Frequent a lot of Port of Subs around town, and for the most part all sandwiches taste the same. This is good I love consistency. This location has an awesome staff which bumped the rating from 3 to 4 stars. The sandwich without adding the double meat option is just so so, make sure to opt for double meat if you like your sandwich to have a better bread meat cheese ratio. Toppings are always fresh and as they are making the sandwich if a topping isn’t up to standards they actually bring out fresh toppings. Wish they would do fresh jalapeño instead of pickled. Overall the place is very quick and super friendly.

I know for a fact that these guys have employees that do not rotate the meat correctly or most of the food for that matter… the«manager» would rather be on his cell phone then help customers. Its just ridiculous. I would be very careful going in here for health reasons. Especially when there are other port of subs near by that are worth the extra couple of feet!

My boyfriend and I were wanting a sandwich from Port of Subs around 8:30pm on an Tuesday evening. The location closest to us was closed for renovation so we decided to drive to this location as it was the next closest and we wanted to make it before their closing time of 9pm. We parked our car at about 8:42pm right in front of the store. We walked up to the store and tried the door. It was locked. There was one customer inside the dining room and about 4 employees standing around the counter. We knocked on the door and gestured at our watches. The posted hours for this business state that the business is open until 9pm. The employees inside then proceeded to laugh and point like something was funny. I COULDNOTBELIEVE that a reputable chain restaurant would have hired employees that would behave so rudely. They refused to open the door and serve us dinner. I will absolutely never go back to this location and I encourage people to stop frequenting this location because it should not be open for business. We ended up calling the port of subs in Sparks Galleria for the contact information for this store(on Prater). They were unable to give us info due to one being a franchise and the other a corporate store. The store in the Galleria did offer to make us sandwiches as long as we were there by 9pm. We made it there at 8:58pm. Which shows how early we were to the Prater location. The Galleria location will be getting a raving review that is for sure!

I recently made a trip to Reno and I stopped into port of subs for lunch, when I first walked in I was greeted by there very friendly staff and I could smell the fresh baked bread. I ordered a turkey, avocado and bacon sandwich, and the turkey was sliced fleshed to order I really liked that, also the cheese was sliced fresh too. The most pleasant thing about my visit was the owner, I believe his name was Jessy, he made sure everything was good to my liking and he his customer services skill were on point. I highly recommend getting sandwiches here, it’s a lot better than subway I can tell you that!

Unfortunately my first review is a bad one :(Wow– where do I start? All four employees on 07-19-2014 were in a state of confusion! Went in with a friend to get some sandwiches to go. First issue was one of the employees did not screw the oregano shaker tight and so the entire shaker of oregano ended up on the sandwich. Instead of the blue haired manager automatically grabbing new bread to start over, she merely tried to dust if off! So we had to request her to replace the bread. Through out this process we had to repeat ourselves three times as far as bread, meat etc. The grand finale to it all? When we got home they had put one side of wheat and one side of white on each sandwich. WHAT?! My friend called and spoke to the manager(blue hair girl) who could have cared less and merely responded with«People make mistakes sorry» WOW– will not be back to this location.

I visited the Silver State Plaza location on 662 N. McCarran Blvd today(25MAR14) at 1140. I waited in line while others were ordering but got tired of waiting and decided to leave. As I was leaving the younger of the two counter ladies yelled at me to come back. I waved my right hand over my shoulder as a «no thank you» or «good bye». As we were leaving the counter girl yelled«screw you!». I wasn’t sure I heard her right so I asked my father(who was with me) if I’d heard that right. He confirmed that I did. Instead of going back inside and becoming confrontational(which I didn’t foresee any positive outcome), we just continued on our way to the 1195 N. Rock location. We received excellent service there. While there I asked for the number to file a complaint. After explaining about the comment/service I received at the other location, the store owner dialed the corporate office on his phone and handed it to me to leave a message. I left a message. I just wanted to alert people to the kind of service I received. It was rude, embarrassing and highly disrespectful. Worst of all is that it was completely unwarranted. There is no reason to yell«screw you» across a busy restaurant. This location will never again receive my business and I will be sure to let my friends and family know what happened. I hope something is done to curb this behavior by their employees/representatives after filing my complaint with corporate. I didn’t serve 10 yrs in the Army, and two tours in Iraq, to come home and be disrespected in this manner. I am just thankful I had the self control to walk away.

