Went to the restaurant, they are CLOSED. They also have a sign posted that it’s abandoned…

Gross. Dirty. Old. Oily and bites you back on the way out. Stay out and save your money. The food was oily, the desserts were old and crunchy. The place has definitely gone downhill since the questionable shutdown.

I don’t know what the bad reviews are talking about on here for this place. We moved up to the Tacoma area little over 2 years ago. Tried a few Buffets around NW Washington and had good luck at a couple. The place on Meridian before the mall going north WAS the only local place since moving to Spunaway we have gone to. Went to Dragon Buffet just now, a Friday night 6 – 7 pm, and it was great. The food was hot and fresh. Good selections. A lot of big chunks of imitation crab in 4 different dishes and not just small pieces. Crab legs and 4 kinds of soup.(All of the other Chinese Buffet stuff too as well as a Stir Fry grill. What I liked most was they had 7 or 8 different types of Sushi. One of the other reviews said«Typical Buffet Sushi». Well I want to know where those other Buffets are because all of the ones we have tried had 1 – 2 and MAYBE3 different types of Sushi and they were constantly running empty. Tonight at Dragon they had 1 lady making Sushi and she made sure to keep it full.(Not full for 50 people but full for the business flow they had tonight.) This will be our new Local Buffet we go to.(The seafood Buffet at Lucky Eagle is great for when relatives come in and want seafood.) This is a great, «5 minutes from home» buffet. The service was great too. Plates were taken away as soon as we put them at the end of the table and drinks were re-filled pretty quick. Hell, my wife always asks for extra napkins and whatever else. The girl brought us extra napkins without us even asking. Only $ 35 and change for 2 adults and a 7 year old on a Friday night for dinner. Not bad at all.

The sushi was ok for buffet sushi… The wasabi was sweet and not really spicy, which was odd. Very odd. They didn’t have the typical seafood selection I am used to, but for a smaller city this is pretty good. It wouldn’t be fair to rate this restaurant amongst major city businesses because obviously it is harder to make super fresh food when you don’t have thousands of customers per week. The ice cream is store bought and of the cheapest kind. The cakes were fine just only one was stale but to be fair everything under a heat lamp dries out and gets chewy. They do offer a fresh Mongolian grill at the back! You should definitely try that if you want fresh. Just ask for it ! They have coupons and deals for this place which makes it easier on your wallet. If you like to gamble, EQC offers free buffet comps for 2 hrs of gambling. Just check in and check out of their customer service desk. The salmon was out and they didn’t have crab, only krab. The buffet in Bremerton was so terrible it took me 4 years to want to try buffet food again. As usual you have to add spice and your own palette, the food was prepared for a semi-bland taste palette. The krab salad was great. The barbequed chicken on a stick was dried out and chewy. The other food is great and not super breaded and soggy like my not-so-fond memories of buffet food in Washington state(not big big cities) but larger towns. The oysters were delicious… Could use more garlic. They offer hot tea for free here and not many buffets do. They even leave the pot at your table like a dine-in Chinese restaurant does.

This place has severely gone downhill. All you see are signs everywhere claiming how everything is fresh, which the food is everything but. The food is stale, sad, visibly old and wilted. Service is non existent. This place is sad in every way.

All fried food taste the same. The rice has no flavor. The crab legs are over cooked. SUSHI used to be the best to choose from now there are 4 kinds. The Gyoza is soggy and the chow mein is over cooked noodles with no salt or texture(veggies)…The best items here are the soda and the desserts… I Watched 2 people spit stuff in their napkins… not a good sign?! Only one person on the wait staff speaks English and she works hard for her tips! The kid(yes an 8 year old boy) brought us to our table… seemed to love his job… When did Child Labor become okay in Spanaway? PS… What is that banging noise coming from the kitchen??? It sound a like a meat cleaver on a wood cutting board… is that chicken or cat???

The more I come here the worse this place gets. The food looks like it’s been sitting out for an hour. The wait staff is inattentive. For as much money as we’re paying, you think they’d at least give us decent service.

Horrible food. Werid creepy bus boy watching us. A complete waste of money. Don’t go here, I promise you will be disappointed because I was. And I even looked at the reviews before I came, and I knew I should of listened. That’s what ya get for being stubborn

So I went to eat here today hoping to pig out on some good Chinese food and under the assumption that steamed crab could never be bad. Yet the crab was the only thing that I could stomach. :/ So disappointing I even got into an argument with my girlfriend about it, seams she was right waste of money/time

Been here a few times and its always hit or miss. Foods often lukewarm and tastes a bit like leftovers more than actual hot food. They are kind of pricey and it seems to me the prices rose in the last 6 months. I love a few of their items but mostly its always kind of just blah.

Oh man! This is the best Asian buffet I ever been. They had everything I like. Especially the snow shrimp and the cakes. And every time when I go get the soups, I can’t even pick one because it looks damn good! Yum! Man… Guys i strongly suggest u to take a shoot on this place, it was amazing!!!

