Big Lots

Wow! What a difference from the old 30^th Street store this location replaced. Most have been into a Big Lots but keep in mind the old store was very small, old and run down. In its prior life this location was a Marsh grocery. The area is bright, well lite, wide isles and now we have a freezer/​fridge unit for dairy products, frozen foods and ice cream. Doesn’t sound like a big thing but in my life we enjoy the option to grab Mexican ice cream bars, milk, cheese and an occasional frozen entrée while shopping.
As you would guess with a larger store comes more selections and larger quantity of product on the floor. The grocery section has doubled, if not tripled, from the old location. The furniture department is close to the size of the old store with furniture adequately spaced. As mentioned previously each department is larger and well stocked, organized and clean.
The Avon store offered all of this before this location but those of us who frequent the old location now appreciate the layout, larger selection and not feeling claustrophobic on crowded and narrow isles. The long cashier lines can still be an issue depending on time and day of week. Let’s hope this is resolved quickly. Staffing is hit or miss on helpfulness and friendliness; never rude just distance while others are terrific.
The location isn’t as convenient for me as the old location but well worth the short drive for the new larger and improved store.
