Serenity Spa & Massage

I came here with some girlfriends for a de-​stressing pedicure and massage before taking a big grad school test. The staff person running the front desk was exceptionally rude. I am fairly prudish and was unhappy to find that the spa had booked a male massage therapist for my appointment. Generally, I have had spas ask me if I care about having a male masseuse if they plan on booking me with a man. This place did not. When I told them that I was unhappy with this, the front desk woman essentially blew me off and told me that I was only uncomfortable with it because I am ‘young’. Essentially, she made me feel really awful rather than apologizing for the miscommunication and trying to fix things. My experience was ruined and I left having spent $ 100+ to foo stressed and uncomfortable. Never go here if you are looking for a relaxing, stress-​free experience!

My girlfriends and I came here for mani/​pedis prior to a bachelorette party. Let me first start with the positives.
The atmosphere is terrific. They are very welcoming and the salon is very clean and relaxing. This was the only salon we could find that we could get all 5 of us in at the same time and allow us to bring our own drinks and snacks. We were able to all be in the same room while during the process which was nice so we could chat. They technicians were extremely friendly an conversation with them was easy.
HOWEVER, the skill/​quality of the actual manicure and pedicure was very poor. I requested a shellac French manicure (it’s what I had on before). My tech tried to do it, but it bubbled and she had to take it off and start over. I told her not to worry about it, we could just do a color. She did a color, but there were pieces of something left in my nails and there are bumps all over my nails under the polish. There was also so hand or foot massage given. This should be a given when you get a mani/​pedi ANYWHERE. One of the other girls’ nails weren’t totally dry when they let her go and her nails got all messed up, too.
So, great atmosphere, staff was nice but lacking in skill. Overall experience: Bleh. Won’t be going back.

I had a pedicure at Serenity Spa and Massage today and it was awesome! The place is nicely decorated and has a good vibe. I am looking forward to relaxing in the lounge the next time I go there. Kayla did a great job on my toes and I was inspired to try a new color! The owner is sweet and has a great vision for the business. The prices are great too! I highly recommend this Spa and I can’t wait to try other services.
