It was Very well crafted with a good balance and nice flavor. The interior was spacious, but divided up to keep it tending toward cozy, and the staff was attentive and friendly. This is a brewhouse done right: this is what micro breweries are all about. Don’t skip Old Boys’ Brewhouse! I give it my highest recommendation.

Arrived along with my son to have a couple beers. They refused service to my son because he travels internationally and has an enhanced MI liscence. Apparently they have a «policy»…too many brew pubs in Western Michigan to waste our time with this nonsense!

Nice place to visit. Excellent in house Brews and able to accommodate our large crowd. Food was typical bar food, but was good. Within walking distance to our Holiday Inn hotel with was a bonus. Large outdoor patio area near the channel provided good ambience. Staff was attentive and offered menu suggestions when asked.

If you can find it this is a must visit. Unique concept quality brews. Try the Irascible! I’m not even a beer drinker and I loved it. Food is really good too. Best fried pickles I’ve ever had

Decent fare for a brew house, but nothing special. Then again, we did really expect much.

No complaints the food was great, great beer and services. Was here on the 4th of July. Had the chips and guacamole it was great and fresh. Sat on the patio had great views of the boats going down the river. Had live music on the patio. Our server was Erin N and has been the best server we had in the last three days since we started our vacation great job to the staff.

After seeing the mixed reviews, i was nervous but I shouldn’t have been! Spectacular! Great views on the patio of the passing boats, excellent craft beer and delicious food. My daughter had the kids menu steak– it was a generous piece of meat, cooked perfect and surprisingly flavorful for a kids menu option. We didnt have one but the burgers looked amazing. Our new«go to» spot in Grand Haven.

I love this place! We caught a variety of fish during the morning, dropped it off to get prepared and at 6 arrived to enjoy a family style meal of dinner and drinks. What fun. I especially loved the big sign on our table that said caught and cooked, so everyone knew we’d done the work! The doggy décor was a huge plus too.

Boyfriend had a seasonal wheat blueberry beer and I had an orange creamsicle drink. Service was but fast but not slow either. We shared a bbq chicken pizza pizza and fish and chips. Both were very good. The patio is very nice, it was a little loud with a wedding reception on one section of the deck.

This facility is not«dog friendly». We brought our dog in and the manager said that we had to sit outside and have our dog leashed outside their patio… essentially their property is NOT dog friendly but public property around their facility is.

The waitress was great but the food was nasty. I could of stayed home and made a better dinner and not spend over $ 70. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Truly confirmed tonight as I had a simple burger and beer… this place needs some help. The food was below average for a simple bacon /bbq burger — literally a plain bun, some scrappy bacon and shredded bbq on it. I had to ask for lettuce, onion and tomato… you know basics of a burger?! Very disappointed in the quality of this over priced $ 12 burger. Not worth it. The beer… they still have a pumpkin beer on tap and the taste defiantly shows its age from November. Not good. Had a dark stout after that that just was eh… The ONLY thing this place has going for it is its location. That’s it. Over priced average food and craft beer that needs to be revived. Management and owners — get it together.

I have had nothing but wonderful experiences at Old Boys! We always sit at the bar unless its a beautiful day then we hit up the large deck out back. The servers and bartenders are great! The bartenders Dave and Brian really know their stuff and if their not to busy will talk with you about each beer. Yes, the beers and food are a little over priced compared to the local area but its worth it. Dave the brewer is very passionate about his beers and does a great job! I’ve never been served a bad beer :) They even have boat parking for those who want to grab take out on the lake.

Cranberry toasted Turkey sandwich… Burnt bread and sweet potatoes over done and soggy. Chicken tenders… not your normal tenders… more like fish pieces… nor to good. Atmosphere was good… No crackers with my soup or napkin… Had to ask for silverware. Don’t waste your time or money!!!
