The Wave Island Sports Grill & Sushi Bar

I was here for work so when I saw sushi and sports bar, I was immediately in. This was great quality sushi and I consider myself somewhat of a sushi snob. I will definitely be coming here for happy hour on my future work trips to Spokane. The sushi was delicious!

This place is ok. Came in for lunch. Kind of felt like a buffalo wild wings with Hawaiian food… lol
Sushi was good and service was soso. There was only like 3 tables with people so I think the server got complacent and absent minded due to how slow it was. When he was paying attention he was friendly and helpful.
Overall I would come back but it won’t be a regular place for me.

I am a fan of the Wave. I’ve been going since it opened. (And before it opened when it used to be Raw!) It has really good food for really good prices. The menu is huge. Something for everyone! The sushi and island dishes are amazing. They have American dishes and some breakfast dishes too, but I haven’t had a chance to try them yet. If they turn out to be as good as the sushi and island dishes then I will probably bump this to 5 stars!
The inside is a little dark for my taste. It is a big location and the noise from the sports bar sometimes echos through the whole restaurant. That being said, the sports bar is a fun place to be! $ 10 cover to watch UFC fights and you can call to make reservations. It is a good time! The service can be a bit slow, but everything I’ve had tastes fresh.
It has been a while since I’ve checked out their nightlife scene. The last time I went it was packed! The music was poppin, but there was no room to bust a move. Can’t blame them for being popular though!
The Wave is definitely worth trying! Be sure to check out their happy hour! Lots of good deals. I’ll keep coming back!

Super fresh salad but the delivery of a simple roll was very slow. Doesn’t seem too busy but again slow on the service

Very cool sports bar that serves sushi as well as a huge menu of what they call their island favorites. We only ate sushi, but will definitely try some of the island favorite choices. They also have rice and noodle bowls, sandwiches, hamburgers and even serve an all day breakfast. Unbelievable! The sushi rolls we had were great! This place is quirky in its setup and we liked it. They have private rooms with huge tv’s in them you can sit in with your buddies. Our service was good as well and I should give this a 5 based on our first experience, but I am dying to go back and will update review after truly experiencing the Wave again since we could only stay for 45 minutes on this visit. Oh BTW here is Happy hour times: Mon-​Sat: 3:30 — 5:30pm
Thurs: 10:00pm-Close
Fri-​Sat: 10:00pm-12:00pm

I love the wave! They have a great happy hour from 10pm till 12am on Friday and Saturdays (last call for kitchen orders is around 11:45pm) they also do all day happy hour for students on Sunday’s, bring student ID! The rolls are delicious and the service is great :) They have a large menu so if sushi is not your favorite food there are plenty of other options!

love this place. I love sushi and this place delivered, I ordered the firecracker and it was really good. Wasn’t extremely spicy but it did have slight heat to it. the GYOZA was really good as well and the dipping sauce that came with it was spicy i loved it. I ordered my daughter a shrimp and noodle platter and it was a huge portion considering it was during the lunch hour. I cannot complain, i loved this place and the overall atmosphere. Staff was friendly and quick with our orders.

I Love coming here! I usually get the same thing every time but whenever I try something new I’m never disappointed. I always come during happy hour because they have great prices! I love their deep fried pot stickers and I usually get the baja sushi roll! Also really like the mexi cali sushi roll and the reverse cowgirl! Sushi can be a little spendy so that’s why I love that they offer a happy hour. And not only are the sushi rolls almost half price they offer other foods as well on the happy hour menu including discounted alcoholic beverages!

Initially walked in early on a Friday evening. The host was making weird faces acting like we weren’t going to get a table, then I said the magic words of «we’ll sit at the bar.» Apparently that’s finding a piece of the Triforce from the original Zelda, so he sat us in the sushi bar (we didn’t have sushi).
I ordered the Elvis because I love PB&J and fried things. My fiancé ordered the teriyaki chicken that looked amazing. I also had a Asahi beer as well (delicious). Service was good, seating was somewhat odd since it’s in the back, right in front of the sushi bar, but overall wasn’t that big of deal.
Great place, we’d come back for sure.

Came to Spokane for a visit and was told this was the place to go. We showed up at 5pm for dinner. We had two kids with us and were told they would not be able to serve us. There was not even an option to wait. I clarified with the manager that he doesn’t mean it’s a long wait– that he actually couldn’t serve us and he confirmed. Wow. I’ve never been turned away from a restaurant before. They didn’t even turn is away with a gift card for next time.

Food was very slow to come out and it was only average. Sushi is very good. Took around 10 – 15 minutes just to get a side of rice and salsa during slow time. Come here for the environment, the nightlife and sushi but I wouldn’t recommend the normal food

I went back to this restaurant again because of its proximity to the hotel I was staying at. The greeter recognized us immediately and made sure we were seated promptly. We had the same server, who was lovely and always cheerful. I am updating this review because the service alone was very good. The fact that we were remembered is an absolute plus.

The food is usually really good, so no complaints on that. However, I work downtown and frequent this place and is seem as every time I eat here the prices have gone up yet again. This is extremely annoying. I wish they could get it together and have regular prices on their menu items.

Went to The Wave with three of my best girlfriends and we had a nice time. They have a couple of great tucked away spots where you can visit as the place can be extremely noisy – especially as it gets later. We noticed some karaōke on our way out and will have to keep that in mind for next time! For food we ordered a couple of yakisoba noodle dishes, the chicken curry and an assortment of sushi. The curry and noodles were so-​so but the sushi was good. I was impressed with the freshness and texture of the salmon (my favorite!) and the tempura fried sushi was… well DA BOMB. Do not leave without ordering some of the tempura fried sushis. We are talking some seriously good comfort food… like a sushi doughnut fresh out of the fryer. Yummy!!!

Not the best sushi in Spokane. I would save my money and go somewhere else. Not fresh fish and the smell in the bar area was unbearable. I will never go back.

The sports stuff could definitely go — but the food is delicious. They have many items on the non-​traditional/​western side, so there is something for everyone. They have a HUGE menu. I’ve never had something I did not like. I also like that they have a lot of private seating choices.
Highly recommend.

Okay I have to be honest with you, I’m not really fond of a sushi bar mixed with a sports bar at the same time. It’s a little odd and a little different but hey they are giving it a college try so what the hell?! I will say that their curry is satisfactory however just a little more soupy and graver than I expected .it could definitely use more chunks of celery and carrots along with chicken for that man meal effect! The California crab and avocado sushi was decent as well. However, if they are using real crab it’s hard to tell. You would think that a legitimate sushi place would actually use real crab rather than imitation… But what do I know I’m American! Anyways, they do have $ 2 draft beers and $ 8 pitchers on game day so does the food really matter when you’re drinking? Cheers!

This place has some awesome sushi. In fact we had to hit this place several weeks in a row for a weekly tradition! Just watch out for their sneeky 18% tips. And also if you don’t like loud karaōke then maybe avoid late nights. Some people are talented but some are definitely not … just sayin’
In a nutshell I would recommend The Wave. Good food. Great sushi. Great service.

This place was great! We got there later than most people would want to get there, but the sushi chef was very accommodating.
The food was delicious and I look forward to our next visit.

I was in Spokane for only about a month and went here 3 – 4 times and really enjoyed the atmosphere, drinks, and food.
Happy hour menu is great, Kalua pork, Kalbi ribs and much more. I had quiet a few lychee sakes, more like delicious fruity wine.
Super accommodating for parties and sake bombs ;) bouncers, servers, bartenders, and management are all really cool.