This place used to be amazing… what happened!!! All the food is disgusting now. Came on Saturday night which is «crab night» and they have no crab lol… I had my first plate and it was my last plate because I got so grossed out. Save your money and go eat something out of the garbage can.

This place used to be amazing but it closed for a while and now I’m sad to say it sucks… Tonight they lost previously loyal customers for their awful change in food quality.

Great food for what you pay. I enjoyed all their food except Sushi is very suspect. I looks like standing around too long. My kids told me about this place and have been enjoying this place ever since. I totally get my moneies worth. I suppose to be watching my cholesterol but I can not stop eatting at this place. People do take away your plates lot quicker than most other buffets. They are great on getting you drinks and checking up on refills. If sushi was better, I would give them 4 stars. Maybe they should remove the Sushi section all together. My claims always seem to have sand in them. I guess I just choose the wrong day.

A good variety and friendly staff. The food is average as far as quality. Better then most in this area for a Chinese Buffett.

After three visits … I found the food quality to be simply okay. Compared to other Chinese buffets at the same price range, the choice of dishes here is somewhat limited. As in most buffet restaurants, the best time to eat there is just as the restaurant opens and towards the end of the rush — this is especially true for this restaurant. The service is pretty good, they regularly refilled my drink and took away my dirty dishes. Bottom-line — it is a bit pricey for what you get… and given there are a couple of better Chinese buffets in the area, they would be my first choice even though Dragon is at least 3 miles closer to me compared to the others.

I don’t normally try out Asian buffets because I have found most to be subpar, over Americanized dens of yuckness. But Dragon Buffet(along with Super Buffet in Dupont) presents the more popular mainstays of Chinese cuisine(aong with some lesser known) and deliver on most accounts. Sure, the sushi may not be as good or feature a variety like your favorite sushi joint, but it is passable. The fruit selection is plentiful and good and fresh but their hot selections are the main attraction for me. Go for the fried squid, dim sum, and garlic shrimp and you will be in good shape. If you want première Chinese food, go to your favorite spot that specializes in whatever dishes you prefer. If you want to roll up your sleeves and indulge in some tasty food that is way better than some of these reviewers will have you believe, come check this place out. Dinner and dessert for two for a little over $ 20 is plenty fair as well.

I came here for lunch the first time a month or so ago. I am not really a buffet fan in general, and less so for Chinese food. I’m not going to go out and say its an «authentic» Chinese restaurant, but it is a fair sight better than any of the«Wok & Teriyaki» joints in the local area when it comes to nailing the flavors of Chinese takeout. I don’t like sushi, and i’m not big on crab or lobster either so i cant vouch for the freshness of their catch of the day, but the people i’m with liked it just fine. All the meat based dishes I tried were good, but again, steam table food isnt really my favorite– so I ordered takeout today, Mongolian Beef(ex. spicy) and I was really pretty impressed with it. You would be amazed how many local restaurants screw this dish up by making it sugary sweet. Nice big peices of perfectly cooked beef in onions and peppers with a very good sauce. Missing the fried noodles and water chesnuts(like Chans in bend OR *BESTEVER!*) but it was priced right(10 $ for a large order with rice) and the best I have had local to Tacoma. The menu isnt quite as wide ranging as Yea’s Wok, but being 5 minutes away all but assures I will hit this place up again and try a few more things every couple weeks as long as the quality remains good.

Two stars because the service was good. This place definitely serves a niche market in Spanaway — that is, it’s over greasy, over cooked, over seasoned«Asian» food that comes in vast quantities at a ridiculously low price. We went on a Saturday lunch. We were met by a well meaning host who promptly sat us at a booth and was told to go for the buffet. So naturally, we went and scouted around. There are approximately three or four hot well carts, one little table for«sushi», an ice cream cart, and about two different dessert carts. It wasn’t a bad selection of food as much as it was just the run-of-the-mill if you had to take the top 15 Americanized selection of Asian foods, that’s what was there. I attempted the sushi first, just because I was dying for a quick fix of seasoned rice and fish. Their idea of sushi was abysmal at best — their ingredients consisted of avocado, imitation crab, mayo, and cream cheese. Disappointed, but not completely swayed off course, I tried the hot wells next. Mongolian beef and what I think was cashew chicken with a side of their white rice. The rice had obviously been undercooked with a really crappy quality of rice to begin with — it tasted akin to instant diy microwavable pouches. Mongolian beef was fatty and overwhelming with greasy sauce. Same with the chicken. I tried a few of Thomas’s selections and wasn’t exactly happy either. We tried desert which consisted of dry lemon-coconut bar thingies, dry chocolate cake, dry cream puffs in three different varieties and pudding. I was impressed that they did serve fruit and was very pleased by the honeydew. It helped digest the brick of $ 6.00 fast Chinese food. Our total came out to $ 17.something after two buffet tickets, and a pot of green tea for two. I left a 20 and immediately took a walk to help settle my stomach. My suggestion, go down the street a block to Umai. Or Thai Wok. Or even Phở Pacific two doors down. Or even the Safeway Chinese Express deli. You’d get a way more authentic and tastier experience.
