As always the food tastes greats and the service rocks. Love coming into a place where they welcome you as enter and they remember your drink orders from past visits. Just love this place.

Went for breakfast. Mom and pop type place. Food is pretty basic. Scrambled eggs with bacon and sausage. Small pancakes. Wasn’t crazy about the biscuit, bit dry, or the gravy. I will go back for lunch since I love meat and three and they had pies and cobbler! So I’ll update my review then.

Rude staff-The waitress acted like I ruined her whole day by showing up and wanting to try old school café. They weren’t even busy, but it was probably because we interrupted her texting since she did have her phone out. Food-mash potatoes were way to salty. Food was eh but I have had better from my grandmother. Restaurant-The tv was turned up way to loud which is odd since it was library quiet in the café even though it was customers in there dining. Very gloomy looking inside and the overall atmosphere is one of despair and hopelessness.

Located in an old elementary school, and actually a little hard to find unless you know the area, Old School Café does the southern Meat N’ Three thing pretty well. While I’ve never tried any of their sandwiches(they have a few for those who don’t wanna eat their veggies), the offerings on the M&3 menu are plentiful, and well done. Service was fine and the sweet tea was plenty sweet(my Georgian wife will attest to that). The prices were a little high, and doesn’t accept credit cards — so watch out. A real Meat ‘N Three sticking it out in the increasingly corporate-restaurant-filled Spring Hill is worth the extra star.

Best Meat and Three in The Hill, and the only one left I do believe. Cool atmosphere and very friendly staff.

The Old School Café is my favorite restaurant in Spring Hill. The food is great, the servers are friendly and it has a laid back atmosphere. You need to bring cash though since they don’t take cards. It’s neat how they use the old chalk boards to show you their Meat and Two selections. My favorite is their Chicken ‘n Dumplins which they serve every other Thursday. On Fridays they have catfish, and that is great too. They also have a regular menu featuring sandwiches and salads. Every thing on the menu is delicious. I love love love their burgers and the Hot Italian sandwich. At breakfast, their bacon is absolutely amazing, and they have some sort of potato fries(I can’t remember what they call them) that are delicious. If you are in the mood, save room for their homemade desserts. My favs are their cobblers and the pecan pie. Oh, the review below about smoking sections was before the ban on smoking in restaurants in TN. And the person who said they were closed must be referring to Poplar House. Now I’m hungry. Guess I’ll stop by there tomorrow :-)

Old School Café is still up and running despite what another poster said. Not sure what that’s about. It might be hard to find, though, if you’re not familiar with the area. It’s located in an old brick building. I also noticed their sign is down, maybe they’re updating it? They are also opened for breakfast now. those hours are from 7am-10am.

The best«meat &3» in the Station-Hill area will«larn you up good» with its country cookin’. It is located in the old school building hence… er…the name. The room to the left is non-smoking, the room to the right is smoking(and is a little smaller and colder), and the two daily specials(new daily) and various«vegetables» are«writ up» on the old chalkboard, as are the popular desserts, such as peach or blackberry cobbler and the quickly-vanishing chocolate pie. Meat &2 is around 6 bucks and includes roll or cornbread. Burgers and sandwiches take a little longer but are well worth the wait. After ordering, sip on a huge sweet tea and wander around to take in the array of schoolroom curios. School memorabilia and paraphernalia adorn the café walls throughout. Take some time to search through some of these treasures of recent and less recent scholastic history. No need to bring homework, or an apple, but do be sure to bring check or cash, as they have not yet learned of credit cards. Overall I give them an A-!
