A wonderful 14-mile(or so) loop with a few great overlooks — including one with some great rocks on which to sit and eat lunch — and several stream crossings. There are a few steep sections and it’s a _long_hike, but it’s not technically challenging. Most of the way is on narrow, well-shaded trails. And be aware: there could be bears. (And I apologize. I can’t quite get the map to function correctly. The trailhead for this hike is actually north and east of downtown Sperryville, in the Shenandoah National Park. The coordinates given on Hiking Upward are: 38.69308 –78.2739001.)
