THEFOODHEREISSOOOOOOGOOD! I recently had a great experience with Sawasdee with a take-out order. I ordered quite a variety, from appetizers(their spring rolls are AMAZING), some soup, an entrée, and a dessert(the sweet rice with mango– highly recommended. On a scale from 1 – 10, its an 11). I made the order online, and went in just a little bit later and the food was already waiting on the counter. Fabulous!

It’s very good, though sometimes the language barrier can be a problem when ordering over the phone. Probably my hearing or the phone cause in the restaurant, there is no problem. Heat consistency varies, however. A «3» on one day can be drastically different than a «3» on another day. Food is always tasty and hot-even take out orders.

We’re new to the neighborhood and have been looking forward to checking this place out. The fried spring rolls we crispy and not soggy. The pepper garlic was great and the drunken noodles were really good. Can’t wait to come back and order more.

It was lovely to go and try a new restaurant on Christmas night. The ginger tea is simply amazing! The crunchy tofu triangles were beyond yummy! The meal was so exquisite! My tummy was so happy having wholesome delicious food in it. Thank you for being such a great restaurant for our community. The staff was so wonderful too.

The BEST Thai restaurant in the Reno area, and trust me I’ve tried them all. Every item here is done to perfection: Pad Thai is tangy and saucy, curries are hearty and satisfying, salads are fresh and crisp, etc. I haven’t ordered a bad item here yet, when in comparison I’ve tried about four other Thai restaurants in the city and have been disappointed in one thing or another. The hostess is super sweet and prices are great! This is my go-to Thai spot now, amazing.

We had lunch here for the first time. When we walked in, it was still empty, because they just opened I already know what I want, yeahh Padthai. Not because I love Padthai but I always pick Padthai as a test for new, to me, Thai restaurant. My husband ordered tofu pad see ew. My pork Padthai with 5 scales of spicyness was so good! The pork was tender. The noodle was nice texture. The flavor was very rich. The pad see ew was wow, I think this pad see ew was the best so far compared any place that we’ve tried. The fried tofu was so crunchy, garlicky. The flat noodles was nice texture too. The sauce was delicious. Service was very nice & friendly. I think I just found another favorite place for my thai food craving. Oh but too bad they only serve lunch specials Monday — Friday.

Food was good. Service was great. Had the panang curry and the pad thai noodles and both were pretty awesome. Will definitely be back

This place is STILL my favorite Thai rest in Reno/Sparks. The food is always delicious and carefully prepared. Pumpkin curry, pad Thai, thai salad, curry puffs… Never a bad meal. The service is great too! 5 stars!

I thought Sawasdee was really delicious! their lunch special was a great deal. I got the stir fried basil special with tofu. The tofu was really unique. I loved it. The pad thai was good too! (you can opt for pad thai as a side instead of rice for a $ 2 upgrade) Pleasant servers. I would have given 5 stars but the fresh rolls were not as good as a few others in town. I’ll for sure be back!

I have friends who just moved back to Sparks after an 8 year absence, and they were in the mood for some Thai food. I’m not very familiar with the restaurant scene in Sparks, so this was the first venue that came to mind. We were greeted warmly, our server gave us plenty of time to look over the menu and ask questions, she didn’t let our water glasses go dry, and our food and check were handled promptly. We shared the stuffed chicken wing, which was delightful in taste and texture. Although I’m a fan of Thai chili sauce, I recommend trying the appetizer without it first to fully enjoy the light seasoning that gives a hint of flavor. I had the chicken in red curry, while my friends had pork in pineapple curry and beef in mamussan curry. I would suggest any one of them as they were all delicious! Each came with a small bowl full of steamed rice that was light and fluffy, and easily soaked up the curry sauce. They spice their dishes on a scale of 1 – 5, so I went with 3 as a standard trial. I tend to like a good kick, so I most likely will go with a 4 the next time I visit. And I definitely look forward to visiting again in the near future.

