We were here last Dec.26,2015. Quite decent place, food just fine. What i dislike was the lady overcharge our bill. We were only three(husband, me, son) It’s $ 5.99 per meal(2 entrees + rice). We only ordered 2 of thAt $ 5.99(5.99×2= $ 11.98) and 2 cans of coconut juice($ 2.50×2 = $ 5.00) plus 1 extra rice(i didn’t ask how much — assuming $ 2.00)===total of $ 18.98 plus tax. Lets just say $ 3.00 for the tax so it makes only $ 21.98. This lady charge our card for $ 26.73. I don’t really care how much but the thing thAt she tried to fool/overcharge us is not acceptable. Hopefully she just mixed up with the bill. One more thing, the receipt has no breakdowns. You can see only the total cost of the food you eat. Do not go here/dine here. i will Never recommend this filipino Small eatery. Charge from My card was uploaded here.

Got the Adobo and Sisig. Both were pretty good. The Adobo was sweet, different from how I would make it but still yummy. The Sisig had a little too much onion but so far the best Sisig I’ve tried in Reno/Sparks. The owners/servers were really nice and welcoming.

Will definitely come back. Food was okay but for the price and the friendliness of the staff, it deserves a 5 star! You can’t beat the $ 5.99 with 2 entreés and a scoopful of rice! Love from SF!!!

This place has good food, service and the cooks. Seating on the other hand is a first come first serve so it can be tough at times when they are busy but worth the wait. Thanks for a great first time visit experience, we will be returning.

700th review. WOW. I didn’t think I’d last this long writing Unilocal reviews. I was going to save it for another Elite event but I got waitlisted so oh well: P I picked Silong for my 700th review against my better judgment because I’m not sure I want to share this place with others. I almost want to write the review in Tagalog, haha! I’m curious to see how Google would translate all that but really, all you need to know is it’s «legit turo-turo» food… like if you went to Manila, you’d find restaurants like this that don’t have any menus and just have all their food out under heat lamps. The food really reminds me of home and just like how my Yaya(nanny) used to make. It’s not food you take picture of – just good, greasy, home-made dishes that will likely give the uninitiated tummy a bad time.

Wasn’t greeted when I walked in but they were friendly. I came here twice, but decided to do a review this time because of the same problem. The portions are super small. The flavors are there but you get two bites of each side(I got kare kare and menudo) and you leave the place feeling hungry and robbed for your money. I mean it is only $ 5.99 but I still expected to be satisfied. They need to stop being stingy.

You could tell the food is not fresh. As if they server the same food from the other day. The price is over price for the small amount of food they give you.

I had been eyeing this place for about 9 months and I finally got the chance to go yesterday. When I walked in, at first I was confused because there seemed to be what was a small buffet set out and a few nondescript tables and chairs. The manager greeted us warmly, complimented my baby and told us that this was Filipino food and that they had replaced the Chinese place that was there originally(about a year and a half ago). The food that was set out under warmers was for their plate lunch special, in which you get two items and a large hunk of rice. I chose the adobo beef and rice noodles with chicken, and my boyfriend also got the adobo beef and some seasoned steak. Portions were generous and fresh. There was accompanying soy, fish and another sauce I didn’t try as the first two were enough for me. At the end of the meal we decided to try a Halo Halo desert. This was not to my liking, not that it wasn’t great, just the ingredients didn’t mesh well with my American palate. The only downsides to this place is that the dishes were served on Styrofoam plates, with plastic utensils and I could see how the food could get dried out sitting out and not being prepared fresh for each customer. There was a large TV in the corner playing some kind of variety show — loudly, and drinks were not on tap, but of the bottled variety where you would chose them in the glass-door fridge. For unpretentious surroundings and 6.95 a plate, you can’t go wrong and I would love to come back and try the whole fried fish, egg rolls, and rice cake dessert.

You can’t beat the 5.99 combo plate, 2 entrée and LOTS of rice. Service is always extra friendly and the dessert is the bomb. The taste of the food is great — best place in Reno for Filipino. Just wish it wasn’t so far away from South Reno, but the drive is worth it!

–pricing is fair. — needs bigger rice portion. — warmers needed to be turned up — food was warm at best. — place was empty. — Turo Turo style. — free water. — plenty of seating. — TFC playing. Overall experience: just okay.

This is the biggest, brightest, and cleanest of all the FIlipino restaurants anywhere in Reno/Carson. For Filipino restaurants — the higher the rating, the closest the food is to the dinners my mom, lola(grandma) and aunties used to cook, so for that I give them four stars for tasty dishes. And for $ 5.95(I had to ask since there were no signs anywhere about what anything cost except for a la carte($ 5 or $ 8 depending on size), you get a heaping serving of jasmine rice and your choice of two dishes. BARGAIN. And what a bold move — to open up just a few doors down from Reno’s biggest and most popular Asian market run by FIlipinos with a long-running popular little divey restaurant right inside. But like almost all other Filipino restaurants, they suffer similar flaws. 1) No pricing anywhere(see above). For the amount of food they serve on the combo plate, I’d expect to pay at least $ 7 or $ 8. I worry that this miscalculation will impact their bottom line. 2) No menu. It’s a guessing game what is on the steam table. I grew up eating this stuff, and I still had to ask what the dishes were. For the love of adobo, please put a sign with the name of the dish and a description of its ingredients and taste. So for a non-Filipino, I know that this is a bit intimidating. The handful of white people I saw in there were dragged in by their Filipino girlfriends. Don’t they get sick of explaining what each item is? Every day? All day? I really think those two reasons are why almost every single Filipino restaurant in a primarily white /Hispanic environment is doomed to fail. If they expect to only serve their friends and relatives, that’s fine, but your business won’t survive.

I have now been to all three Filipino restaurants in Sparks(there are none in Reno). This one is simply the best. Up to this point, the only Filipino restaurants in Sparks were hidden in some strange locations. ALM Kainan is inside Weinerschnitzel and has awful hours, closing at 7PM and even earlier on weekends. Manila HongKong Kitchen is inside the Manila HongKong grocery store and bit on the cramped dingy side. This place is very clean and more inviting and spacious with a big screen TV playing Filipino soap operas. For whatever reason Filipinos like serving their food school cafeteria style and unfortunately, they don’t label their food so you have to ask what’s in everything and even when they tell you, you have no idea what they’re talking about. For $ 5.99 you can get two entrees and rice or $ 4 ala carte small or $ 8 large. They had a couple fish soup dishes, pork adobe, pork something, bean something, BBQ pork, something black, some noodle thing. The BBQ pork was excellent. I can’t say I’m a big fan of Filipino food. It’s a bit on the bland side and some dishes are a tad pungent. I’m really big on sauces and there isn’t much sauce on Filipino food. The meats are marinaded or stewed, but even the stews are rather bland. It’s good, don’t get me wrong, hence the four stars, but personally, I prefer something more distinctive like a curry, mushroom sauce, garlicky, hot saucy, pesto, etc.
