Avalon Massage

Since moving to this area, I have been searching for a good massage therapist. I have tried at least 10 different providers and had the full range of experiences from very competent to worthless. Even the better therapists still left me with the feeling that something was missing from the total «Ahhhh…» experience. Then, thanks to Groupon, I found Avalon!
The first visit, i upgraded the 60 minute massage to 90 mins for a little extra. I thought the price was very reasonable, even without the Groupon. That was before the massage. I booked a session with Coralanne, a quiet, petite girl with a pleasant spirit. Initially, because I prefer deep tissue massages and because of her size, I was skeptical that she would be able to get deep enough. The saying «never judge a book by its cover» should be Coralanne’s mantra! Not only did she completely eliminate the deep knots that I knew about, she found more that I didn’t. In addition, her technique was so soothing, I almost fell asleep, which never happens! After that experience, Coralanne became the standard by which any others would be judged. There were a few therapists after that experience and none even came close.
Fast forward a couple of months, after my stockpile of Groupons for other massage therapists was depleted. Avalon published another Groupon. Oh goodie! Another opportunity to see Coralanne!
This time, however, I opted for a session with Kat, the owner. She has such a laid back demeanor and is very easy to talk to.
OMG! I don’t think I’ve ever had a better massage! I didn’t even mention the deep tissue preference but she mixed her technique so smoothly and merged a number of disciplines to gently coax even the most stubborn knots out of my neck! When it was all over, I lamented the rapid passing of my time but I will definitely be back! The biggest problem I have with them is deciding which therapist I want to see! Decisions, decisions!

My husband and I were staying the night in Reno for a weekend getaway. He surprised me with a hour massage. It was AMAZING! He originally had booked me a deep tissue, but after speaking with me she determined I would benefit from an aroma therapy massage. It was so relaxing and she took the time after to show me some neck stretches I could do while working long days in front of the computer. Overall, she is great, the experience was great, and I highly recommend her services.

Khat is a very friendly and does a wonderful massage on stressed muscles. Price is reasonable also.