I’ve driven by here 100 times and haven’t gone in. I had planned to try SK Noodle in the same center that day for lunch but they were on vacation for the week so I came here instead. I tried a lunch combo that included wonton soup, a salad with peanut dressing, pad Thai, honey chicken AND a fried spring roll. My entire bill including tax was $ 9.62 and it was so wonderful. The brought me a small, maybe half cup of clear brothy wonton soup. The salad was a simple salad of greens with a delicious peanut and lime dressing. I could really taste the honey on the honey chicken, no artificial flavoring there that’s for sure. It was a wonderful, sweet, savory flavor. The fried spring roll was tasty enough, I wished I had two and the pad Thai, I’m a noodle lover was so so good. The crushed peanuts on top were the cherry on top. Service was a bit slow after they brought out the initial wonton soup but I had extra time that day and it all came out hot and fresh and was served with a smile. The taffy piece that came with the bill was a nice little treat at the end. I’ll be back to try more here.

I don’t often do Thai for lunch, but I do appreciate the fact most Thai restaurants offer really great lunch specials. Sawasadee is no exception. I came here for lunch meeting with some friends, and from the moment I sat down the service was on point. Water was offered and delivered in mere moments, and though the entire party was not there yet, the server kept checking back to see if anything was needed as everyone arrived. Oncer everyone was there, she came back to see if we had any questions, and took our orders. The lunch special comes with an entrée, soup, a curry puff, a salad, and rice. It’s a lot of food, and a great value considering the price tag of about $ 8-$ 9 bucks. As with most Thai spots you get your choice of protein, so I went with the Spicy Basil with chicken. The server asked how spicy I wanted it and I said 4, but this was the wimpiest 4 I’ve ever encountered. When it comes to Thai food, I like it hot. At a minimum, I want to feel my brow start to sweat, and maybe even my nose begin to run. I like to taste the heat and feel it linger between bites. Thai chilis have a brightness to them that seems to wake up the palate, and this was seriously lacking here. Between one of my friends and I, I think we emptied the little condiment rack of the pepper powder during the meal. The dish had good flavor, with thai basil and veggies all stir fried together, but overall it was just kind of ordinary. I’m willing to chalk this 3 star rating up to ordering wrong and totally give them another chance down the road. I’ve never had great luck with these lunch specials, and should stick to the regular menu. Sometimes you just can’t say no to the value though. For the $ 9 bucks, I’d say this is a pretty good meal. Not enough to take me away from my regular Thai place, but certainly not enough to keep me from coming back when in the area.

Best Thai food and service around. I come here twice a week for lunch. The curries and pad thai are simply wonderful. The thai iced tea is perfect. The waitress is the sweetest and most gentle creature… she’s always there it seems and the experience wouldn’t be the same without her…

Let me just start by saying that I love Thai food. Love love love it. This place is pretty close to home so I thought I would give it a try. At first I was frustrated because the person taking r my order on the phone repeatedly misunderstood what I was saying. Then when I arrived 20 minutes later as they suggested, I had to wait another 15 before my food was actually ready for me to take home. When I finally did get to eat my food. I was relieved to find that the food was great. The pad Thai was sweet and hot and not too soggy. But what overshadowed everything were the fantastic shrimp Rangoon. If nothing else, try the Rangoon.

Sawasdee is awesome! The service is friendly and super fast… maybe a little too fast. If you want to relax and kick back this is not the place to do it. But, if you are looking for really great Thai food that is quick but doesn’t taste quick then this is your place. The Pad Thai is really good with lots of noodles. I LOVE having the noodles. It also had a good portion of meat as well but I love the noddles the most. The Phad Si Yoo(spelling?) is so delicious too. That one I actually like better than anything else that we have tried there. The meat is tender and once again there are a lot of noodles(which I love). The absolute favorite of mine though is the coconut pumpkin curry. Oh man I could eat and drink this stuff every single day. It is the best comfort food I have ever had. The taste of coconut is light but flavorful and the pumpkin chunks are so good. I had it with meat combo one time and one time wiht the tofu. I loved both but I think next time I may stick with either shrimp or chicken. Sawasdee is fanstastic and I can’t wait to go back and try a different curry.

