Lily’s Backyard Grill

Great atmosphere but we waited for an hour for our food. We finally just left after no food. I understand these things happen but go to the customer and let them know the situation. Seems like a rookie crew in the kitchen and management. Great potential because of the atmosphere but we will steer away from this place until we hear better things.

Stopped by tonight and really enjoyed the service, food, and play area for the kids. Great place for families to unwind. A little bit of something for everyone.

This was my first time at restaurant. Waitress was nice, but had to ask her for silverware, and had to get salt and pepper along with napkins from another table. And was surprised there was no container with sugar on our table.
Started off with fried mushrooms and very disappointed when my order came out almost as fast as it went in, which told me right away they were not hand battered and made fresh. Mushrooms were frozen and deep fried, so they were bland and greasy.
Had the avocado burger which was ok. Had to look for avocado, but did find a couple thinly slices on burger. Did suggest to waitress that burger would of been better with sauté onions instead of the big ring slices of raw onions and served on a sour dough bread instead of the buns they used.
Overall, not bad, but room for lots of improvement to be comparable to some of the other burgers out in this area. Make your mushroom and onion rings hand battered and toss the plain buns for sour dough and add sauté onions and you will have people coming back for more due to the «freshness».

We love this place! We love the food and service is quick and friendly and my kids love to play at their playground.

Just stopped there with my husband and 13 month old and we had a great lunch!
My husband got the most wanted burger and it was awesome! I had the Chicago dog and fries which were both good.
The best part about this place is the playground which our daughter really enjoyed playing on. It’s on turf too which is nice for little ones. Beautiful live oaks too.
It looks like there’s a bar on site as well but of course that was closed this early in the day.

Playground for the kids is very nice. Management seems to be a bit assy, we watched management chastise a father for sitting on the swing next to his young daughter. Food is mediocre at best. The only reason we’ll be back is so the kids can play. If you don’t have children don’t bother.

I’ve eaten here three times and tonight will make a fourth. Their Chicago hot dog is a legitimate Chicago style hot dog. The meat, the bread, and the MANY condiments (including celery salt) are all authentic Chicago brands. They combine to make a hot dog you won’t soon forget. Delicious!
Aside from the hot dog, I’ve tried three different hamburgers and they were all delicious. I’ve asked for medium rare and they’ve come out closer to medium well (no pink at all), BUT they were still juicy so kudos for them using quality meat that doesn’t dry out when overcooked (too bad they were overcooked though). Since they were still tasty I won’t ding them a star.
I honestly did not expect this place to be this good. I thought it would be a nice place to stop before a Smithson Valley game, but this will be a place our family will enjoy for a nice and casual night out.
If you have younger kids, you will LOVE the playscape area. Nice, soft, and cushioned artificial grass with multiple swings. There is also a basketball court for the older kids to enjoy.
Most evenings they also offer live music. What a great place for the whole family to hang out and enjoy some really good food!

Visited on a very busy Friday night. We sat outside at the bar and ordered food and a beers. Unfortunately — it took over 80 minutes to get out food. They did tell us it was busy so the kitchen was backed up. It would have been fine if the food wouldn’t have finally showed up stone cold. I think it would have been tasty but wasn’t great cold. Didn’t see our server then for about 20 minutes. Just want the check and get out! They did quickly give us a discount without asking which was nice. We will try them again — I hoping that was just new business pains.

Stopped in randomly on our way home from Canyon Lake. The kids absolutely loved the playground and the super soft grass. (Probably their favorite thing) The ordered process was easy and the service was excellent. To top it off the food was delicious. Try the apple dessert. When they said fried apples I was envisioning the fried apples at Cracker Barrel, but these were battered and fried. So yummy. This is a great place for families.
