For my wife’s birthday I surprised her with a horse ride. Jeanne took us on a great trip, bringing back great memories for Kristi and making new ones for our kids Justin and Wyatt. Great time!

I had a friend visiting Texas for the first time so I decided to take her riding. We had a such a great day with Smock and Thunder. It was NOT a typical guided trail. Once we got through the park, there was an open field where we got to ride around and take pictures. We both used to ride, so we liked the freedom we had with the horses to move at our own pace. I would definitely recommend Silver’s Trails, and I hope to be back soon! *Bring a water bottle and a camera!

Awesome time. They were so sweet and patient with my daughter. We had the last ride of the day so we paid for 30 minutes and got about an hour ride. The horse I was rode was a little ornery buy manageable. We will definitely go back.

So far, my favorite trail riding experience in the Austin area. By far the best scenery. Hands down the most relaxed atmosphere. Smock and Swift were awesome, and our trail guide was very friendly. The trails we went on ended at the Colorado River(what is left of it anyway with this drought) which was absolutely gorgeous! The terrain was full of hills and gullies which were an awesome riding experience. Don’t feel like you are lost… GPS really does send you to the correct place! Also, bring your swim suit as Krause Springs is really close by and a great way to cool off afterwards!

We had scheduled a trail ride with Lynda that we were very much looking forward to. However, she never showed up! Our phone calls went unanswered and unreturned, and there was no follow-up explanation. Very disappointing.

This isn’t your typical nose to tail horse ride. My group opted for the 6 mile river ride which lasted about 2 – 3 hours. Our guide, Jeanne, was friendly and informative. She allowed us to walk the horses side by side and choose the pace of the ride. As far as experience, my friend and I are experienced riders and my boyfriend is a beginner. Jeanne stayed back with my boyfriend and allowed us to go faster. Once we got to the river there was a large amount of open space, which was great for cantering and galloping. My boyfriend even got a chance to go for a gallop. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for more than just your average trail ride.

I took my girlfriend as a birthday present and she said ti was the best birthday she’d ever had. The views are beautiful and the horses are very nice and well trained. I am not very experienced, but Lynda made me feel at ease and safe and lets you go at your own pace. If you want to go on a trail ride in Central Texas I can not recommend this place more highly.

Lynda gave us a great horseback riding experience! Before we arrived, we chatted about experience levels and our heights and weights so the proper horse could be set up for us. Having more experience than my friend, I was placed with Smock, and my friend was on Sailor. Lynda demonstrated how easy it was to control her well-disciplined horses using a couple techniques that they knew VERY well. After our short chat, we were off to Grelle Recreation Area. On our mile ride to the park, Lynda encouraged me to go ahead of them and trot with Smock while she gave some one-on-one tips to my friend. While in the park, we did not have to stay in a line formation and she encouraged me again to go ahead of them. In no time at all, Smock and I were running down Grelle’s dirt paths! With Lynda and my friend still in view, I could see how she was making her feel more confident with her riding, trotting, and galloping. We stopped for pictures and to give the horses the apples we brought for them. The ride was approximately 2.5 hours, 8 miles, and $ 100. We both left Silver’s Trails with HUGE smiles on our faces and our confidence levels boosted! Will definitely be returning next month! Thanks Lynda, Smock, and Sailor!

Absolutely made my Austin experience 5-stars. If you want a customized and real experience out of the city, then go here. My girlfriend & I wanted a day away from the stuffy golf resort, and boy did we get it. Though only abt 20 minutes outside of Austin, it felt as though we were out in the great wide-open. I’m only an amateur horseman, but after just 3 – 4 hours today, I felt years worth of comfort around the horses and outdoors. Lynda is a real, authentic, personablee, and gracious host. We both almost felt like part of her family before we left. And her horses are incredible as well. I rode Pirate, the largest of her stock, and he was both a gentleman and a stud, all-in-one. The views were exceptional, and the stewardship was first-class. If you’re debating whether to make the journey, take action and DOIT! I love Louisiana, but Texas make one heckuva impression. Luke

Amazing experience! I rode with Lynda on the River Ride and I was the only one with her on the ride, so it just felt like a nice hack through fields and parks with a friend! Definitely not the typical trail rides where you just walk and MAYBE trot and walk single file. No, you actually get to REALLY ride on a very well trained and well behaved horse! Being an experienced rider, I thoroughly appreciated this experience! I traveled all the way from Chicago, where we don’t have these kind of rides, and I would love to come back and ride again! My only regret is that I didn’t get to bring any treats of my own for the horses =(I even took video while running on the trails — which will be one I’ll watch again and again to remember my ride on a spunky old horse named Swift. =) Just remember, she only does the trails for ages 17+!!

Wow. Definitely in my top 5 best memories now. I’ll try to not get sentimental here. First of all, Lynda is an absolutely incredible teacher, and I’ll tell you why: She gives you a TON of responsibility and has a very high bar of expectation of you. If you do something wrong, she’s very gentle and makes sure you do it again, but the right way. She’s a great leader and I felt calm every step of the way even though i’ve only ridden a horse twice before(english style, very old slow horses. only walked on over-priced trails). Now in my hour-long intro lesson Lynda taught me to communicate with my horse(Who was incredibly calm and well trained), how to trot, how to make very acute maneuvers, make a small jump over a beam and pass a ball between me and my friend. I had never been given so much freedom with a horse before. THEN: we went on the long trail ride. She brought us over all kinds of terrain that the horses are very good at handling, then she taught us how to gallop with the horse into an open prairie overlooking a river. I have to say, the moment the horse started galloping, i started to cry tears of joy. It was one of the most exhilarating feelings I’ve ever had. If you can go, please go see this woman. This is a BEYONDSPECIAL experience.

Came here with the boyfriend and it was honestly the best ride of my life. Lynda(the owner) called us the night before our ride to figure out what horses would be best suited for us based on our experience. She gave very detailed directions to the ranch also. We got there around ten and brought some carrots and apples for the horses. Trail was great! Very well trained horses and man were they fast! I’d recommend this place to anyone. Horses great, tour guide great, and cost was fair

Dear Pirate, You were the best ride of my life! Do ya wanna get married? Circle yes or no. Love Catherine That pretty much sums up my experience here. It was the last day of summer and I called a family day. For those of you who have teenagers you may know that it takes planning to get your teenager to do anything with you. I called a few places around Austin to check on setting something up kinda late in the game. Unlike a lot of other places Lynda answered her phone. Lynda told me she had good horses. She wasn’t kidding. She has great horses. We booked a really lovely ride to the lake that was about 2.5 hours. When we drove up I noticed she had about 8 horses, one more beautiful then the others. She immediately got my son busy feeding horses and getting them ready. I loved that she put him to work and got him involved. She picked two horses for my son and fiancé. I asked, which one do I get and she pointed to Pirate. YOUMEANTHEREALLYTALLGORGEOUSTHOROUGHBRED? Yep, she did. This horse was not only beautiful, but as I stated earlier the best ride of my life. Part or the ride was down a country road then into an equestrian park which takes you to a part of Lake Travis. Its not your typical nose to tail ride. Our guide was actually her daughter Jeane. If you ask Jeane nicely she might just show you one of her stunts, like standing on her horse. Jeane rides bareback and barefoot. I truly recommend this for anyone looking for a unique riding experience. Lynda has great horses.
