Now this is a cool place located in the Flour Mill. Ethiopian food as it should be served. No silverware, but lots of napkins and hand wipes as needed. Family style huge bowl that contains the dishes you select. Flavorful to the 10’s. I will be going back. Everything is fresh. A must try if you never experienced Ethiopian food. A must go to if you love this type of food.

This is one of the best meals I’ve had and most fun places I have been to in a while!!! I know nothing about Ethiopian food so cannot attest to how authentic it is but it tasted great and was a fun eating experience. Our group shared 3 dishes — a lamb, a beef and a poultry. All were equally delicious. They brought a small side dish of spices for those that wanted to heat up what they were eating. Another wonderful thing is the hot spiced tea. It doesn’t happen very often that while I am eating I am already planning a return visit but I was thinking about when I could come again before we left!!!

Meh. Expectations were high given the reviews. I was really looking forward to a meal that was a little more adventurous than what you normally get here in Skokaloo. The dishes were ok, but the spongey, taupe colored flatbread was gross. I would have liked the dishes much better on rice. Nice and spicy, but spendy for what is basically stew without a lot of meat. We went with a big group and tried most of the menu nothing really stood out, it all basically tasted the same. The service was friendly but slow, the tea was good. We may or may not have taken turns(girl then the boys) of popping over to Clinkerdagger for drinks, then we all went there for desserts. We all wished we had just had dinner there.

Finally made it to QoS with a group from work. It was a little hard to find because you can’t clearly see it from the street. It’s truly a hidden gem. Can’t really add too much to what has already been said. We had the vegetarian and meat dishes along with some amazing lamb. A couple of the options were a tad on the spicy side but it was a good spice, not a melt your face spice. In the end it was too much food for this group to handle. I’ll definitely be back with another group of hungry adventurers.

Amazing service and food!!! The lamb is definitely the best meat and if you’re with a group of 4 – 6, the veggie and meat platters are a must. Also, the Ethiopian coffee is made fresh and is delicious. The woman who runs the restaurant is so sweet and makes you feel very welcome. If you do end up going, it is worth it to go on an evening when you don’t have anything planned after. The service can be slow due to the nature of how they prepare the food! But it is 100% worth the wait.

I go here as often as I can. The food is very well spiced and there’s wonderful variation in the different flavors. We get the vegetarian platter which has different kinds of lentils, okra, potato/cabbage mix, and a couple of other things which are all equally good. The textures of the vegetables are always just right – never overcooked. I’ve taken a few noobs here and they’ve always had a very fine experience. Service is moderately fast – get there early if you’re headed to a concert at the Flour Mill.

This restaurant is just so darned good. I’m not an Ethiopian food connoisseur, but I’ve eaten at 3 – 4 other Ethiopian restaurants in different cities, and this one is my favorite. Whenever I visit Spokane, I try my best to make it here. I’ve been here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. For the lunch, I had the veggie sampler, which is what I usually have at other Ethiopian restaurants. The service was quick, and the food was hot and delicious, with just the right amount of spice. I believe it was the owner who served me, and she talked me into my first Ethiopian coffee, which was out of this world — or at least out of this continent. Tonight I ate at Queen of Sheba for dinner. Again, the service was fast and friendly. Since the dinner portion of the veggie sampler is intended for two and I went alone, the nice server talked to me about some options that weren’t expressly written on the menu. Basically, we formed my own custom veggie sampler. It was fantastic again. The owner spotted me and mentioned seeing me there before, even though it was only once and it was probably 4 – 6 months ago. Very friendly, very delicious, and reasonably priced for such tasty food in a great location. I can’t wait to go back.

My family and I were finally able to try Ethiopian food. We had wanted to give this a try and finally made it in. When we go out for dinner, 8 is the most common choice of time. This restaurant closes at 8 so we haven’t been able to make it, until last night. Foods was good and the owner was very nice.

Terrific! Always visit this place when in Spokane! Some of the best Ethiopian ever! Can’t wait to go back. Suggestion, try the rosemary beef, 26 I think. The vegetable plate also very good. Worth a trip!

