Very good fish & chips. Great beer selection. Atmosphere is perfect for a South Carolina Irish Bar.

Come here often when I visit Spartanburg for work. Not many places have Magners on tap. They do! Service is fast even when busy. Bartenders are very cool and quick. Came here for $ 2 pint night on Wednesdays, great night out if you don’t mind college kids in a college town. Make sure you don’t get the bell rung after you pay. You will find out real fast what that means! I’ll be here every time I’m in town!

Nice atmosphere, good beer selection. I really enjoyed the Murphys stout and the bangers and mash. Followed it all up with an Irish coffee. I will be back.

Decent drinks with an almost decent vibe. The music there varies from interesting to kinda painful… Too crowded for my taste and what is it about people bringing their children into a pub at 8:30pm? Something about it doesn’t seem right in my opinion but who am I to judge?

One of the most underrated lunch spots in downtown. They have a great lunch menu with meat and veggies type of selection. Those that are skeptical, walk in and try it, you might get hooked and make this spot a regular lunch stop like we did.

Really love the wings and sweet potato waffle fries. There’s almost always a band at this place! choose somewhere else if you’re in a hurry because it can be slow if busy

Not sure about those who say they don’t have good service, but they must have made some changes to the wait staff. Our server was attentive. My wife and I shared a meal and dessert they brought both out already split! Who does that? I haven’t been to a restaurant that did that for us in a long time. It really was a nice relaxing atmosphere and experience. The steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection. They have a large variety of beers on tap as well.

Love the fish and chips! Reuben is always great as well. Nice lunch atmosphere, gets crowded and loud at night toward the end of the week. One of my favorite spots downtown.

Must be a college trash magnet buried under this place.

The food was good. I had the house meatloaf and it was hot and had good flavor. Green beans were canned but tasted good and hot. The service was good and overall I would come back to this place to try the Shepherds Pie. Check it out!

So I had a beer and their irish whiskey steak(med rare) with green beans and mashed potatoes. The was good not great but very good. The sides were very good too. Bartender was a really nice guy that made you feel welcomed. My only dislike was the beer wasn’t that cold. But I would go back and recommend to friends.

Had to sit at a dirty table waiting for service(10 mins or more), the female bartender was unbelievably rude to me when I went to the bar, we had to wait long periods of time to order/reorder our drinks and then wait again for the drinks to come.
If you are interested in the details, read on. Went in with my girlfriend last night(Sat 22nd Feb) around 8. The only open booth still had the glasses and silverware from the previous customer. We sat there for 10 minutes while the waitress for another section walked by us and chatted with her customer. Finally, the male bartender walked by and I had to stop him and ask him for a server. He took up the dirty dishes and went off. While waiting for the server to show up, I went to the bar to look at the beer choices. When I got back to my table, still no server. She eventually came and we ordered drinks. We didn’t like one of the drinks but our server didn’t come back so I went to the bar to order a different one. I was the only one at the bar and was basically ignored by the female bartender. When she finally looked up at me she just stood there looking at me. I raised my hands to say«so what are you doing» and to my surprise, she did the same thing back to me. Unbelievable that an employee would treat a customer like that. I ordered the drink and eventually she brought it to the table, set it down and as I was thanking her she turned her back on me and walked away. It was clear by the way she acted that she didn’t want to be delivering a drink to my table. The rest of the evening was waiting for our server to come back, get our order and waiting for our drinks to show up. It’s basically a nice place with a decent menu but the wait staff is obviously immature individuals with a definite«attitude» and disrespect for the customer.

Been here at least a dozen times over the past year and haven’t been let down yet. Food is really good, affordable, and delicious, the Beer is cold, the draft selection is great(about 30 beers on tap and dozens in bottles), wed is $ 2 pint night, and they also have a good selection of brown liquor.

I can’t believe I’ve not visited this Pub before now! We went early on a quiet, slightly rainy Friday night, was greeted at the door and shown to a table quickly. Our pints arrived in a timely fashion, properly poured and as I’m rather picky about my Guinness this is important to me. The menu was uninspired to say the least, typical pseudo-Irish pub grub so I wasn’t surprised by the lack of imagination but I was surprised at how good the food was. I had fish & chips thinking it’s pretty hard to screw that up unless of course you’re at the Pig and Whistle English Pub in Cocoa Beach FL! Very generous portions, the fish was excellent, the beer batter was light and didn’t overpower the delicate flavor of the fish. My husband had the bangers and mash which he asked me to try for a comparison to the bangers and mash sampler I had at Meg O’Malley’s… I hate to say this but Delaney’s bangers were more authentic in their flavor profile than Meg O’Malley’s. My only complaint is our server asked my husband if he would like another pint and he declined to which she promptly turned around and walked off… she never asked me if I would like another… and yes I would have.

I really like Delaney’s! I like it way more since they have done some remodeling and since you can’t smoke in there anymore! We used to go on pint night when all the«college kids» were there — extremely crowded and completely smoke filled. Luckily the restaurants in Spartanburg are smoke free now so you don’t have to worry about that. But the food is good, beer is good, service is usually pretty good.

Family and I had lunch here while apartment hunting, as my dad is a fan of anything Irish and my mom wanted to catch the OSU basketball game. Delaney’s is located in downtown Spartanburg, which is really cute and appealing for a small city. The inside is typical Irish décor but it was clean, nicely lit, and was not too busy so not noisy. I ordered a pale ale but can’t remember which, but it was good. Both my mom and I ordered their version of the french dip, which came out somewhat slow but still tasted good. Ended up only eating half the sandwich and fries. As I’ll be working in Spartanburg, it’s likely I’ll stop by again.

The shame of it all that is that the location, building, and the beer were good. The downside is that the bartender we had was dishonest. My girlfriend and I each had two beers at the bar, and we paid for each round of drinks as they were served. We did not run a tab, but when I ordered another beer for myself, the red headed male bartender said I need to pay my tab. He insulted us, and basically made an ass of himself. There are no tabs at this bar without a credit card, which is why I know I paid him for each round. Sad to see a local bar from my hometown employ such dishonest people. We will not be back. Don’t waste your time here unless you are an underage college student.
