Came here on a free Monday morning and got exactly what we were looking for. A no-fuss, down-home diner experience with lots of hot coffee and value. Eggs Benedict IS what going out for breakfast means to me because seriously… who has time to make Hollandaise sauce? I do not have a double boiler. There’s was sooo good. The English muffin was perfectly toasted, the eggs were perfectly poached, the ham wasn’t like, leathery or anything– and it came with a heaping helping of seasoned home fries. Our waitress was friendly and efficient and the food came out in short order. I really liked this place! We will be coming back… and I will probably clean my plate. Again.

Some colleagues brought me here on our lunch break knowing we could get in and out quickly. They were right. We were seated immediately and the staff was friendly and efficient. Our waitress even split up the bill for us without needing to ask. They have a large menu and a nice selection of specals. The food was average — not bad, nothing amazing. If you’re looking for a quick sit-down lunch, ths may fit your needs.

This place should be condemned to eternal vacancy for it’s «I think it can get away with giving you all food poisoning with my meat selections» attitude. If you decide to eat here, don’t ever order any meat or poultry at all!

I stopped here for a late breakfast today, around noontime. There was a good crowd, but I was seated & served quickly. I ordered coffee and eggs Benedict with home fries, and they came out very fast. Eggs were cooked perfectly, and the Hollandaise sauce was very tasty. The waitress was very friendly. For the price of $ 7.99, it was a bargain. I will definitely stop in again next time I’m in the area.

Looking for a new place for breakfast we decided to drive 17 miles and try Slaytons Place. The restaurant was bright, clean and full of diners, all good signs. Service was quick and friendly. We ordered two of the specials of the day. My wife had the quiche and I ordered the blueberry pancakes. The quiche arrived dry and crumbly certainly not made recently. The pancakes were dry and leathery, certainly made ahead of time. They arrived with a dollop of margarine and maple flavored karo syrup. The coffee? Well lets just say you would not go there for the coffee. We should have known when we looked at the menu online. Have you ever eaten at a restaurant with hundreds of items on its menu and thought I’ll return here soon?

My wife and I went to Slayton Place for breakfast. The restaurant was clean and had a good crowd. We were there years ago but it look different when I walked in. My wife told me that it was flooded few years back and it was remodeled. Apparently the flood caused a lot of damage. My wife had an omelette and I had French toast, bacon, eggs and toast. I really didn’t like the taste of the French toast. I don’t know if it was the cinnamon they put on it. It tasted different. They were always coming around asking if you wanted a refill on your coffee. Having refills on my coffee is a must. On a scale from 1 to 10 I’d give my breakfast a 6. We most likely will not be visiting this restaurant again.

I’ve eaten breakfast here several times and always felt that it was decent. Not great, not bad… just decent. In fairness to the restaurant I never really challenged them. I am not disappointed, just not thrilled either but I come back. See photos of my omelettes. Cut to today when I finally ate lunch here. Pleasantly surprised. I got the steak sandwich and you know, it was nicely put together with care and skill. It is grilled steak with provolone cheese, grilled onion and peppers on the grilled french roll. I had them add jalapeños to give it a little kick. Yummy. It was served hot and delicious. I think I need to try a few other lunch items. See photos.

Alright, I was a bit harsh on the last review because of the food poisoning incident, but Kristin wanted to eat at Slayton Place last month so I gave it another shot and ordered the chicken tender basket. I prayed for some change because the waitress was very friendly and attentive even though there was no one at the entrance when we walked in. It only took about fifteen minutes for the food to et out but even when I bit into the chicken, it tasted a bit cold which was such a shame because they did taste great. The French fries were fantastic as always but it’s still no excuse for a poorly executed main dish. Kristin had better look with her breakfast dish which I was a bit jealous of, but I can’t complain because this is more of a breakfast place then a lunch or dinner location. I may have not mentioned this before, but inside it’s VERY casual with booths and tables all on carpet if I can recall with one lone television on the large window. They have a full eating area in the back but I don’t see them use that often, or if they use at all. The gumball machines I don’t think were ever changed because inside of them looks to be a bit green and icky. The food was on the cheap side, but I really wanted to experience something at least good here but again I got another mediocre dish despite it being nowhere bad as the last one. I’m giving this one more chance in the coming days, but only for breakfast, never again for lunch or dinner, NEVERAGAIN!