Having grown up in Sparks I am a life long fan of Port of Subs. They have a unique taste to them that I crave and many of my friends who have moved away always request to get Port of Subs when they are in town. Having said that, this is by far the worst location and should be reviewed by corporate for the franchise as they do not represent the brand well. I came to this location during an event at the Marina which had a lot of out of town participants. I personally recommended Port of Subs as a place to get a good inexpensive bite to eat to many of them and I regret it for the poor experience they received and the unfortunate bad impression of the brand they left with. There was one other customer in front of me. It appeared there was one employee plus one manager who was haranguing the employee who was trying to work. The manager was putting together sandwiches from a phone order and ignoring the waiting customers. She glared at the female employee(who I suspect was a family member forced to work) whenever she approached the counter attempting to help she was instructed in a non-english language to go clean something. Or at least that is my assumption since she would go mop for a minute or wipe down the microwave half-heartedly. It was weird. Finally the manager decided to take the orders of the customers waiting in her shop. She seemed very annoyed by our presence. She kept apologizing that it was taking so long but wasn’t expediting things. She was loudly and repeatedly complaining about an employee who wasn’t present, saying he doesn’t deserve to have a job. It was very awkward for us customers. The food was not up to the Port of Subs standards. not by a long shot. The lettuce was wilted and browning on the edges and everything seemed like it was not the right temperature. When I asked for light mayo/mustard mix the woman squirted extra mustard on the bread??? I wasn’t able to scrape it off since it soaked in the bread. They also use the barest minimum of meat and cheese possible. They dialed in the slicer thinner than I’ve ever seen and don’t even cover the bread so you will have huge gaps of bare bread. Port of subs isn’t the most generous with the meats, but generally there is some overlap/layering, not here though. I overheard the employee taking a platter order while I was waiting and the customer requested the lettuce and onions on the side so her clients had add them in if they wish. This is the way we always get our platters at work from the Port of Subs on Mill st. They give us assembled sandwiches(bread/meat/cheese) but put the lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, peppers all in separate containers along with vinegar packets and a tub of mustard mayo. The manager woman stopped making my sandwich to scream at the girl that they do not do that. «You take the sandwich how we make it! no customization!» No No NO!!” They are obviously running this store by their own rules and it represents the franchise terribly. I’ve noticed some locations will try to cut corners by serving day old bread(S. Meadows) or dialing their slicers slightly thinner(Mill St) but overall they are still serving a delicious sandwich. This location takes the cutting corners to the extreme and the product is barely recognizable as a Port of Subs brand. Yuck yuck yuck. I’m still surprised that I didn’t end up sick from eating here as the hygiene I witnessed wasn’t the best either. I will not return to this location under this management ever again!

Service was awesome, food is wonderful, workers are friendly. My only complaint is that I spent $ 13 out the door for a large sandwich with double meat. Id been better off ordering a two foot sandwich for the same cost. I LOVE Port of Subs growing up with this neighborhood sandwich shop but hate their high prices. Hell, if crappy Subway figured out a $ 5 large, why can’t they? Lower your prices and I guarantee you will have more business selling more subs making more money!!!

Wow! Awful service, awful portions, indignant employees and disregard for sanitation. Skip this one — there are more port of subs around happy to serve you. Port of subs is more expensive than the competitors but justifies it with higher a caliber product. This one is AWFUL. For what you pay, get a better Sammy from happier people at another location. Oh, and if you have to go, make sure you watch closely, they like to skip on the expensive food(like meat, cheese, avocado) when you aren’t looking!

I love Port of Subs. But this particular restaurant is terrible. They do not wash their hands after handling money! Sure they wear gloves, but their dirty hands just touched the gloves to put them on! Also they are not very friendly at all. The sandwiches are made soppily and half the time the bread is stale. I recommend the Port of Subs across the street from Reed(on Baring) or the one on Galleria Parkway. Or any other Port of Subs.

These sandwiches are very disappointing to me. They look impressive, but they lack taste. They also have too many options when you order, so if you are in a hurry, you better go to another place. Oh, and stay away from the tuna salad sandwich, bleh!

wow, after hearing about this port of subs in sparks,(great food), etc…, this place SUCKS!!!, i ate the steak and cheese grilled panini(terrible), and my wife had the special turkey and cheese w/avo, which she literally gave to the homeless dog walking around the strip mall, which in fact smelled it and just stared at us!, this is the worst sandwich shop i have ever been to and pricey as well., better off at subway! or make a sandwich at home!

I’m a sandwich lover… I could eat a sandwich everyday. I went to Reed High which is located directly across from Port of Subs and I love their sandwiches. It’s been a while since I’ve had one but the #1 is my favorite!(Ham, Salami, Capicolla, Pepperoni & Provolone Cheese) I usually get everything on my sandwich; lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, peppers, onions, oil & vinegar, and mayo & mustard. Their bread is so good and I love that the mayo and mustard are mixed together in a spread. My memories of grabbing a sandwich and heading to the Lake with my family are burned into my memory. Next time I’m back home I need to get me a Sub.

I live a few blocks from this place and have visited pretty often in the last few months. Every time I’ve eaten here I have been put off by the terrible customer service and mediocre food quality. Expect to wait at least a few minutes even if you’re the only customer in the store. They have never greeted my with any kind of friendliness. Last time I stopped in for my turkey and pepperjack on wheat one of the workers began mopping the floor and hit my feet with the wet dirty mop. It was not only gross but created a serious risk for a slip ‘n fall for me and the other patrons present. Their bread and produce quality is noticeably poor compared to other franchises nearby. I’d recommend the Galleria location over this one any day of the week. The Baring location may also be a better bet.

When I used to live in Reno(from birth until the age of 23, now I am 28), I ate here often and it is one of my favorite stops when I come home to visit family. I usually get the #18(roast beef and turkey) with mayo/mustard(best mix, consistently, I have every eaten), Lettuce, Tomato and Oregano. Every time it is simply to die for. They cut the meat right in front of you, right after you order the sandwich. The bread is soft and the brownies are exceptional. For anyone from out of town, make this a stop before you leave. You won’t be disappointed.
