James M. ‘s review of this store seems extremely biased. -«It starts with the fact that this is a very dirty store… Why the health inspector overlooks this place, I have no idea.» –My response: The owners of this store actually are constantly renovating and cleaning the store. While there may be some faults to the store, it’s nothing that I haven’t seen in say, a Denny’s. In fact, Denny’s is in worse condition: There’s a leak in the ceiling of the kitchen. Yikes. -«The parking lot is horrible« –My response: While I agree that the parking lot is terrible, it’s not the owner’s fault that you got rear ended by someone in the parking lot. There’s plenty of other places with similar parking where you didn’t get rear ended in. -«The people that work here are very rude and unwilling to help you if you aren’t Asian. I noticed a friendly smile to all of the oriental customers but if I had a question they seemed put off and the smile went away. I asked what kind of sandwich this was and the Asian ladies response in a very sarcastic tone, «Uh, it’s a sandwich!»» –My response: Keep in mind that it’s an ASIAN store run by ASIANS. Some of whom know very limited amount of English. Especially if the lady you spoke to was middle aged. They try their best to help when possible, but it’s frustrating not being able to speak and understand English fluently. Their reactions were most likely them trying to focus on what an even decent reply would be. If you need help and only speak English, I recommend speaking to the younger Employees. This can be insured by coming later on in the day.

I have been to 7 Moon several times and always find what I need. The staff is helpful and they have great candies and trinkets for my grandchildren.

I shall enumerate the problems this place has. It starts with the fact that this is a very dirty store. I should remind you that this is supposed to be a grocery store. They sell food, you know the kind you eat, and this place is very nasty. There is dirt on the floor and every single ceiling tile has water damage so you know there is mold somewhere in this store. Why the health inspector overlooks this place, I have no idea. The parking lot is horrible. While I was there someone backed into my car. There is a sign taking up a huge chunk of the parking lot and most of the doors to get into this place are locked. The people that work here are very rude and unwilling to help you if you aren’t Asian. I noticed a friendly smile to all of the oriental customers but if I had a question they seemed put off and the smile went away. I asked what kind of sandwich this was and the Asian ladies response in a very sarcastic tone, «Uh, it’s a sandwich!» It looks like they are in decline and judging by their attitude towards non-asians and dirty store with very old food that probably spent several months on a boat coming across the ocean then another several months stuck at the port waiting on customs to inspect it. These xenophobic morons can wallow in their on stupidity. I look forward to their future decline and downsizing of their crappy Asian market.

This place makes the best Tom Yum soup in town. And don’t miss out on the chicken satays, either.

This is a Cambodian owned Asian market that has almost everything you need to cook your Asian foods. Compared to some of the other Asian markets around town Moon is quite big. It also has a restaurant inside but I have never eaten there or seen anyone eat there. They don’t have much fresh products or vegetables but you can pretty much find all the spices, seasonings, and frozen goods you expect at other Asian markets. Being from San Diego, CA I am used to the larger Asian markets that is a one-stop-shop for all of your needs., in Spartanburg I come here for most of what I need but I get the fresh foods at other places.

I was told this place was 12,000 square feet. I was super disappointed. I suppose I don’t know how small 12,000 square feet really is and that this place is pretty sparse. They don’t have too much fresh food. Everything I found here can be found cramped in smaller grocery stores. I wouldn’t suggest it. I peeked at the little restaurant there and was also disappointed by such a mix of strange dishes. No one looked they were eating there. It was more of a hang out. Let me be clear though, this is bigger than other Asian grocery stores and subsequently, should deserve a bit of praise for having become somewhat of a gathering place for a few of the Asian people in Spartanburg.