Visited for lunch last weekend and enjoyed our meal. Minimalistic dining room was spacious and plenty of booths and tables. Mixed crowd of suburbanites. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Food came out very quick, it was a sandwich and a club. The turkey club was pretty good. Large portion was nice with real turkey and fresh components. Wouldn’t mind trying it again, they just need a few original dishes beside a «fried banana» dessert.

My family visits Brockport every summer and we make sure that we stop at Slayton Place! We have had breakfast, lunch and dinner there and I must say we have enjoyed every meal we have ever had! We have two children that can be picky! They love the food! And the atmosphere is great. Even though we are from out of town, they make us feel just at home! We will continue to stop and eat there every year when we visit!

This was our first trip to Slayton Place, but it won’t be our last. There were numerous regulars, which I think is a good sign. The service was excellent and the coffee fresh, hot and plentiful. My eggs were perfectly prepared, which isn’t usual because I like the yolks runny and the whites cooked through. My husband loved his omelette. The menu has some interesting items for lunch and dinner too, so we’ll be back soon.

My wife and I were looking for a new place for breakfast. We decided to give Slayton Place a try. We’re very happy we did. The place is clean and roomy. Our server was pleasant and attentive. Our coffee was fresh and plentiful. Being an omelette lover, I ordered the Western Omelette. GOODCHOICE! The eggs were cooked perfectly, the vegetables were fresh and crisp, and the cheese melted just right. My wife ordered the Hash and Eggs, and said they were prepared just right. This may have been our first visit, but won’t be our last. The menu has a lot of interesting looking offerings for lunch and dinner too. We’re looking forward to trying some of those also.

Not sure why Slayton Place has received lukewarm reviews on here. It is of the better diners in the area. On some Sundays they have a Buffalo Chicken Omelette Special that is one of the best breakfast dishes I’ve had. My wife sticks with the standard fare and she hasn’t been disappointed yet. As for their prices, they’re comparable to other diners.

Decent family style diner restaurant with a nice selection of breakfast options. Well lit and clean, we found the place worthy of return for quick, inexpensive and basic fare. Service was fine for us. I just wish some of These places would wise up and offer real maple syrup, especially when they go thru the trouble of concocting tempting pancake specials. Why bother of you’re going to cover it in faux maple flavored high fructose corn syrup?

This diner is nothing special. I guess you can’t complain tooo much because it is in Spencerport. It seems more expensive for diner food but I always have leftovers if I order something for lunch or dinner. The best thing about it is that it is very consistent, and your food is always the same each time, the wait staff is always the same… the old people that go there every morning are the same ordering the same thing haha. Typical diner menu and food. The French fries that are served with sandwiches are really good. I normally stop in on a Friday to get a fish fry. It closes pretty early.

Classic diner. Breakfast is good, I have not been for anything else. The hash browns were just ok, a little mushy, but I like them crispier. Waitresses are all very nice and help each other out. Good diner but nothing special. I will go back, but wont make a special trip for it.

I’ve had breakfast here a couple times, solid service and food on both visits. My first meal was, at it usually is, Eggs Benedict($ 8-ish). Decent, nothing phenomenal, but if I was craving it this place wouldn’t disappoint. In other words, while I won’t crave Slayton Place Eggs Benedict, should I be in the mood for the dish, I wouldn’t shy away from ordering it here. My most recent breakfast was the classic pancakes, eggs, and sausage($ 6-ish). I opted for the sausage links in leu of patties, they were very thick with classic flavor. The eggs(over easy) were prepared exactly as ordered. The pancakes were not too thick and just the right balance of fluffy to moist. When covered in syrup, they soaked it up without being soggy. The service was very friendly, the servers seem to help out each other’s tables. It was a Sunday morning and rather busy, we didn’t have to wait for a table but there weren’t many empty ones left. The dining room is clean but I wouldn’t eat off the floor… It’s a well trafficked place. Maybe I’d be more critical if I was expecting a fancy brunch, but this is a diner. Order a diner breakfast and you won’t be disappointed.

Not too many surprises here. Typical 1950s diner food with a predictable menu: burgers, salads, sandwiches, soups, etc. Food was just okay(large portions though… reminds me of that great line in Woody Allen’s, Annie Hall.) Service was not attentive or particularly friendly. On the way out we tried to pay our bill and could not find anyone at the front register or even on the restaurant floor.