Based on others’ reviews, I knew I had to try this place. The boy and I have been obsessed with Thai food lately, so I couldn’t pass it up. And he didn’t even get to try it; I was awful and ordered while he was on the night shift. In my own defense, I got him some fabulous Thai Iced Tea… that I only drank half of… I looked at the menu online and ordered take out. I wanted to try something new, but still familiar, so I went with the Pumpkin Red Curry. I ordered it with a Level 2 heat and got the Thai Iced Tea with NO ice. I was told the food would be ready in about 15 minutes. The place isn’t too hard to find, it’s in an area where a lot of other buildings are grouped together. After almost getting hit by a guy in a truck who clearly wasn’t paying any attention to me, I made it in. There were only about 4 – 5 other groups of people in the restaurant dining. Seemed well laid out and quiet. I waited a few minutes at the counter because the lady, who I assume is the only one who runs the front of the house, was at a table taking an order. She was very pleasant, but hard to understand. I paid for my order(about $ 15) and went home. About 12 minutes later, I made it back to my apartment and began getting the food out. Surprisingly, the food was still pretty hot and I had no need to re-heat. The iced tea was also still cold, despite having no ice. The rice and curry were packaged separately, which I appreciated. I like my food saucy(meaning, don’t skimp!) but this was definitely the sauciest curry I’ve had. I felt like there was more sauce compared to the chicken, pumpkin, and veggies, although there was an okay amount of that. The spice level of this dish was absolutely perfect. Just enough heat to give it a kick, but not enough to overpower the dish. I liked the addition of the pumpkin, it added creaminess. The chicken was okay, but did seem a little dry. With regards to the Thai Iced Tea, WHAT?! Years ago, I hated this stuff. I continue to try it at every Thai restaurant we go to, and slowly it has grown on me. This is by far the best one I’ve had. Usually I have a sip of my boyfriend’s and I’m done. Nope, not with this stuff. I ordered it with the full intention of taking a sip and leaving it for him. I ended up drinking half of it. I think it was a little sweeter than others I’ve tried and didn’t have as much of a «heavy» after-taste as some of the others do. I also like that you can order it without ice because you don’t get refills on this deliciousness. Overall, I’d definitely take my boy here because it was worth it. It was a little pricier for what you get compared to other Thai restaurants, but it’s still good. And that Thai Ice Tea was the best I’ve had.

How is it that we have so many good Thai Places in town? Well I can now add another to that list of good places. I was having dinner with a buddy to catch up. We had originally planned on sushi… but I just wasn’t feeling it so I switched to a place I had never been. Sawasdee. Our funds were a little tighter than usual so we split the Green Papaya Salad and then ordered up two entrees. I ordered the Green Curry and he ordered the Pad Thai with chicken. All were ordered two stars for spicy and came out appropriately. Some heat, but not anything strong at all. The service was just fine. No complaints. Surprising since I think there was only one person in the front of the house taking care of at least 7 tables. One thing I didn’t like was that the menu didn’t match the rest of the experience. It was just a black and white photocopy slipped into a sheet protector of some sort. This cheap detail didn’t match the meal nor did it match the décor of the restaurant. I guarantee that we will return, because my wife loves Thai food way more than I do, and she needs to try this place out.

Every time I come here they are pretty dead. I don’t really know how they stay open, but I hope they continue to do so, since they are one of the only Thai options in Sparks — unless you want to drive out to Spanish Springs, which is a bit silly. The hostess/waitress — it’s always the same person — is exceptionally friendly. She always has a smile on her face, and that’s nice to see. I’ve tried specials, but I normally stick with curries. I’m particularly fond of the pumpkin curry, but they are all well done. They ask how spicy between one to five, five being the most spicy — if you can’t take the heat but want a tiny bit, stick to a two. I normally do three or four, but I can really handle my heat most days. The dining room is pretty simple, sparse, nice and open. I really appreciate the open rafter ceiling, because when there are other parties, it gives somewhere for the noise to go. We’ve brought a few friends here and everyone has always been pleased with their experience. Definitely get the Thai iced tea — this is the only place where I’ve been able to order it without ice. I’ve found that some other locations fill the glass up with so much ice that you barely get any tea. Oh, and get the sweet sticky rice, too. Yummmm.
