Small place but the food is amazing. Enjoyed jerk chicken, yellow rice and black beans. My husband had the Cuba sandwich… everything was great. Owner made sure we were satisfied and happy.

Tried the midnight sandwich and casava and it was pretty tasty. The meat was nice and thick versus shaved thinly. The casava chips were excellent. Would definitley go back and try some of the other dishes now such has the jerk or spicy pork platters.

I was in town for just one night and decided to choose a top rated place from Unilocal. This place was great! I had the jerk chicken with yellow rice, black beans, plantains, and flan. The food smelled amazing and it tasted even better! The owner was very nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place.

We had seen this place, and had wanted to go for a while. We finally made it for dinner, and we’re ashamed that we hadn’t gone sooner. The restaurant was small, which could give it a nice atmosphere, but when busy, it can be a hindrance. The tables are simple lawn tables, which together with the umbrellas hanging from the ceiling, is supposed to give it a café feel. The menu is very simple offering a handful of sandwiches. Make sure to look at the specials on the wall. I had ordered a sandwich, and was very pleased with it. My wife had ordered the special, barbacoa with a tamale and rice and black beans. I tasted the barbacoa, and liked the taste. My wife loved the entire meal. She was ready to order 3 tamales to go! Afterwards we usually don’t order dessert, but we did today. We ordered tarta with ice cream topped with mango. The tarta came to us warm, and tasted very good with the ice cream. We loved the food and do plan on going back.

This place was incredible. I’m from Florida and I’ve been searching for a Cuban place since I got here four years ago and I’ve had no luck until this place. The owner is marvelous. Extremely welcoming and friendly. We felt like family. I will definitely be returning. Food is amazing, as well as the prices. Two thumbs up. Highly recommend it.

Discovered this place when I lived in the area. Great food, loved the outdoor dining, owner is very friendly. I don’t live there anymore, but suggest it to all those in the area or willing to travel there – live in Greenville now and it’s on the east side of sburg. I’ve had there Cuban sandwich many times, coffee, and mango smoothie. All wonderful. Always stop in if I’m in the area. Try them if u live nearby. Sit on the patio if it’s nice.

This place has delicious Cuban food! The jerk chicken or pico de gallo with black beans, yellow rice, and corn guiso are savory dishes. The service is top notch, the price is perfect and the owner is really nice. Very intimate and small atmosphere inside and nice patio seating outside. Most dishes are gluten free and soy free friendly!

Best Cuban food in Spartanburg hands down! The owner is very nice and has a very good story to tell if you ask him what made him open a restaurant. He makes the best Cuban milkshakes(batidos). Definitely recommend trying the mango flavor.

Best Cuban food I’ve had outside of Tampa. Stopped for dinner based upon other reviews and loved it. The Cuban sandwich and black beans with rice were outstanding. My wife loved the pork mojo with plantains and a Cuban tamale. The mango tarta made for a nice dessert. Prices were right and the owner and waitress were very friendly. I would be a regular if I lived in Spartanburg; it is well worth the stop.

We love this place. In addition to the sandwiches offered on their printed menu, you can order a specials plate with your choice of one meat and three sides. I believe the meats and sides change regularly, but they’ve had Beef, Pork, Chicken, Fish, etc. for meats and Yucca, Plantains, Yellow/White Rice, Black/Red Beans, etc. for sides. Ask the staff for suggestions if you’re not sure what to get. They set us up with the Pork Mojo, Yellow Rice, Black Beans, and Yucca and we would recommend that to anyone with taste buds. It’s really really good. Their cubans are made with real cuban bread and they’re also quite tasty. The place itself doesn’t look all that cute or charming from the road, but their back patio is very nice and will make you question whether or not you’re still in Spartanburg.

Heard a number of people suggest this place. A simple décor, but very clean. The smells from the kitchen really got us excited when we walked in the door. I ordered spicy pulled pork with black beans and rice. It was excellent. I will most certainly be back! Also should mention, the owner Gaston seems very passionate about his food and is very welcoming and freindly. He helped us navigate the menu and made us want to order one of everything. Lots of options to try on my next visit. Heads up: This place is easy to miss when driving by, so gotta keep your eyes out.

every time i passed by this place ive been so curious to try their food. i saw the reviews on Unilocal and jumped to go there with my dad. Walked in to a little room. with a few tables. a bigger room to the left. we took a seat in what looked like it was an old living room with a chimney inside. they used patio tables and chairs in their indoor seating are. umbrellas in the ceiling, a big piece of cloth on the wall. the menu had very limited variety a few sandwiches(some of the stuff i wasn’t sure what it was) the waitress was good and helpful the food was Less than OK. their ruben sandwich was bland, and greasy.(comes with chips) needless to say i satisfied my curiosity and will not think of going back. i was really going in expecting to become a regular, but ended up leaving very disappointed

Home of the best Cuban sandwich in the upstate! Aka«The Cuban Café» has authentic Cuban cuisine at very affordable prices. I’m a Tampa native and know how this food is supposed to taste. This is it!