So I had been wanting to try this place for awhile. A long time… I really wanted to like it and have a great experience. I am all for trying food from different cultures, not picky at all and very open minded… My friend and I split two(very small) dishes served on flat bread, and it cost us about $ 55. $ 55?! Prices are steep… «$$»?? Yeah, right. This place is expensive. If I thought it was as good as everyone else seems to think it is, I would not have minded. I had the tea and i LOVED it… That was my favorite part about this place. Service was good… The owner(?) was quite friendly. Here’s the bad part: So we leave… I get home and I am SICK… my stomach is in knots and I had to run to the toilet practically. No. No. No. The food did look like baby shit… ITGAVEMETHERUNS. Judging by everyone else’s excellent reviews, I dunno… I guess I got dealt a shitty hand or something. Literally. because everyone else has great things to say about this place. I guess go see for yourself. Maybe your experience will be different. I hope it is…

My food-adventuring family recently enjoyed a delicious Ethiopian meal. The flat bread, called injera, was soft, moist, spongy, and served its purpose for wrapping up the delicious lentil, vegetable, and meat sides. The exotic spice blends wafted from the large platter to your palate, lifting you to far-away lands. All of the food was delicious, and like my daughter mentioned«it’s sad when your stomach gets full». The owner, Almaz, greeted all of her guests with a welcoming smile that was as warm and joyous as her food. I’m looking forward to our next food adventure at Queen of Sheba Ethiopian Cuisine.

Four of us drove down from Canada yesterday specifically to try Ethiopian food for the first time. What a treat! Appreciated the heritage surroundings of the old Flour Mill building. Started with beef sambussas; awesome tasty treats. Then shared the veggie and the meat platters, with two extra veggie dishes added to the mix. Simply put, this was an awesome meal! Fell in love with the various flavours. The extra collard greens dish we added was outstanding, and the chicken and beef dishes really popped; spicy but not overpowering. I cannot wait to try this cuisine again!

If you are in Spokane for a few days, it is worth eating here(if you do not have an Ethiopian restaurant in your home town). For locals, you really should consider trying this place. We found everything good, but were waited on by two different people. The first seems to be the owner & she seemed to forget about us at times. The other was a younger woman, who was preparing to attend university. She was very attentive and explained more about the food we were enjoying. I only wish that this place wasn’t «off the beaten path» and we did not have to worry about validating parking. Still, I am glad we went.

Great food, friendly service and overall awesome experience! We started with the sweet potato fries, which were delicious. For the entrée I shared the vegetarian combo and side of collard greens with my 16 year old son. Everything was amazing and there was so much food, we took home leftovers with an extra side of injera. This may be my new favorite vegan-friendly restaurant in Spokane.

I LOVE Queen of Sheba. I have been coming here for years and the food is still excellent. I like the get the veggie sample plate and add meat entrees to it. The sambusas are super good. However, I think my favorite is the Yebeg Kay We’T. I love the combo platters because it is served on a large piece of injera, with rolls of injera on the side to rip and eat up all the spicy delicious food. The flavors are so powerful and tasty. The service is also excellent. The owner is so sweet! There are fun little games to play on the tables. Definitely try the tea! It is hard to explain from an American based tea. It is spiced and so good! This food is so good it is hard to stop eating it. I was so full last time I was there, but I definitely did not want to stop. I recommend going for lunch and follow it up with a walk and afternoon nap!

Our first time tonight and it was amazing. Very friendly welcome when we came in and everything was quickly explained when we sat down. To my great joy, every table has a mancala board! We had looked at the menu ahead of time and read the reviews. We got both the vegetarian and the meat combinations for three people. Everything was spiced and seasoned so well! The spicier dishes have a slow burn to them. Plenty of food for three hungry people and I noe happily have a to go box. We are excited to come back and try the lamb. Get the spiced ice tea! Highly recommend!

Best food ever! Excellent customer service! Our server was very attentive and kind. Fantastic for vegan, vegetarians and those with Celiac disease. It’s communal(family style) dishes, so it’s great for dates as well! The food was nothing short of amazing.
