As far as local sports books go, the Nugget has improved from their previous downstairs location. They are now centrally in the casino next to the small poker room. The sports book is ran by William Hill and has several options for placing bets, kiosk, app or live person. There is a bar and tailgate deli at the rear and side of the book. It’s pretty small, but the newer furniture makes it look clean. One negative is there are more betting screens than actual game screens. Being in Sparks this is a good place to come watch a game as its not very busy unless there is a big game on.

If you forget how the entire Nugget hotel is a cloud of smoke, then no stars off for that. The Sports Book is a nice, comfortable place to have a sandwich and bet. I had the reuben, it was delicious and huge. Also reasonably priced. I asked for potato salad as my side. Big mistake. It tasted awful and my friend had the kettle chips, which thankfully she shared with me. They were delicious. Simply delicious. Great place to get away from the crowds(but not the smoke) and have a nice lunch.

New furniture and TV area next to a bar and poker area. Smaller space and a little crowded.

Minus one star for being WAY too smoky. More air filtration, please. Four stars for: me winning on the Pats, making friends with the random guys around us, $ 1.50 for a beer and a hot dog(yes you saw that right), the super-awesome waitress from Atlanta, being able to watch every football game on Sunday at the same time, and generally being awesome. If only the colts hadn’t scored 3 TDs in 5 minutes to come back for the win in the 4th quarter… jerks.
